The CHiQ CCD500NS is a 503 L, four-door refrigerator with a 317 L fridge compartment and 186 L freezer. CHOICE lists it as tested in 2024, but its model-specific expert rating and detailed test results are restricted to members. The public evidence supports a careful look at its capacity, features, installation requirements and warranty—not a verdict about how well it cools or how quietly it runs.
What the CHiQ CCD500NS offers
CHiQ’s specification sheet describes the CCD500NS as a VCM Silver, four-door refrigerator with 503 L net capacity. The manufacturer divides that into 317 L for the fridge and 186 L for the freezer. CHOICE classifies it as a French-door model in the large 451–525 L category.

The sheet lists two glass shelves, a standard crisper, a Care+ crisper, six door baskets, four freezer drawers, two freezer trays and a twist ice maker. It also names an inverter system, total frost-free operation, multi-airflow, an LED display and controls, and a LECO system. These are manufacturer-listed specifications and features, not independent test findings.
Care+ crisper modes
CHiQ describes three Care+ settings for meat, fruit and vegetables. Its specification sheet says the settings provide storage temperatures suited to those food categories; that is the manufacturer’s description, not evidence of independently measured freshness or storage performance.

What the available review evidence says
CHOICE’s public review page identifies 2024 as the model’s test year and lists a four-star energy rating and claimed energy use of 397 kWh per year. Treat the energy-use figure as the claim shown on CHOICE’s page, not as a separately reported measurement.
CHOICE does not show the model’s expert rating, detailed performance scores or pros and cons publicly. Its restricted results include measures such as temperature stability and evenness, response to outside temperatures, default-setting performance, heat-load handling, running costs, cold and warm areas, noise and testing standard. Will it fit, and how much clearance does it need?
The refrigerator itself measures 853 mm wide, 1775 mm high and 694 mm deep according to CHiQ’s specification sheet. CHOICE rounds the dimensions to 86 × 178 × 70 cm and lists a recommended installation envelope of 96 cm wide, 183 cm high and 75 cm deep.

The specification sheet calls for 50 mm on each side and at the back; the shared-model user manual calls for at least 100 mm on each side and 50 mm at the back. Because the manual covers the CCD500NS alongside four similar model codes, confirm the current clearance requirement for your exact unit with CHiQ before installation. The manual warns that inadequate ventilation can affect cooling and working life and may void warranty coverage.

Warranty, price and availability
The published warranty information is inconsistent. CHiQ’s specification sheet describes three years of parts and labour plus seven additional years of compressor parts only. CHOICE lists a three-year warranty, while ARIA Procurement Partners lists five years. Confirm the warranty terms for the exact unit, seller and purchase date in writing, including what the compressor-parts extension covers.
Prices shown by the consulted listings are not verified current offers. CHOICE displays $2,099 but says it has no current prices or retailer links; ARIA displays an RRP of $1,699. Check a same-date delivered quote, including regional delivery and installation, and verify stock, return terms and warranty before buying. ARIA Procurement Partners’ listing is a reference for its displayed RRP, not a live market quote.

Setup, care and basic troubleshooting
The user manual covers the CCD500NS and four similar refrigerator models, so its instructions are shared-model guidance. It says to keep the appliance upright for about four hours after unpacking before connecting it, then allow four to six hours of cooling before loading food. Follow the instructions supplied with your specific unit if they differ.

- Cleaning: Turn off and unplug the refrigerator first. The manual recommends a damp cloth with lukewarm water and dishwashing liquid, and keeping door gaskets clean and dry.
- Vibration: The manual identifies uneven placement or contact with a wall as possible causes. Check that the unit is level and not touching surrounding surfaces.
- Moisture: Humid conditions, doors left open or poor sealing can contribute, according to the manual.
- Repairs: R600a is flammable. Avoid damaging refrigerant tubing during transport or installation; the manual directs users to authorized service personnel rather than attempting repairs or modifications.
The manual says the refrigerator is designed for normal domestic use, not commercial use. For faults, it directs Australian users to the CHiQ service centre at 1300 796 688. Read the shared-model user manual.

How to judge it against other large refrigerators
For a useful comparison, match capacity and fridge/freezer split, external size and manufacturer-confirmed clearances, then compare public independent results for temperature performance, noise and running costs. Also check warranty scope, ice and water features, and a same-date delivered-and-installed price. CHOICE’s public page confirms that it tracks several performance measures for this model, but does not expose its model-specific outcomes without membership. Avoid treating its public specifications alone as proof that this refrigerator outperforms a competing model.
