The CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro Compact Ultra-Wideband pairs a compact 70% layout with low-profile mechanical switches, UWB wireless, and a manufacturer-rated 8000 Hz polling rate in both wired and wireless modes. Its distinctive connectivity does not by itself establish a real-world speed advantage, and hands-on coverage points to practical drawbacks: awkward, limited remapping and a bulky wireless puck. CHERRY describes it as its first gaming keyboard with UWB, not a verified worldwide first across all brands.
What makes the K63W Pro distinctive?
CHERRY XTRFY announced the K63W Pro on July 2, 2026. The company called it “the first gaming keyboard from CHERRY XTRFY featuring Ultra-Wideband connectivity.” That is a claim about the brand’s product lineup; it does not establish that the keyboard was the first mechanical gaming keyboard with UWB from any manufacturer. CHERRY XTRFY’s announcement gives the company’s wording and launch context.
The headline features are UWB wireless through the included dongle and an 8000 Hz polling-rate specification. CHERRY lists that rate for wired and wireless use on its official product page. Polling rate describes how frequently a device reports input; it is not a direct measurement of end-to-end latency or a guarantee that a player will perceive a difference. The available evidence does not include an independent controlled test of the keyboard’s latency or a head-to-head performance comparison.

How does UWB wireless compare with wired use?
For wireless use, the K63W Pro connects through its included UWB dongle. Wired use is through the included USB-A-to-USB-C cable. CHERRY specifies 8000 Hz polling in both modes, so its published rate does not distinguish wired from wireless operation. No independent measurement in the available sources establishes whether either mode has lower latency, greater reliability, or a perceptible advantage in play.
The practical distinction is setup: wireless operation occupies a USB port for the dongle and gives up a cable-free desk arrangement; wired use avoids reliance on the dongle and battery. TechRadar’s reviewer found the wireless puck large and impractical, a subjective assessment based on a few days using the keyboard in both modes. That matters especially if the receiver will be moved often or plugged into a crowded setup.

What is the typing experience like?
The keyboard is a compact 70% model with CHERRY MX Low Profile 2.0 mechanical switches. Its 307 × 135 mm footprint leaves out keys found on full-size boards, so buyers who depend on a number pad or other dedicated keys should check the layout before choosing it. The board weighs 820 g, according to CHERRY.
TechRadar’s reviewer described the board as comfortable and liked its typing feel after using it for a few days. How long does the battery last?
CHERRY lists a 6000 mAh battery and claims “up to 1100 hours.” The company says duration depends on polling rate and LED settings, so the maximum is conditional rather than a runtime to expect under every configuration. The available sources do not provide an independent battery test or a specific test setup for that figure.

Remapping and software
TechRadar’s reviewer found the remapping options awkward and limited in their experience. CHERRY’s downloads page provides documentation and CHERRY Utility Software. The company describes general Utility functions such as key assignment, lighting customization, and profiles, while saying available features depend on the product description and release notes. Do not assume that every general software function applies to this specific keyboard.

Switch replacement
CHERRY lists the K63W Pro as not hot-swappable. Buyers who want to replace switches without soldering should treat that as a material limitation rather than assume the keyboard supports quick switch swaps.

Is the K63W Pro worth considering?
- It may suit you if you want a compact low-profile mechanical board, value the option of UWB wireless, and are comfortable with CHERRY’s stated features rather than relying on independently verified latency claims.
- Look elsewhere or compare carefully if you need a number pad, want hot-swappable switches, expect extensive remapping, or consider a large receiver inconvenient.
- Keep expectations grounded if the main attraction is 8000 Hz: CHERRY specifies the polling rate in both connection modes, but the cited sources do not establish a measurable or perceptible advantage over another keyboard.
