You can change the email address used as your Samsung Account sign-in ID either in Galaxy device settings or on the Samsung Account website. You’ll need your account password and access to the new email inbox to verify the change. In the browser, the verification sequence also depends on whether two-step verification is enabled.
What changes when you update your Samsung Account email?
The email address is your account’s sign-in ID; Samsung also uses it for notifications and account security management. Samsung UK explains the email ID’s role. Changing it updates the ID associated with the account after you verify the new address.
Choose a method

Change the email from Galaxy settings
- Open Settings and tap your Samsung Account profile.
- Open Profile Info, then tap Email. On some devices, the path is Samsung account > Profile info > email address under Account ID.
- Verify your account password, then choose Change.
- Enter the new email address and submit it.
- Open the new inbox, retrieve Samsung’s verification code, and enter it when prompted. The linked email changes after verification.
These steps follow Samsung’s Australia guide and Canada guide; the exact labels can differ.

Change the email on the Samsung Account website
- Sign in to your Samsung Account in a browser.
- Open Profile > Manage Samsung account > Email ID.
- Follow the verification branch shown for your account:
- Two-step verification enabled: Enter the new email, confirm your account password, and verify the code sent to the new address. Samsung Canada says the browser flow skips verification through the current email in this case.
- Two-step verification not enabled: Verify through your current email first. Then enter the new email, confirm your account password, and verify the code sent to the new address.

Before you start
- Make sure the new email address is valid and can receive messages.
- If you can, confirm that you can also access your current email, since Samsung’s browser flow may ask you to verify it.
- Have your Samsung Account password ready.
- Use an existing Galaxy device or a browser, and keep the relevant email inbox available for verification.
If you can’t find the account or verification code
- No code in the new inbox: Check that the address was entered correctly and can receive mail, then look in junk or spam folders. These are practical checks based on Samsung’s email-verification requirement.
- Current-email verification appears: Complete it if prompted. In Samsung Canada’s documented browser flow, it is skipped when two-step verification is enabled.
- You’re unsure which account is signed in: Check the account profile before changing its email, so you update the intended Samsung Account.
- You can’t remember the account ID: Use Samsung’s ID hint or account recovery options with a recovery phone number or email address. See Samsung Canada’s account guidance.
