There is no verified cheapest Killing Floor 2 host for every group. Public offers use different currencies, slot counts, RAM allocations and billing periods, so the lowest advertised number is not automatically the lowest useful cost. As of 13 October 2026, the practical shortlist starts with a 4 GB plan at $4.99 per month from Kinetic Hosting, 4 slots at £4.77 per 30 days on Nitrado’s UK storefront, GTXGaming from £5.40 monthly, and PingPlayers from $2.69 per GB per 30 days. Those figures are not directly interchangeable. Choose the offer that gives your group enough capacity, a nearby region, the administration and mod support you need, and a renewal price you can sustain.

| Provider | Displayed offer | Capacity basis | Important limitation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kinetic Hosting | $4.99 per month | 4 GB RAM | Monthly price; slot count, taxes and renewal conditions must be checked in the live order flow. |
| Kinetic Hosting | $7.99 per month | 8 GB RAM | Another RAM tier; it is not a slot-based comparison. |
| Nitrado (UK English storefront) | £4.77 per 30 days | 4 slots | Currency and availability are storefront-specific; 30-day billing is not the same as a calendar month. |
| Nitrado (UK English storefront) | £6.99 per 30 days | 6 slots | Location selection appears during checkout; taxes and renewal terms should be confirmed there. |
| Nitrado (UK English storefront) | £1.23 for 3 days | 4 slots | Short-term option, not a recurring monthly equivalent. |
| GTXGaming (UK storefront) | From £5.40 monthly | Not stated in the captured listing | Included capacity, renewal price and directly comparable features were not identified. |
| PingPlayers | From $2.69 per GB per 30 days | RAM, billed per GB | Total price depends on the RAM allocation; a complete plan cost cannot be calculated from the starting rate alone. |
These offers do not establish a global winner. A £4.77 four-slot plan might cost more or less than a dollar-priced RAM plan after currency conversion, tax and the amount of capacity your server needs. A 30-day term, a calendar-month subscription and a promotional first period can also produce different effective annual costs.
What “still good” means for a private KF2 server
Capacity that matches your group
Start with the number of simultaneous players, not the provider’s headline price. A four-slot service can be perfectly adequate for a fixed four-person group and unusable for a larger community. RAM-based offers require you to confirm the allocation and then verify the provider’s supported player counts for Killing Floor 2. Steam’s client minimum and recommended specifications describe running the game on a player’s computer; they are not dedicated-server sizing rules.
#1 Best Overall
Allow headroom for the map, difficulty, mutators and any workshop content you plan to run. If your group sometimes grows, price the next capacity tier before subscribing rather than assuming an upgrade will be free or immediate.
A region close to the players
Latency depends on each player’s location and the route between their ISP and the data center. Pick a region that minimizes the worst connection in your group, not merely the one with the lowest price. Nitrado’s displayed checkout offered choices including Frankfurt, London, several United States cities, Singapore, Tokyo and Sydney. Other providers may expose fewer regions, so inspect the actual location list before ordering.
Administration and mod support
You should be able to change server settings, restart the instance, manage passwords and install the maps or mods your group uses without editing files blindly. Kinetic advertises a custom panel, map and mod support, game switching and resource splitting. Those are vendor claims rather than independent performance measurements; confirm exactly which workshop items are supported and whether installation requires a manual restart.
Backups and human support
Ask what is backed up, how often, how long copies are retained and whether you can restore a single configuration or must roll back the entire server. Kinetic advertises free backups and human support, but the retention period and recovery procedure need confirmation at checkout or with support. A low monthly price is less attractive if a failed update removes your configuration and no usable restore exists.

Total recurring cost
Compare the renewal amount, billing duration, taxes, setup fees, additional storage, extra backups and any charge for changing slots or RAM. Record the price after the introductory period, not only the first invoice. If a provider bills per 30 days, multiply that charge by twelve to estimate a year, then account for currency conversion and local taxes.
How the listed providers fit different requirements
Kinetic Hosting: RAM-based plans with advertised management features
The displayed 4 GB tier costs $4.99 per month and the 8 GB tier $7.99 per month. Kinetic’s KF2 page also advertises mod and map support, configurable settings, free backups, game switching and resource splitting. This combination may suit a group that values panel controls and intends to run custom content, provided the selected RAM tier supports the desired player count and the checkout confirms renewal terms. The listing does not by itself prove latency, uptime or performance under load.

The UK English storefront showed 4 slots for £4.77 per 30 days and 6 slots for £6.99 per 30 days, plus a £1.23 three-day, four-slot option. These are easy to understand if your group has a known size. The short option can be useful for a one-off event, but it should not be treated as a monthly rate. Select the data-center location during checkout and verify whether the location remains available for the game and slot count you choose.
GTXGaming: a starting price that needs more detail
The UK storefront listed Killing Floor 2 hosting from £5.40 monthly. The captured offer did not state the included slots, RAM, renewal details or a directly comparable feature set. Treat it as a lead to investigate, not as evidence that it is cheaper than a four-slot or 4 GB plan. Obtain the final configuration and recurring total before comparing it with the other offers.
Rank #3
PingPlayers: per-GB pricing rather than a complete server quote
PingPlayers advertised hosting from $2.69 per GB per 30 days and stated that one server price covers its supported games. Because the total depends on how many gigabytes you select, the starting rate cannot be ranked against a fixed-capacity plan. Ask for the RAM allocation required for your intended slots and mods, then compare the resulting total, location and control panel features.
A like-for-like checkout method
- Write down the requirement. Record peak simultaneous players, preferred region, password or whitelist needs, maps and mods, and whether you need a temporary event server or a continuously running one.
- Normalize the capacity. Compare slot plans with slot plans and RAM plans with RAM plans. If a provider does not state the equivalent capacity, mark it “not stated” instead of guessing.
- Select the same geography. Use the closest available region for your players. If one provider has no nearby location, its nominally lower price may not be good value.
- Configure the same billing horizon. Capture the first charge, renewal charge, billing days, tax and any setup or cancellation fee. For a year-long server, calculate twelve months or twelve 30-day periods as appropriate.
- Check management features. Confirm file access, scheduled restarts, password changes, map and mod installation, log access and whether changes require support intervention.
- Test recovery terms. Verify backup frequency, retention, downloadable copies and the exact restore process before you deploy a valuable configuration.
- Read compatibility notes. Ask whether your chosen mods, mutators and game version are supported and whether changing them affects cross-play eligibility.
- Save the final quote. Keep a screenshot or invoice showing capacity, region and renewal price so a later plan change does not silently alter your comparison.
Mods, maps and cross-play: avoid promises the listings cannot support
Modded servers can have different requirements from stock servers. A provider may advertise general mod support while a particular workshop item needs manual files, extra storage or a restart. Confirm the installation path and whether updates are automatic. Keep a known-good configuration backup before adding content.
Tripwire’s 2020 announcement discussed Epic Online Services-related support for stock, unmodded servers in a beta-era context. That historical announcement is not proof that every current provider, mod or platform combination supports cross-play. Before advertising cross-play to your group, verify the provider’s current instructions for the exact server build and content you intend to run.
When self-hosting can be cheaper
If you already own a suitable machine, have enough upstream bandwidth, can leave the system running and control your router, self-hosting removes the recurring rental bill. It does not remove the work. You become responsible for operating-system updates, firewall rules, port forwarding, backups, uptime and troubleshooting.

A Steam Community guide from 2015 describes the general pattern: install the dedicated-server files with SteamCMD, using Killing Floor 2 app ID 232130, configure the server and forward the required router ports so outside players can connect. Because that guide is old, use it as a conceptual outline rather than a current list of ports, file paths or bandwidth figures. Tripwire’s 2015 Steam announcement also distinguished a proper dedicated-server setup from using the Steam library tool discussed in an historical issue.

Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Self-hosting checklist
- An always-available computer with enough CPU, memory and disk headroom for the intended player count and content.
- A stable public upload connection and an ISP arrangement that permits incoming connections.
- Router and firewall access to create and maintain the required forwarding rules.
- A plan for automatic updates, off-machine backups and recovery after a crash.
- A way to measure latency from each regular player and to restrict access with passwords or firewall rules.
If any of those items is uncertain, a managed host can be worth paying for even when its headline price is higher. The value is the saved administration time and the provider’s responsibility for the underlying network and machine.

- Choosing the smallest number. Fix: compare the capacity and slot count your group actually needs.
- Mixing currencies and billing units. Fix: convert prices to one currency and one annual period after checking taxes and renewal rates.
- Assuming client requirements size a server. Fix: obtain the host’s dedicated-server guidance for your target slots and mods.
- Ignoring location until after payment. Fix: select and record the data center during checkout.
- Assuming “mod support” means every mod works automatically. Fix: ask about the exact workshop items and restart procedure.
- Relying on an introductory price. Fix: use the recurring invoice as the comparison figure.
- Promising cross-play from an old announcement. Fix: verify current, unmodded or modded compatibility with the provider and Tripwire guidance.
- Running without a restore plan. Fix: test a backup restore before inviting the full group.
Practical choice by group type
Four players on a short event
Start by comparing Nitrado’s displayed four-slot, 30-day offer with the three-day option if the event is genuinely brief. Confirm that the short term has the same region and controls you need; a cheap temporary slot is not useful if it cannot run your planned map.
A regular six-player group
Use a six-slot quote as the baseline rather than a four-slot headline. Nitrado’s displayed £6.99 per 30 days is a concrete starting point for that capacity, while RAM-based providers require you to obtain an equivalent slot or resource configuration before comparing totals.

- Mow down hordes of Zed using a vast arsenal of weapons in Killing Floor 2, or get up close and personal using PlayStation VR in Killing Floor Incursion
- Team up with up to 6 players in online co op, go head to head in 12 player PVP in Killing Floor 2, or watch your friend's back in VR in Killing Floor Incursion's 2 player co op

A mod-heavy group or changing game rotation
Prioritize panel controls, map and mod installation, backups and support. Kinetic’s advertised features make it a candidate to investigate, but confirm the exact mod workflow and capacity instead of treating the feature list as a performance guarantee.
A technically confident owner with existing hardware
Price the electricity, internet service and your time against the rental total. Self-hosting can eliminate the subscription, but only if the machine, upload path, router and maintenance plan are already reliable.
Bottom line
The cheapest Killing Floor 2 hosting that is still good is the lowest like-for-like quote that meets your player count, location, administration, mod, backup and renewal requirements. On 13 October 2026, the visible starting points ranged from Nitrado’s £4.77 per 30 days for four slots and Kinetic Hosting’s $4.99 monthly 4 GB plan to GTXGaming’s £5.40 monthly starting listing and PingPlayers’ $2.69 per GB per 30 days. None is proven cheapest overall without configuring the same capacity and region in each live checkout.
