Roborock is the better-supported choice for shoppers who want a robot vacuum that also mops and automates more dock chores. In the available direct tests, its S8 Pro Ultra and Qrevo Pro beat the Dyson 360 Vis Nav overall. Dyson may suit buyers prioritizing dry vacuuming and its advertised dust-handling and anti-tangle features, but those test results do not establish a winner between Dyson’s current US R1 Nurovi Dry and Roborock’s newest models.

What the available comparisons actually show

RTINGS compared the Dyson 360 Vis Nav with two Roborock models. In both comparisons, the Roborock performed better overall: the S8 Pro Ultra and Qrevo Pro each add mopping, and their docks offer functions the Dyson lacks. RTINGS found the Dyson had higher airflow and suction measurements, but that advantage did not translate into better overall performance in those comparisons.

These are model-specific results, not a controlled test of the current product ranges. The Dyson in both matchups is the 360 Vis Nav. Dyson’s US robot-vacuum page now presents the R1 Nurovi Dry, while Roborock’s US catalogue spans multiple families, including Saros, Qrevo, QV/QR, Q10 and Q7. No cited source directly tests the R1 Nurovi Dry against a current Roborock model under the same conditions. Treat the older comparisons as useful evidence about those particular models—not proof that every Roborock beats every Dyson.

How the current models differ

Model or range What the available evidence says What to keep in mind
Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry Dyson describes a dry vacuum for carpets and hard floors with high-speed LiDAR mapping, line lasers and edge sensors for obstacle recognition, an extending side sweeper, anti-tangle features, and dust sensing that adjusts suction. Its bagless cyclonic dock is claimed to store up to 90 days of dust, depending on cleaning habits. Dyson’s US robot-vacuum page presents these as product features and claims. No cited independent head-to-head test compares it with the newest Roborock models. Dyson’s 90-day figure is a qualified manufacturer claim, not a guarantee for every household.
Roborock range The US catalogue and lineup page show several families, from vacuum-focused options to vacuum-and-mop robots with multifunction docks. Features vary by exact model. A brand-level comparison can obscure whether a particular robot washes mops, handles water, empties dust, or simply charges.
Roborock Saros 20 TechRadar’s 2026 review describes a premium vacuum-and-mop robot with a low profile, lifting chassis, extending edge tools and automated dock functions. It reports a maximum stated suction specification of 35,000 Pa and strong carpet pet-hair pickup, alongside capable mopping. The Pa figure is a manufacturer specification reported by the review, not an independent cross-brand cleaning score. The review and 2026 testing also note mop-coverage or streak limitations and imperfect obstacle avoidance. Read the Saros 20 review.
Roborock Qrevo 2 Pro TechRadar’s 2026 review describes detachable mop plates for mixed-floor homes and praises its mopping. The review says it is tall for low furniture, can miss obstacles or struggle with some pickup, and requires disposable dust bags. The review reports an August 2026 launch and market availability. Read the Qrevo 2 Pro review.

For a broader look at tested models, Tom’s Guide’s 2026 robot-vacuum roundup also discusses mopping coverage and obstacle-avoidance limitations. Those findings reinforce why feature lists alone do not settle which robot will work best in a specific home.

Which brand makes more sense for your priorities?

Choose by floor mix and cleaning tasks

If you need vacuuming and mopping from one robot, Roborock has more relevant options in the cited lineup, including models with multifunction docks. Check how the exact model handles carpet transitions, whether it lifts or removes its mop, and whether testing found missed areas or streaks. Dyson’s R1 Nurovi Dry is positioned for dry cleaning across carpets and hard floors; its cited product information does not describe it as a mop.

Match pet-hair claims to your floors

Dyson advertises anti-tangle features and dust sensing with automatic suction adjustment. The Saros 20 review reports strong carpet pet-hair pickup, but that is evidence about the Saros 20—not a like-for-like test against the current Dyson. Hair pickup and wrap depend on floor type, brush design, and maintenance, so look for testing on surfaces like yours rather than treating a suction number as a proxy.

Check navigation against your obstacles

Mapping and object-recognition features can help a robot plan routes, but they do not guarantee that it will avoid every cord, small object, or cluttered area. Dyson lists LiDAR, line lasers and edge sensors on the R1 Nurovi Dry; reviews of newer Roborock models also report imperfect obstacle avoidance. Measure low furniture and thresholds in your home, then check the specific robot’s clearance and test results.

Count the work the dock removes—and adds

Dock functions differ by model. Some handle only charging; others may empty dust, manage water, or wash and dry mop pads. More automation can reduce routine chores, but it does not eliminate maintenance. Account for the tasks the dock performs, any consumables the model needs, and how often you are willing to clean or refill components. For example, TechRadar identifies disposable dust bags as a required consumable for the Qrevo 2 Pro.

How to make a fair model-to-model decision

  1. Set the job first. Decide whether you need dry vacuuming only or want mopping as well, and list the carpet, rugs, hard floors, thresholds and low-clearance furniture the robot must handle.
  2. Compare the exact models. Check brush maintenance, mop design and carpet handling, obstacle performance, dock functions, and required consumables. Do not treat a product-family name as a complete specification.
  3. Use tests that match your home. Prioritize independent results for your floor types and likely obstacles. The cited RTINGS comparisons cover the Dyson 360 Vis Nav against older Roborock models, not Dyson R1 Nurovi Dry against today’s newest Roborocks.
  4. Check local price and ownership costs. Compare current prices in your region and include bags, filters, mop parts, or other model-specific supplies. Prices and availability vary by market and change over time; no current street-price comparison is established here.

One example of why prices need regional and date context: TechRadar reported the Saros 20 at list prices of $1,599.99 in the US, £1,309 in the UK, and AU$2,999 in Australia in its 2026 review, and a €1,499 European launch price for its February 2026 launch. These are reported list or launch prices, not a promise of today’s local selling price.

Does higher suction mean a better robot vacuum?

No. Suction and airflow measurements, and manufacturer Pa specifications, are only parts of a cleaning system. Brush design, how the robot applies suction, navigation, repeated coverage, and floor type all affect pickup. The RTINGS comparisons illustrate the distinction: Dyson measured higher in suction and airflow against the cited Roborock models, yet RTINGS rated each Roborock better overall. Likewise, the Saros 20’s reported 35,000 Pa maximum specification should not be read as proof that it cleans better than a Dyson tested under the same conditions.
