For a camera-flexible Android phone with long software support, the Google Pixel 10a is a strong candidate to investigate first. But the available information does not establish its current unlocked U.S. price, stock, or carrier compatibility—so it cannot be declared a verified under-$600 deal. Compare live prices and carrier support before buying, then weigh camera samples and battery tests rather than relying on specs alone.
Which phones belong on a sub-$600 shortlist?
“Cheap” is not a fixed industry category. Tom’s Guide uses a $600-or-lower cutoff in its guide, but that is its editorial definition. The phones below are candidates with relevant features, not a confirmed ranking of current U.S. deals: live unlocked prices and availability have not been established for every model.
| Phone | What the available specifications show | What to verify before buying |
|---|---|---|
| Google Pixel 10a | Google lists a 6.3-inch pOLED display with 60–120Hz refresh, Tensor G4, 8GB RAM, 128GB or 256GB storage, and a typical 5,100mAh battery. Its rear cameras are 48MP wide and 13MP ultrawide. | Current unlocked U.S. price, stock, carrier compatibility, and whether its camera and battery performance suit your use. |
| Samsung Galaxy A56 5G | Samsung Canada lists 5G and a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display. | U.S. model specifications, U.S. carrier compatibility, current unlocked price, and stock. The Canadian network details do not establish U.S. compatibility. |
| OnePlus 13R | OnePlus North America lists a 6,000mAh battery, 12GB RAM, 256GB storage, 55W SUPERVOOC charging, and 50MP wide, 50MP 2x optical telephoto, and 8MP ultrawide rear cameras. | Current U.S. unlocked price, stock, carrier compatibility, and battery performance in a test comparable to other phones. |
What makes the Pixel 10a a camera-and-software candidate?
The Pixel 10a’s 48MP wide and 13MP ultrawide rear cameras cover two useful perspectives, while its wide camera has optical and electronic stabilization. Google lists Super Res Zoom up to 8x and a 13MP front camera. These details describe camera hardware and features; they do not prove that it takes better photos than competing phones. Check comparable photo samples, especially in the lighting and camera modes you use.
Google says the Pixel 10a will receive seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. That stated support period is a meaningful ownership consideration, alongside storage choice: Google lists 128GB and 256GB versions. The specification page identifies the Pixel 10a as a 2026 phone.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
How should you interpret battery life and charging?
Battery capacity, a manufacturer’s endurance claim, and a reviewer’s test result are different kinds of evidence. Google lists a typical 5,100mAh Pixel 10a battery and claims 30+ hours of battery life, or up to 120 hours with Extreme Battery Saver. Tom’s Guide reports a 15-hour-16-minute result for the phone in its own battery test. These figures are not interchangeable: real runtime depends on settings, signal strength, apps, and usage, and a test result is most useful when compared with other phones tested under the same method.
Google says the Pixel 10a can reach 50% charge in about 30 minutes when used with a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher; the charger is sold separately. Google also lists Qi-certified wireless charging. OnePlus lists a 6,000mAh battery and 55W SUPERVOOC charging for the 13R, but the available information does not provide a comparable battery-test result. A larger capacity alone does not establish longer everyday runtime.

How do the alternatives differ?
Galaxy A56 5G: prioritize a larger screen
Samsung Canada lists the Galaxy A56 5G with a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display and 5G support. Samsung notes that network availability can vary by country, region, and carrier. Because the cited specifications are Canadian, they are not enough to confirm whether a specific U.S. version works with your carrier.
OnePlus 13R: look for a dedicated telephoto camera
The OnePlus 13R has a listed 50MP 2x optical telephoto camera alongside its wide and ultrawide cameras, giving it a distinct hardware option for zoom photography. TechRadar describes the 13R as winning on battery life in its comparison; treat that as the publication’s comparative judgment, not a manufacturer guarantee or a universal result. No comparable battery-test figure or current U.S. unlocked price is established here.

Stylus use: verify the model independently
A search-result excerpt for the title article identifies the Motorola Moto G Stylus (2026) as its stylus pick, but the article page was inaccessible and the available opened sources did not confirm supporting specifications. Treat that mention as a lead to verify, not as an independently substantiated recommendation.

What should you check before choosing?
- Confirm the total price. Check the exact unlocked U.S. model, storage capacity, current price, and stock. A phone is not a confirmed under-$600 option until the price you can actually pay meets your ceiling.
- Check carrier compatibility. Confirm the exact model number with your carrier before ordering. A 5G label—or specifications for a phone sold in another country—does not establish compatibility with your plan.
- Compare camera results, not megapixel totals. Look for sample photos from the same reviewers and conditions, including ultrawide and zoom shots if those matter to you. Megapixels alone do not determine image quality.
- Compare battery tests on equal terms. Prefer results from the same test method and account for your own signal, display, and app use. Keep manufacturer claims separate from reviewer measurements.
- Match the rest of the phone to your needs. Compare screen size and refresh rate, storage, wired and wireless charging, update support, and Android or iOS preference before deciding.
