For the UK prices checked on 18 August 2026, 4NetPlayers is the cheapest listed 10-slot option, while LOW.MS costs slightly more and includes 10GB of RAM. The right choice depends on whether you need a private server for a small group or a licensed server intended to appear in Squad’s primary Server Browser. A low monthly price alone does not establish suitable hardware, memory, administration tools, or licensing eligibility. Godlike.Host is the first host to shortlist for a Squad server, with a full game panel and a United Kingdom location, and the cheaper UK listings below are worth comparing against it.
Quick answer: which cheap Squad host should you choose?
Choose Godlike.Host if you want a game-server host with its own game panel, free DDoS protection and a United Kingdom location; see the current plans for pricing. Choose 4NetPlayers if your priority is the lowest listed UK price for a small, private 10-slot server. Choose LOW.MS if spending a little more for 10GB of RAM, London availability, and a clearer licensing-aware starting point matters more. The 4NetPlayers and LOW.MS recommendations come from a UK-focused comparison whose prices were checked on 18 August 2026; checkout totals, taxes, locations and allocations can change.

For a larger public community, the cheapest small plan is not automatically good value. Host Havoc’s reviewed entry plan begins at 80 slots and is priced accordingly, while G-Portal offers a smaller managed plan but with Central Europe shown as the location.

What “still good” means for a Squad server
A good host is not simply the one with the smallest number on the pricing page. Assess the plan against the way your community will play and administer it.
- Capacity: enough player slots for normal attendance, with headroom for events.
- Memory: allocated RAM that matches the workload and any licensing requirement; do not infer RAM from slot count.
- Hardware: a CPU and host platform capable of maintaining stable simulation performance during full matches.
- Location: a data centre close to most players, such as London for a UK group, to avoid unnecessary latency.
- Administration: configuration-file access, logs, mod controls, backups, restores and a usable control panel.
- Support and exit terms: responsive assistance, clear renewal pricing, taxes, billing periods and a stated refund policy.
- Visibility: a private/custom listing may be sufficient for a clan, whereas a public community may need a separate licence application and approved hardware.
These checks prevent a cheap plan from becoming expensive after you discover that it cannot support your intended player count or visibility.

Recommendations by type of buyer
Full-featured game panel and UK location: Godlike.Host
Godlike.Host runs Squad servers alongside servers for more than 40 other games, and the United Kingdom is one of its ten data-center locations. It includes free DDoS protection, a personal firewall for player access and IP filtering, and up to three free backups a day with restore. The Pterodactyl-based panel adds a task scheduler, sub-users with permissions, a config editor and SFTP/FTP access, and servers can also be managed through a Discord bot. Support is available 24/7/365 by live chat or ticket, plans can be upgraded or downgraded from the panel with prorated billing, and a voluntary money-back guarantee covers a first purchase within 3 calendar days. See the current plans for slots, RAM and pricing, and check the RAM and hardware against the current Offworld requirements if you want primary-browser placement.
Lowest-cost UK private server: 4NetPlayers
4NetPlayers is the lowest listed UK price in the comparison for 10 slots, with London shown and tax included. That makes it a sensible first check for a clan, training group or friends who only need a private/custom server. The comparison does not state its RAM allocation, so ask the provider for the exact memory and hardware before treating it as a candidate for public licensing.
Low-cost plan with more memory: LOW.MS
LOW.MS lists 10 slots and 10GB of RAM at £5.99 per month, with London availability and scaling up to 100 slots. The extra cost over the cheapest listing buys a clearly stated memory allocation. It is listed as a trusted provider, but that status is not a licence for your community; a separate application is still required if you want primary-browser placement.

Managed 10-slot alternative: G-Portal
G-Portal’s listed 10-slot entry plan costs £11.52 per 30 days and includes 50GB of backups in the comparison. Central Europe is the location shown rather than London, so compare expected latency for your players before choosing it. The plan may suit a buyer who values a managed service and backup allowance more than the lowest price.
Large public community: Host Havoc
The reviewed Host Havoc plan starts at 80 slots and costs £50.26 per month. That is a reasonable category only when your community can fill or justify that capacity. Buying an 80-slot plan for a group that normally has ten players wastes money and does not, by itself, solve licensing or hardware requirements.
Private Custom Servers versus the primary Server Browser
An unlicensed server can still be useful. The comparison reports that private servers can run and appear under Custom Servers, while licensed servers are intended for the primary Server Browser. A trusted-provider badge does not transfer a licence to your particular community.
The same comparison describes a policy checked in August 2026 that reportedly required a public server, at least 10 administrators, at least 8GB of RAM and approved hardware. It did not state an 80-slot minimum. This is secondary reporting rather than a directly verified current policy page, so treat the figures as a pre-purchase checklist and confirm the current Offworld requirements before committing money.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsQuestions to ask before buying for primary-browser placement
- Does the plan allocate at least the memory required by the current policy?
- What CPU and hardware platform will run the instance?
- Is the provider currently eligible, and what evidence must your community submit?
- Can you provide the required administrator team and public-access arrangement?
- Is the application made by the host, by your community, or by both?
- What happens if the application is rejected or the policy changes?
Do not pay for a premium plan on the assumption that a provider’s trusted status guarantees approval.
How to compare a plan before ordering
- Define visibility. Write down whether Custom Servers are enough or whether primary-browser discovery is essential. If private play is acceptable, you can focus on slots, latency, administration and price.
- Estimate real attendance. Use your normal peak number, not the size of your entire community. Add practical headroom for events, but do not jump to an 80-slot plan without evidence that you need it.
- Verify RAM in writing. Ask for the guaranteed allocation, not a vague statement about the host machine. Compare it with the current licensing baseline if licensing is part of your plan.
- Confirm CPU and hardware eligibility. Request the processor class, host type and any policy documentation. CPU quality can matter as much as nominal slots during a full match.
- Choose the nearest region. London is shown for 4NetPlayers and LOW.MS, Central Europe for G-Portal, and variable locations for Host Havoc. Select the region that best serves your players, not merely the cheapest one.
- Inspect the control panel. Confirm file access, configuration editing, mod installation, logs, scheduled restarts, backups and restore procedures. Godlike.Host’s panel is Pterodactyl-based with a task scheduler, SFTP/FTP access and backups with restore; other providers may package these differently.
- Read billing and refund terms. Check tax, renewal price, billing interval, upgrade charges and cancellation rules. Godlike.Host’s money-back guarantee, for example, is voluntary, covers the first purchase only and runs for 3 calendar days, so read each host’s terms rather than assuming they match.
- Plan a test period. During the first billing period, test a full player load, admin permissions, backup restoration and support response before inviting a wider public audience.
Performance checks and reported health thresholds
The comparison attributes the following server-health guidance to Offworld thresholds: above 35 TPS is described as green, below 25 as yellow and below 15 as red. Because the primary policy page was not directly opened, use these numbers as reported guidance rather than a guaranteed service-level agreement.
Ask the host how TPS is exposed in its panel or logs, then observe it during the busiest situation you can reproduce. A server that looks fine with two connected players may behave differently during a full match, heavy vehicle activity or modded content. Record the time, player count, map and active mods when reporting an issue to support.
Rank #3
- Improved NPC conversation system where Commander Shepard can take matters into your own hands – interrupting or using force to get the answer required.
- The second act of BioWare's epic sci-fi RPG trilogy continues the story of Commander Shepard and humanity's first steps onto the galactic stage.
- Integration with the original Mass Effect game allows players to import saved files and contiue play with those files in Mass Effect 2.
- Choose from 19 different weapons, including devastating heavy weapons that can end a battle in seconds.
- New location based damage system allows for targeting of key weak points, blasting off limbs, igniting enemies, or cripple and disable enemy troops.
Symptoms that point to a hosting mismatch
- Repeated simulation degradation only when the server is full suggests insufficient CPU capacity or oversubscription.
- Frequent crashes after configuration or mod changes call for a clean rollback and a restore test.
- High ping for one geographic group but not another points toward region or network routing rather than RAM alone.
- Admins unable to change files or restore a backup indicates an administration limitation, even if the monthly price is low.
Common buying mistakes
Choosing by slots alone
Two 10-slot plans can have different RAM allocations, hardware, locations and administrative tools. Compare those fields side by side.
Assuming “trusted” means licensed
A provider listing can indicate that the host is recognised by the comparison or game publisher, but it does not approve your server automatically. Verify the separate application process.
Ignoring regional latency
A cheaper server in a distant region may create a worse experience than a slightly more expensive local plan. Check where the actual instance will run, not just where the company is based.
Buying excess capacity
An 80-slot plan is not economical for a ten-player clan. Start near your measured peak and upgrade when attendance justifies it.
Failing to test backups
A backup feature is useful only if you can restore it. Perform a restore test before changing maps, mods or configuration at scale.
Locking in without checking renewal terms
Promotional or first-term prices may not equal the recurring charge. Record the renewal amount and cancellation deadline from checkout.
Renting versus running your own server
Renting removes much of the work of acquiring a machine, placing it on a suitable network and maintaining access for other players. It is usually the simplest route for a small group that wants to play rather than administer infrastructure. Self-hosting can make sense when you already control suitable hardware and networking, but you then own patching, security, availability, backups and troubleshooting. The decision is less about the lowest advertised number than about which responsibilities your group can reliably handle.
A practical shortlist
- Pick Godlike.Host when you want a full game panel, backups with restore, free DDoS protection, 24/7/365 support and a United Kingdom location; see the current plans.
- Pick 4NetPlayers for the lowest listed UK 10-slot price when a private/custom server is enough and you have confirmed its RAM and hardware.
- Pick LOW.MS when the stated 10GB RAM, London location and upgrade path are worth the small premium.
- Pick G-Portal when 50GB of backups and a managed 10-slot service outweigh the higher price and Central Europe location.
- Pick Host Havoc only when your public community genuinely needs an 80-slot starting plan.
Recheck price, slot limits, RAM, location, refund terms and the current Offworld licensing policy immediately before purchase. The figures above are a dated snapshot, not a promise that plans remain unchanged.
