On a Galaxy phone or tablet, open Settings, tap your Samsung account name at the top, then tap Samsung Cloud. To check from a computer or another device, sign in at Samsung Cloud with your Samsung account and complete any two-step verification prompt. The screens and options can vary by device, software, carrier, and country.
Choose where to check Samsung Cloud

Samsung’s current Canada guide also gives this route to backup categories: Settings → Accounts and backup → Samsung Cloud → Back up data. Your device may present the controls differently.
How to see what is using Samsung Cloud
On a Galaxy device
- Open Settings.
- Tap the Samsung account name displayed at the top.
- Tap Samsung Cloud.
- Review the available storage, sync, and backup controls. To inspect selectable backup categories where offered, open Back up data.
The items shown on your device are the practical guide to what that model and account currently support. Samsung says availability varies by device model, operating system, country, and carrier.

- Go to support.samsungcloud.com.
- Sign in with the Samsung account used on your Galaxy device and complete any requested verification.
- Review the cloud usage, synced-app summaries, and backed-up devices and backup times shown for the account.
The portal is not a file browser for every synced item: synced apps may appear as summaries, and Samsung says individual synced app files cannot be viewed or downloaded there. Individual device backups also cannot be downloaded from the portal; recovery requires syncing or restoring to a compatible device.

What can take up Samsung Cloud backup space?
Samsung’s U.S. support page lists backup categories including call logs, messages, contacts, calendar, clock, settings, home screen, and app data. Samsung Canada’s guide, last updated September 11, 2026, gives examples such as device-stored contacts; alarms, clocks, and timers; accessibility, Wi-Fi, paired Bluetooth, and select display or security settings; home-screen layout; app installation files and Samsung app settings; and voice recordings. These are examples from different regional guides, not a promise that every category is supported on every Galaxy device.
Samsung Canada says files larger than 1 GB cannot be backed up to Samsung Cloud and notes that some large message files may not be backed up. That is a file-size limitation in the Canada guide, not a statement about the account’s total storage capacity.

Also distinguish a device backup from continuous syncing. Samsung lists a smaller set of synced items separately from its backup categories; a sync keeps supported data aligned across connected devices, while a backup is intended as a recovery copy.
Samsung Cloud does not show your Gallery photo quota
Samsung’s U.S. guidance says Gallery photos and videos cannot be backed up to Samsung Cloud. Gallery photos may instead use a separate service, such as OneDrive or Google Photos, depending on the device and market. That means a Gallery or photo-storage warning may concern the signed-in Microsoft or Google account rather than Samsung Cloud.

Where Gallery-to-OneDrive integration is available, Samsung U.S. says you can check the Microsoft cloud-storage capacity from the Gallery app’s OneDrive settings. Look in Gallery → Menu → Settings for the sync or storage controls offered on your device. For a separate camera-backup app, check storage and backup status in that app under the account currently signed in.
Regional support can change: Samsung Germany states that Gallery synchronization with OneDrive ended on September 30, 2026. That date applies to the German guidance and should not be treated as a worldwide cutoff. Check the current options in your country and on your device before relying on Gallery integration.

What to do when Samsung Cloud storage is full
- Check the signed-in Samsung account’s own storage display; the official pages cited here do not establish one universal current Samsung Cloud quota.
- Review which backup categories are enabled and remove only data or categories you no longer need.
- If space pressure relates to photos or videos, inspect the storage account used by the applicable Gallery integration or photo-backup app, rather than assuming it is Samsung Cloud.
- Before deleting anything, confirm the selected device and category. Removing a backup or category deletes that cloud copy; Samsung says recovery from a portal backup requires a compatible device because individual backups cannot be downloaded.
Samsung’s U.S. instructions describe deleting a backup from the phone or tablet via Samsung Cloud → Restore data, choosing a device, then More options → Delete backups. The portal also supports deleting a whole device backup or selected categories. Labels can vary, so read the confirmation screen before proceeding.
Check the correct account before making changes
Samsung Cloud backup, OneDrive storage, and Google Photos storage are separate account and service contexts. Confirm the account shown in the relevant settings or app before freeing space. In particular, photo synchronization and backup are not identical: synchronization can carry changes between connected devices, while a backup is meant to remain available for recovery. Deleting synced content may therefore have different effects from deleting a separate backup copy.
