The CHiQ CCD500NB is a black, 503 L French-door refrigerator that CHOICE lists as tested in 2024 and discontinued. Its visible listing gives useful size and energy specifications, but the Expert Rating and detailed performance scores are members-only. That means there is not enough public evidence here to judge how well it cools, how noisy it is or whether it is good value—and the listed A$2,199 should not be treated as a current price or proof of stock.

CHOICE classifies the CCD500NB as a large French-door refrigerator in the 451–525 L size band. Its visible specifications describe a black model with two crispers and 503 L total claimed capacity.

Capacity and annual energy use are listed claims, not independent measurements of what a particular household will experience. No comparable models or same-basis energy figures are available here, so the 397 kWh/year figure alone cannot establish whether this fridge is efficient relative to alternatives.

Will it fit your kitchen?
Use the suggested installation envelope, not just the refrigerator’s body dimensions, as an initial space check. CHOICE lists 183 cm high × 96 cm wide × 75 cm deep for installation, compared with the appliance’s 178 × 86 × 70 cm dimensions.

- Measure the available opening, including any cabinetry, trim and obstructions.
- Check the required clearances against the installation instructions for the exact model before buying or arranging delivery.
- Check door swing and access to drawers and crispers in the intended position.
- Measure the delivery route—doorways, hallways, lifts and turns—not just the final kitchen space.
The cited CHOICE page does not provide door-open clearance or delivery-path dimensions. The listed envelope therefore does not confirm that the doors will open fully in your kitchen or that the appliance can pass through your access route.
What CHOICE’s 2024 test tells you—and what it does not
CHOICE identifies 2024 as the CCD500NB’s test year. Its visible page names test categories including keeping food fresh, temperature stability and evenness, response to outside temperature, heat-load processing, running cost and noise. However, the Expert Rating and detailed component scores are restricted to members. The public information confirms that the model was tested and which areas were assessed; it does not show the results.

The page was accessed in 2026, but does not establish that this is a live retailer price; the discontinued label also does not show whether any remaining stock exists. Confirm the exact model number, current stock, delivered price and installation terms directly with a retailer before making a purchase decision.

If you cannot verify stock, compare currently available refrigerators rather than assuming a similar model number is an equivalent replacement. For a useful comparison, check usable fridge and freezer capacity, temperature-test results, energy rating and claimed annual consumption on the same market and year basis, required clearances, noise, warranty and service coverage, and the delivered price including installation.

Verify the full model number on the appliance and its documentation; details for the CCD500NS should not be transferred to the CCD500NB.
