Best low-cost starting point: HostMyGame’s June 14, 2026 comparison lists Hosterfy Copper at €4.99 per month with 4 GB of RAM, two player slots and mod support. That is a dated secondary-source listing, not proof that it is the cheapest plan at your checkout today. Confirm your region, billing period, renewal price, slot policy and included features before paying.
The right bargain is the least expensive plan that can run your group reliably. A low headline price is not “good” if the server is far from your players, blocks file or mod access, has no usable backups, or becomes much more expensive after an introductory month.
What “cheap but still good” means for a Hytale server
For this decision, “good” is an operating standard rather than a marketing label. A suitable plan should provide enough assigned memory for your intended world and mod load, acceptable latency from a nearby data-center region, access to the files and mods you need, a practical backup and restore process, a transparent recurring charge, and a straightforward way to upgrade.
No independent head-to-head benchmark in the available evidence establishes that one inexpensive host delivers better tick performance, uptime or player capacity than another. Provider pages and comparison tables can describe features, but treat performance and uptime claims as vendor statements unless you can verify them with your own monitoring or an independent test.

The lowest price is a reference point, not a universal winner
HostMyGame’s comparison was published June 14, 2026. It reports prices supplied by the listed hosts, but checkout pages, promotions, currencies and regional availability can change. Use the €4.99 figure as a benchmark for what a low advertised tier looked like on that date, then verify the live order page.
Why a two-slot plan may be too small
The Copper listing includes two slots. That can suit a solo test with one invited player, but it will not accommodate a larger private group unless the provider lets you add slots or move to another plan. Do not assume that 4 GB automatically means four players, or that a slot count is calculated from RAM. Ask the host which limit is enforced and whether spectator, staff or reserved slots count.

The following figures come from HostMyGame’s June 14, 2026 comparison. They are monthly plan prices as reported by that comparison, not independently verified live checkout totals.
| Reported plan | Price per month | Memory | Player slots | Reported features or context |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hosterfy Copper | €4.99 | 4 GB | 2 | Mod support listed |
| Hosterfy Iron | €6.99 | 6 GB | 3 | Plan listing in the same comparison |
| Hosterfy Gold | €10.99 | 8 GB | 8 | Plan listing in the same comparison |
| Minestrator My box 8 | €11.99 | 8 GB | Not stated in the comparison | Plan listing in the same comparison |
| GGServers Iron Sword | €15.15 | 6 GB | Not stated in the comparison | Plan listing in the same comparison |
The comparison describes a tracked range of €4.99 to €80.84 per month across four hosts. The upper figure is a reported higher-tier price, not a recommendation that most small communities need it. The table’s values should be read with the publication date and the source beside them; a discount, tax, billing term or regional currency can make your total different.
How much does Hytale hosting cost after a promotion?
An introductory price can make a plan appear cheaper than its normal renewal. A second provider comparison reports an Apex 4 GB plan at $11.24 for the introductory month and $14.99 recurring. It also reports a GPORTAL 4 GB promotion at $10.08 per 30 days versus $13.44 regular. Those amounts are time- and market-sensitive examples, not current universal prices.

How much RAM does a Hytale server need?
Hypixel Studios’ Hytale Server Manual, updated October 12, 2026, states: The Hytale server can run on any device with at least 4GB of memory and Java 25.
The manual supports both x64 and arm64 systems. This is an installation floor: it confirms that the server software can run with those baseline requirements, but it does not promise a particular player count, view distance, modpack or uptime level.
Use 4 GB as a starting floor
A 4 GB plan is a sensible low-cost trial for a very small, lightly modded world when the provider’s slot policy matches your group. Keep operating-system overhead, panel processes, backups and monitoring in mind when comparing “4 GB” plans. Two hosts can advertise the same memory while allocating it differently or placing different limits on CPU time and storage.
Move up when the workload grows
More simultaneous players, larger worlds, heavier simulation distance and mods can increase memory and CPU demand. The evidence does not establish a safe player count for any named plan, so use actual server behavior to decide when to upgrade: repeated lag during normal activity, memory pressure, crashes, or a provider dashboard showing sustained resource saturation are stronger signals than a plan label.
Managed hosting versus running Hytale yourself
Managed Hytale hosting
A managed plan bundles the machine, operating system and a control panel maintained by the provider. It is usually the simplest route when you want to invite players rather than administer a server. Look for one-click or documented server installation, file-manager or SFTP access, mod and configuration support, scheduled backups, restore testing, console access, and a documented upgrade path.
Managed hosting does not remove every responsibility. You still need to secure administrator credentials, keep a copy of important world files, check how restores work, and read the acceptable-use and suspension rules. Ask whether support will help with Hytale-specific errors or only with the underlying virtual machine.
DIY on a VPS or dedicated machine
The official manual documents downloading the server files, installation choices, authentication and running a dedicated server. It recommends the downloader CLI for production servers and provides OAuth-based authentication steps. This route gives you control over Java, files, automation and network settings, but you become responsible for updates, firewall rules, backups, monitoring, authentication credentials and recovery.

Plug-and-play design requires no extra setup, adapting to gaming, live streaming, office work, online learning, and home entertainment scenarios.
A VPS may look cheaper on a monthly invoice, yet the reviewed evidence does not prove that DIY costs less after administration time, backup storage, monitoring and outages are counted. A home machine also adds electricity, upload bandwidth, router configuration and exposure to residential connection failures. Choose DIY because you want administrative control and can maintain it, not because the advertised compute price alone looks lower.

How to compare the cheapest plans step by step
- Define the group. Write down the expected concurrent players, whether the world is private or public, the mods you expect to run, and the regions where players live.
- Filter by enforced capacity. Check assigned RAM, CPU limits, storage, player-slot rules and whether slots can be changed without migrating the world. A 4 GB listing with two slots is a different product from a 4 GB listing with an uncapped policy.
- Choose the nearest practical region. A slightly higher monthly price in a nearby data center can produce a better experience than the absolute cheapest remote location. Check the provider’s region list and ask whether you can move regions later.
- Verify mod and file access. Confirm that you can upload server files, edit configuration, install the mods you intend to use, and retrieve the world if you leave. “Mod support” in a comparison table is not a substitute for checking the panel’s actual tools.
- Inspect backups and restoration. Find the backup frequency, retention period, storage location, restore procedure and whether restoring overwrites the current world. Make one test restore before your community invests time in the server.
- Calculate renewal cost. Record the first charge, recurring charge, billing interval, taxes and any coupon expiry. Compare like-for-like monthly totals rather than mixing a 30-day promotion with an annual price.
- Test the upgrade and exit path. Ask how RAM or slots are increased, whether the change requires downtime, whether the IP changes, and how you download the complete world and configuration for migration.
- Check support before purchase. Read the support hours, response channels and scope. A provider that answers billing questions quickly may still offer limited help for Java, authentication or mod conflicts.
Choosing a tier for common group sizes
Solo testing or two players
Start with the lowest tier that meets the official 4 GB and Java 25 baseline and has a slot policy covering both players. Keep a local copy of the world and use the first sessions to observe memory use, crashes and latency. Do not pay for a large tier solely because a provider advertises it as “premium” when your workload is a small test.
A small private group
For more than two people, the Copper listing’s two-slot limit is not enough. A plan with a higher stated slot allowance, such as the reported three-slot or eight-slot tiers in the comparison, may be a better fit, but the slot number still does not establish performance. Confirm that the provider counts only concurrent players and that mods are allowed on the selected tier.
A growing community or modded server
Prioritize an upgrade path, CPU allocation, backup retention and file control over a tiny initial discount. Start at a tier you can expand without a forced migration, and document the restore process before inviting a wider audience. Because no independent benchmark covers these named plans, use a short paid trial and your own logs rather than assuming a published RAM number guarantees smooth play.

Common failure modes and fixes
The server starts but players experience lag
Check the server console and resource graphs during the lag window. Compare concurrent players, simulation settings and mod activity with the plan’s CPU and memory limits. If the provider allows it, reduce expensive settings first; otherwise move to a higher tier or a nearer region. A larger RAM number will not fix a distant route or a CPU throttle by itself.
The advertised price is unavailable
Promotions can expire, apply only to selected regions or require a longer billing term. Save the checkout total, renewal amount and included resources before ordering. If the price changes, compare another plan using the same memory, slot, region and backup requirements rather than comparing headline numbers alone.

You cannot restore or move the world
Use the panel’s export or file-transfer feature to maintain an independent copy. If a restore would overwrite the live world, stop the server, preserve the current files and restore into a separate location when possible. Ask support for the exact directory and database files required before cancelling service.
Authentication or Java errors prevent startup
Check that the server uses Java 25 and a supported x64 or arm64 environment, then follow the authentication procedure in the Hytale Server Manual. For a managed host, provide the console error and server version to support; for DIY, review credentials, permissions and the downloader process before changing unrelated settings.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsQuestions to ask before you pay
- Is the displayed price introductory, recurring or conditional on a coupon or annual term?
- How many concurrent player slots are included, and can that limit be changed independently of RAM?
- Which data-center regions are available, and can the world be moved between them?
- Can I upload mods and configuration files and download a complete copy of my world?
- How often are backups made, how long are they retained, and can I perform a restore test?
- What happens to my files and IP address if I upgrade, downgrade or cancel?
Bottom line
The strongest dated low-price reference is the €4.99-per-month Hosterfy Copper listing reported by HostMyGame on June 14, 2026, but its two-slot limit and unverified current checkout make it a starting point rather than a guaranteed winner. For a small test, match a 4 GB plan to the official Java 25 requirement, verify the slot policy, select a nearby region and confirm backups and renewal pricing. For a larger or modded group, pay for capacity and an upgrade path instead of optimizing for the smallest number on the page.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is 4 GB enough for a Hytale server?
The official Hytale Server Manual says the server can run on a device with at least 4 GB of memory and Java 25. That is a minimum to run the software, not a guaranteed player or mod capacity.
What is the cheapest Hytale hosting plan reported in 2026?
HostMyGame’s June 14, 2026 comparison reports Hosterfy Copper at €4.99 per month with 4 GB RAM and two slots. Verify the live checkout and renewal terms because the listing is dated.
Is a VPS cheaper than managed Hytale hosting?
The available evidence does not establish that DIY VPS hosting is cheaper after administration time, backups, monitoring and reliability costs. A VPS is mainly suitable when you want control and can maintain the server yourself.
