To catch legendary fish in Fields of Mistria, first unlock the Legendary Fishing skill, then fish in the right water type when that fish’s season and weather conditions are active. The community-documented guide below lists all four fish and their shadow sizes; on a qualifying morning, look for the game’s alert and fish silhouette to identify the day’s target.
Unlock Legendary Fishing first
A community guide updated for version 1.0.2 says to reach Fishing Level 30 and unlock the Legendary perk at Caldarus’ Statue. The community wiki says legendary fish appear only after the skill is unlocked. See the Legendary Fish guide for the unlock route and the Fishing page for the wiki’s mechanics notes.
Where and when to catch each legendary fish
These conditions come from a community-maintained fish list. The wiki cautions that some information may be incomplete or inaccurate, so treat the conditions as community-documented rather than an official developer guarantee.

The community guide describes Cherry Fish weather as windy or petal weather and Leaf Fish weather as windy or falling-leaf weather. The wiki’s simpler labels are “Windy”; seasonal weather may be visually represented differently in game.

Use the morning alert to find the day’s target
After unlocking the perk, the wiki says a qualifying day begins with the notification “A legendary fish is nearby…” and a silhouette of the legendary fish available that day. Check for both before heading to the matching pond, river, or ocean and looking for the listed shadow size.
Catch route
- Reach Fishing Level 30 and unlock the Legendary perk at Caldarus’ Statue, following the route described by the community guide updated for version 1.0.2.
- At the start of the day, look for the legendary-fish alert and its silhouette.
- Use the table to match the fish to the current season, weather, and water type; target the listed shadow size.
- If the required weather is not active, wait for an eligible day. The community fishing planner says weather cannot be forced and that fish are not restricted to a particular time of day.
Should you donate the first catch?
If you are completing the museum, consider donating a first catch to the Fish Wing. The wiki says only one of each legendary variety could be caught per save as of version 0.12.0; that statement is version-specific and does not establish the limit for later versions. Check the current game version before relying on it.

What is not established
The reviewed community sources do not provide verified catch odds for the four fish, so there is no supported way to estimate how many casts a catch will take. They also do not establish a time-of-day restriction. The fish conditions and alert behavior are community documentation, not an official developer reference.
