To change your Samsung Account ID, update the email address linked to your existing account. You can do this in Galaxy Settings or through the Samsung Account website; it does not create a new account or change your password.
Before you change your Samsung Account email
Have the password for your existing Samsung Account ready, and make sure the new email address is valid and can receive Samsung’s verification message. If you use the website and two-step verification is off, you’ll also need access to the current email inbox to receive a code.
Samsung’s instructions are regional: its Canada guide applies to mobile devices sold in Canada and notes that screens may vary by carrier, software version, and model. Its Australia guide applies to Australian-variant Galaxy devices. Menu names can therefore differ from the paths below. Samsung Canada’s email-change guide was last updated August 15, 2026; Samsung Australia’s guide was last updated October 1, 2026.
Change the email ID in Galaxy Settings
- Open Settings.
- Tap Samsung account.
- Choose Profile info.
- Tap the email address listed under Account ID, then tap Change.
- Enter the new email address and tap Change.
- Open the new email inbox, retrieve Samsung’s verification code, and enter it.
- When prompted, confirm your Samsung Account password, review the new email ID, and finish the change.
Samsung Australia describes a similar route as Settings > account profile > Profile Info > Email. Follow the labels shown on your device if they differ.

Change the email ID on the Samsung Account website
- Sign in to the Samsung Account website.
- Open Profile > Manage Samsung account > Email ID.
- Follow the prompts for your two-step verification setting.
If two-step verification is enabled
Enter the new email address, confirm your Samsung Account password, and verify the code sent to the new address. Samsung’s Canada guide says this flow skips verification of the current email address.
If two-step verification is not enabled
First verify with the code sent to your current email address. Then enter the new address, confirm your account password, and verify the code sent to the new address. Make sure you can open both inboxes before starting.

Forgot the Samsung Account ID
Samsung Canada says you can recover an account ID using an email ID hint or a recovery phone number or email address. Samsung US also provides a Find ID option. If those routes don’t identify the account, use Samsung’s sign-in troubleshooting guide.

Unable to change the email address
Contact Samsung Support if the account’s email cannot be changed. Samsung’s US troubleshooting page directs users who are unable to change the associated address to contact support. Verification alternatives, such as a text message or backup code, may appear in some sign-in flows, but availability depends on the account and the options presented.

The Samsung Account email is the email ID used to sign in, so changing it updates the login email on the existing account. Samsung’s account guidance describes the email as the sign-in ID: Samsung UK’s account setup and management guide.

The cited email-change instructions do not establish whether changing the ID signs out other devices or affects synced services or account data. Don’t assume either outcome based on instructions for a password reset; check with Samsung Support if that consequence matters to you.
