Treat the layout as unverified until you check the label or documentation for the specific unit. Its published capacity and dimensions can help assess fit, while owner reviews offer mixed, anecdotal reports rather than a reliable failure-rate measure.
What the CTM216W specifications say
CHiQ’s 2018 specification sheet lists a total capacity of 216 litres: 154 litres for the refrigerator compartment and 62 litres for the freezer. It also lists a 3.5-star rating, but does not establish which rating scheme the figure uses. Do not compare it directly with newer Australian energy labels without confirming the scheme.

These figures come from the historical CHiQ CTM216W specification sheet (2018); they are not independent measurements. The sheet also lists frost-free operation, multi-air flow, an interior LED, a humidity-control crisper, tempered-glass shelves and R600a refrigerant.
Is it top mount or bottom mount?
The available documents conflict. The 2018 specification sheet describes the CTM216W as a top-mount refrigerator, while a manual copy titled for CTM216W/CTM215S describes a frost-free bottom-mounted refrigerator. The manual is a third-party copy, and the available CHiQ Australia document-search information does not resolve the discrepancy.

Do not rely on a listing or model name alone to decide the layout. Check the rating plate and model label on the actual appliance, find a verified model-specific manual, or ask CHiQ support to confirm the configuration. The CHiQ Australia document search page says model numbers can be used to search documents, but that does not by itself confirm the mount style. The conflicting documents are the 2018 specification sheet and the CTM216W/CTM215S manual copy.
Will it fit your space?
The listed product dimensions are 545 mm wide, 1465 mm high and 590 mm deep. Measure the intended space and compare it with those product dimensions, including door swing and the route through doorways, halls and stairs. The specification sheet does not establish a current installation-clearance requirement for this exact model, so confirm clearance needs from reliable documentation or the manufacturer before installation.

ProductReview.com.au identifies the CTM216W as discontinued and displays 15 owner reviews. The comments describe varied individual experiences: one owner reports a positive experience using it as a backup fridge and dealing with support, while other owners report freezer ice buildup, cooling problems, noise or difficulty contacting support.
These are self-selected accounts, not a controlled test or a representative sample of owners. Is a CTM216W worth buying now?
The review listing labels the model discontinued, but that does not prove that every remaining or second-hand unit is unavailable. Current stock, local service support, compatible parts and warranty coverage have not been established. The specification sheet’s listed 3 + 7 year warranty is historical; it does not show that a warranty applies to a present purchase or clarify its scope.
If you are considering a used unit, inspect it running and check that both compartments cool as expected, listen for unusual noise, and look for excessive freezer ice or signs of damage. Ask for the unit’s age, proof of purchase, warranty details and any service history. Before paying, confirm whether local repair support and any needed parts are actually available. Do not assume shelves, door gaskets or other parts will fit based only on the model name; get compatibility confirmed by the manufacturer or seller.
