Godlike.Host is the first option to check for Core Keeper hosting. Its Core Keeper page offers a free server card for trying the panel before you pay; the free server must be extended every 3 hours, has limited panel features and sits in one location. For paid servers, see the current plans on Godlike.Host’s Core Keeper page.
Among the prices listed in the 2026 HostMyGame comparison, NitroServ has the lowest-priced Core Keeper plan: its four-slot tier is listed at €4.99 per month. That is a comparison-page price, not a guaranteed checkout total. Confirm the current currency, tax, renewal amount, billing period and any promotion before paying. The right budget choice also needs dependable backups, enough resources for your world, a suitable datacenter, update controls and workable support.
Current low-cost Core Keeper hosting options
The table starts with Godlike.Host, whose current plans are on its own page, and then covers the plans and prices explicitly listed in the 2026 comparison. It is a narrow comparison of three providers, not a census of every host and not a performance test. Prices, features and availability can change.

| NitroServ, 4 slots | 4 players | €4.99/month | Dedicated CPU resources, DDoS mitigation, automatic backups with 3-day and 30-day retention, NVMe storage and a France datacenter. | Features are reported listings; no independent uptime, latency or restore test is provided. |
| Minestrator, MyBox 4 | 4 players | €6.99/month | 4 GB RAM tier, with a French-language panel and support positioning. | RAM allocation is stated, but the sources do not establish performance for every world or mod set. |
| NitroServ, 8 slots | 8 players | €9.99/month | Listed as the lower-cost eight-player plan in this comparison. | Check whether the advertised capacity matches your intended concurrent players and resource use. |
| Minestrator, MyBox 8 | 8 players | €13.99/month | 8 GB RAM tier, with the same French-language support positioning. | This is a fixed RAM-tier choice; ask how upgrades work before ordering. |
Within the tracked four- and eight-player tiers, NitroServ is cheaper than the corresponding Minestrator listing. That supports a qualified comparison of these entries only; it does not prove the cheapest price in every country or across every provider.

What “still good” should mean
A cheap server is a poor deal if a corrupted save, overloaded machine or inconvenient region ruins a shared world. Evaluate the complete service rather than the headline monthly amount.
Capacity that matches your group
Choose the smallest slot tier that covers the number of people who may be online together. The compared plans use four- and eight-player capacities. Do not assume a host will accept a larger group because a plan sounds “unlimited”; confirm the supported maximum, how slots are counted and whether extra slots can be added without migrating the world.
Resources for your world and mods
Look for a stated allocation or a clear explanation of how CPU and memory are shared. NitroServ’s listing describes dedicated CPU resources, while Minestrator presents 4 GB and 8 GB RAM tiers. Those descriptions are useful signals, but they are not tested minimum requirements for every world size, mod collection or progression state. If you expect extensive automation, many entities or a heavily developed map, ask what happens when the instance reaches its resource limit and what an upgrade costs.
Backups you can actually restore
Check four separate details: how often backups run, how long they are retained, whether the files can be downloaded, and whether restoring one is included or charged as an add-on. The NitroServ listing specifies automatic backups with 3-day and 30-day retention. Minestrator is associated with SmartBackup. These are advertised features, not an independent restoration test, so ask for the restore procedure and whether a restore rolls back the entire world or selected files.

Network protection and location
DDoS mitigation can reduce the risk that malicious traffic makes a server unreachable; it does not guarantee low latency. NitroServ’s listing identifies France as its datacenter location. That may be convenient for European groups, while players elsewhere should check the available region and test the route during a trial or refund window if one exists. A provider should state the datacenter before payment, not only after deployment.
Updates, versions and mod policy
Core Keeper updates can require a matching server version. Favor a panel with an understandable update control, a visible current version and a way to make a backup before changing versions. Ask whether updates are manual or automatic, whether you can delay an update until your group is ready, and how the host handles mods, configuration files and rollback after a failed update. “Easy version updates” is a useful comparison criterion, but it does not establish that every update is risk-free.
Support and account controls
Confirm support hours, response channels and language. The comparison highlights French-language panel and support positioning for Minestrator. Also verify that you can access save files, invite other administrators, change the plan, cancel renewal and export the world without opening a ticket for every routine action.

Which listed plan fits which group?
Four players with a mostly standard world
A four-slot plan is the sensible starting point when no more than four people need to connect at once. NitroServ is the price leader in the listed comparison, while Minestrator costs more but states a 4 GB RAM tier. Decide whether the explicit RAM figure, language support or panel preference is worth the difference to your group. Keep a local copy of the save even when automatic backups are enabled.

Up to eight players
An eight-slot plan is appropriate when your group regularly exceeds four concurrent players or wants room for guests. NitroServ is the lower-cost eight-slot entry in the comparison; Minestrator’s alternative states an 8 GB RAM tier. Slot count alone does not describe CPU load, storage speed or mod tolerance, so ask both providers how the eight-player tier behaves under your expected workload.
Groups planning to grow
If your group may expand, compare the cost and risk of upgrading in place with starting on a larger tier. Confirm that the world, IP or connection details and configuration survive an upgrade. A low introductory price is less valuable if moving later requires a new instance or manual file transfer.

Monthly figures on comparison and provider pages can hide different commitments. Before ordering, check:

NitroServ versus Minestrator at a glance
NitroServ is the straightforward low-price choice in the tracked tiers and lists dedicated CPU resources, DDoS mitigation, NVMe storage, France-based hosting and two backup-retention windows. Minestrator costs more at both listed capacities but gives a clear RAM-tier description and French-language support positioning. Neither listing supplies independent measurements of uptime, latency, support response or restore success. Treat the choice as a fit-and-terms decision, not a proven performance ranking.

Self-hosting may beat renting in specific households
Core Keeper’s dedicated server can run on a spare home computer. If that machine is already powered on, self-hosting avoids a recurring hosting invoice and gives you direct access to the files and settings. A cost guide estimates electricity, internet, hardware depreciation and maintenance time, but those inputs vary by household, location and equipment; they are not universal prices.
Renting is often the more practical option when the world must remain online while your computer is off, when your internet connection is not suitable for hosting, or when nobody wants to apply updates, monitor the process and maintain backups. Compare the value of your time, not just the monthly bill. Self-hosting is not automatically cheaper once electricity, hardware wear and maintenance are counted.
A purchase checklist for a cheap but dependable server
- Count concurrent players. Pick four or eight slots based on the real peak, not the total number of people in your chat group.
- Record the complete checkout price. Note currency, tax, billing interval, renewal amount and any discount expiration.
- Confirm resources. Ask for CPU policy, RAM allocation, storage type and upgrade steps, especially if you use mods or have a mature world.
- Inspect backup controls. Verify frequency, retention, download access and the exact restore workflow.
- Choose a region. Select the closest suitable datacenter and confirm it is available on the plan you are buying.
- Check version and mod controls. Make sure you can update deliberately, create a pre-update backup and edit or replace configuration files.
- Test administration. Confirm access to the panel, save files, logs, console and additional administrators.
- Read cancellation terms. Find out when renewal can be stopped, whether refunds are offered and how to export the world.
- Keep an independent copy. Download a known-good save before inviting the group and repeat the download periodically.
Common cheap-hosting mistakes and fixes
Buying by slot count alone
Symptom: the plan allows everyone to join, but the world stutters as the map grows or mods are added. Fix: ask about CPU and RAM behavior, then move to a higher resource tier rather than simply buying more slots.
Assuming “automatic backup” means easy recovery
Symptom: a backup exists but cannot be downloaded or restored without provider intervention. Fix: confirm retention and restore steps before deployment and keep your own export.

Ignoring region and time zones
Symptom: distant players experience inconsistent responsiveness even though the server is online. Fix: choose a datacenter near the majority of players and verify regional availability at checkout.
Accepting a promotional rate as a permanent cost
Symptom: the first invoice looks inexpensive and the renewal is unexpectedly higher. Fix: save the renewal terms and set a calendar reminder before the next billing date.
Committing for a long term without an exit plan
Symptom: a lower monthly equivalent leaves you locked into a large prepaid charge after the group stops playing. Fix: begin with a shorter billing period unless the cancellation, refund and export terms justify the commitment.

How the wider market ranges should be interpreted
Supercraft’s 2026 hosting guide estimates budget services at $4–8 per month, standard services at $8–14, and performance-oriented services at $14–20. These are that provider’s own market estimates, not an independent survey or verified census. The listed NitroServ and Minestrator prices fall within or near those broad bands, but currency, resource models, capacity and contract terms prevent a direct ranking from the ranges alone.
Use those bands as a reason to investigate an unusually high or low quote, not as proof that a particular host delivers a certain level of performance.
Verdict
Start with Godlike.Host for Core Keeper if you want to try a server before committing and then manage it from a full panel. It offers up to three free backups a day with restore, free DDoS protection, 10 locations, 24/7 support by live chat or ticket, and prorated upgrades or downgrades from the panel. See the current plans for pricing.
When the lowest listed price decides, a four-player group comparing the specific 2026 listings should start with NitroServ’s four-slot plan because it is the lowest listed price. For eight players, its eight-slot listing is also the cheaper of the two tracked eight-player options. Choose Minestrator instead when its stated RAM tier or French-language support better matches your needs. Whichever provider you select, verify the live checkout total, resource policy, backup restoration, datacenter, update controls and cancellation terms; the available listings do not establish superior uptime, latency or support quality.
