Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection includes the complete original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow on disc, plus Reverie, Resurrection, Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD, and a playable Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 demo supplied through voucher code(s). It was released for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
What the collection contains
Konami’s official product name is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection. It is a compilation built around the first Lords of Shadow game, with the other listed material supplied as downloadable extras. The package is not the complete Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2; it contains only a demo of that game.
| Content | What it is | How it is supplied |
|---|---|---|
| Castlevania: Lords of Shadow | The full original game and the first chapter of the storyline, starring Gabriel Belmont | Physical game disc |
| Reverie | Downloadable story content for the first game | Voucher code(s) |
| Resurrection | Downloadable story content for the first game | Voucher code(s) |
| Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD | The next chapter, following Gabriel Belmont’s descendants | Voucher code(s) |
| Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 demo | A playable preview in which you control Dracula | Voucher code(s) |
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow: the physical game
The centerpiece is the complete original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow. Konami describes it as the first chapter and identifies Gabriel Belmont as its protagonist. Unlike the other listed items, this game is physically packaged in the collection, so the disc is the part you receive even when a used copy has already had its download voucher redeemed.

Treat the physical game and the downloadable material as separate parts of the purchase.

The two DLC chapters: Reverie and Resurrection
Reverie
Reverie is one of the two downloadable chapters included for the first Lords of Shadow. It is listed by Konami as collection content rather than as a separate retail game. Access depends on redeeming the voucher supplied with the package.
Resurrection
Resurrection is the second downloadable chapter for the original game. Konami lists it alongside Reverie as part of the collection’s bonus content. Both are delivered digitally, so owning the box alone does not prove that either chapter can still be downloaded.
The publisher’s announcements refer to an exclusive digital voucher code or codes. They do not establish whether every regional package used one code, several codes, or identical redemption procedures. Check the insert and the platform account requirements for the specific edition you are considering.

Mirror of Fate HD: the next chapter
Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD is also included by voucher. Konami positions it as the next chapter in the series, continuing the story through Gabriel Belmont’s descendants. “HD” identifies the edition supplied for the collection; it is not the physical disc in the box.
Because it is a code-based download, its availability is tied to the original voucher. A complete-looking case, manual, or disc does not guarantee access. Ask a seller specifically whether the Mirror of Fate HD code is present and unused, and whether it matches the console region you intend to use.
The Lords of Shadow 2 demo is not the full game
The collection includes a playable demo for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2. Konami’s description says the demo lets players control Dracula. It is a preview, not the complete sequel.
This is the most important qualification in many listings. A title such as “Lords of Shadow 2 included” can make the package sound like it contains the full game, but the official contents list identifies only a demo. If you want the entire Lords of Shadow 2 campaign, you need a separate copy of that game.

The collection’s format is unusual enough to deserve a clear breakdown:
- On the disc: the full original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow.
- Through voucher code(s): Reverie, Resurrection, Mirror of Fate HD, and the Lords of Shadow 2 demo.
Konami’s North American announcement says the packaged compilation contains the original game and that the remaining content is available through an exclusive digital voucher code or codes. The company’s European English product page uses the same physical-versus-voucher distinction. Neither source confirms that a code remains redeemable indefinitely, and neither verifies the status of codes in an individual used copy.
On a used purchase, evaluate the package as two separate questions: does it include the original disc, and does it include valid, unused vouchers? A seller’s statement that the box is “complete” may mean only that the inserts are present; request confirmation that the codes have never been redeemed.
Platforms, regional dates and original pricing
| Detail | Published information | Qualification |
|---|---|---|
| Platforms | PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 | Konami lists both platforms; the editions are platform-specific |
| European English release date | 8 November 2013 | Date given on Konami’s European English product page |
| North American availability | Announced 5 November 2013 | Announcement said the collection was then available in North and South America |
| Suggested retail price | About €29.95 | Historical German European suggested retail price, not a current value |
| Suggested retail price | $39.99 | Historical North American launch price, not a current value |
The dates should not be treated as one worldwide launch date. The European page supplies 8 November 2013, while Konami’s North American announcement is dated 5 November 2013 and describes availability in North and South America. Regional packaging, store access and voucher rules can differ even when the named contents are the same.
How much playtime does it provide?
Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. stated in its 2013 German European announcement that the collection offered “more than 40 hours of gameplay.” This is a publisher-provided promotional figure, not an independently measured completion time. It also does not specify a particular play style, difficulty, or whether the estimate counts all downloadable chapters and the demo.
Use the figure as a broad indication of the package’s intended scope rather than a guaranteed runtime. Your actual time will depend on how thoroughly you play the original game and its DLC, whether you replay sections, and how much time you spend with the demo.
What to check before buying a used copy
The historical inclusion statements establish what Konami intended to put in the package, but they do not establish that every second-hand copy still has redeemable vouchers. Use this checklist before paying:
Rank #3
- Letter opener looks just like Dracula's weapon, the Void Sword!
- Replica sword letter opener is made of real metal!
- Letter opener comes packaged in collectible Castlevania 2 tin.
- A limited edition Loot Crate exclusive!
- Confirm the platform. Make sure the listing is for PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360, and that it matches the console you own.
- Confirm the region. Ask which market the copy came from. Codes may be restricted by account or store region, and the publisher’s announcements do not promise cross-region redemption.
- Ask for the voucher insert. A disc-only listing cannot provide the downloadable additions unless the code was supplied separately.
- Ask whether each code is unused. “Untested” is not the same as unused. Request a direct answer about prior redemption.
- Check code visibility without publishing it. A seller can show that an insert is present while masking the actual code in photographs.
- Verify the account and console requirements. Redemption normally requires the relevant platform account and an online connection, but the original announcements do not document current store support.
- Price the copy as disc-only if code status is unknown. Do not pay a premium for the full collection when the digital portion cannot be verified.
Questions the official listing does and does not answer
Does the collection include the complete sequel?
No. The listed sequel content is a Lords of Shadow 2 demo. The full sequel is not identified as part of the collection.
What’s actually slowing this PC down?
Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Are all five content entries on one disc?
No. Konami identifies the original Lords of Shadow as the physical item and says the other content is delivered through voucher code(s).
How many voucher codes are in the box?
The official English descriptions say “voucher code” or “voucher codes” without establishing one universal count for every region. Inspect the specific edition rather than assuming a fixed number.
Will a used code still work?
That cannot be established from the publisher’s historical inclusion statement. Redemption is copy-specific and may also depend on platform and region. Treat an unverified code as unavailable until the seller demonstrates otherwise or you can test it under your own account.
Is the €29.95 or $39.99 price current?
No. Those are historical launch-era suggested prices published in 2013. Current second-hand prices, stock and code value vary by listing and are not represented by those figures.
Why the package can still appeal to newcomers
The compilation gathers the first game, its two named DLC chapters, the HD follow-up chapter, and a sequel preview under one product name. That makes it a convenient starting point for someone who wants the Lords of Shadow storyline in release order without separately hunting for the two original-game DLC chapters and Mirror of Fate HD.
Its main limitation is the voucher format. A new, region-matched copy with unused codes offers the intended bundle; a used copy with redeemed codes may provide only the physical first game. The practical value therefore depends less on the box art than on the condition of the digital inserts.
Konami producer and European studio head Dave Cox described the package as “an excellent opportunity for newcomers and fans alike to get the full Castlevania: Lords of Shadow experience” in the company’s announcement. That was promotional language issued at launch, so interpret “full experience” as the collection’s advertised combination of the original game, DLC, Mirror of Fate HD, and demo—not as proof that the complete Lords of Shadow 2 is included.
