Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection is a 2013 physical compilation for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The original Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is on the disc; Mirror of Fate HD, a Lords of Shadow 2 demo, and the Reverie and Resurrection expansions were delivered by voucher code. It was not released as a Windows disc. PC players need the separately titled Steam Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Ultimate Edition. What exactly is Castlevania: Lords of Shadow Collection?
The Collection is a single-player compilation released by Konami on 8 November 2013. Konami’s European product listing identifies two platforms only: PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. A North and South American launch announcement gave the package a suggested retail price of $39.99 at release. That is a historical launch price, not a current used-market or digital-store price.
The name can cause confusion because several related products exist. The Collection is the physical PS3/Xbox 360 package. The Windows product is titled Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Ultimate Edition, and it is a separate Steam release rather than a PC version of the Collection disc.
What comes on the disc and what comes by code?
The package does not place every advertised item on the physical disc. Its contents are split between one packaged game and voucher-delivered extras.

Konami described the compilation as containing the original game in the package, with Mirror of Fate HD, the Lords of Shadow 2 demo, and both DLC packs made available through an exclusive digital voucher code or codes. Consequently, a complete-looking case and a working disc do not prove that all advertised content is still obtainable.
Which console version should you buy?
Buy the edition that matches the console on which you intend to play. A PS3 disc and an Xbox 360 disc are different products; neither should be treated as interchangeable.

Do not buy based only on a marketplace title such as “Shadow Collection.” Read the platform logo, disc label and product description. Sellers sometimes use shortened names that omit the console and can make a PS3 listing look like an Xbox 360 listing.

The cited official product information establishes PS3 and Xbox 360 as the original platforms, but it does not establish backward-compatibility support for current PlayStation or Xbox hardware. Compatibility can vary by exact console model, operating-system generation, storefront region and whether a game is included in a platform maker’s supported catalog.
Before purchasing for a newer console, check that platform maker’s current backward-compatibility catalog for the exact game and edition. Do not infer support from the fact that the newer console accepts some other PS3 or Xbox 360 discs. If the title is absent from the current catalog, assume the old disc is not a supported way to play it on that system unless the manufacturer says otherwise.
For a used purchase, ask the seller whether the intended console is an original PS3 or Xbox 360, a later model, or a current-generation system. “Works on Xbox” or “works on PlayStation” is not precise enough to establish compatibility.
Can you play the Collection on a Windows PC?
Not by inserting the PS3 or Xbox 360 Collection disc into a Windows computer. The researched PC product is separately titled Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Ultimate Edition and is sold through Steam. Treat that edition as its own purchase, installation and licensing path; ownership of the console disc does not establish a Windows entitlement.

The PC setup guidance identifies an XInput-compatible controller as the safest match for the separate PC edition. That is a compatibility recommendation, not a guarantee that every third-party gamepad will be recognized. If a controller is not detected, test it in Windows first, connect it before starting the game, and check the game’s input settings. A USB controller using a different input standard may require a translation layer or may not work correctly.
How do the Collection’s download vouchers work?
The voucher is the delivery mechanism for Mirror of Fate HD, the Lords of Shadow 2 demo, Reverie and Resurrection. Redeeming a code normally requires the matching console account and access to the relevant platform service. The Collection itself is labeled single-player, but network access can still be needed to attempt a voucher download.
There is no established present-day validity date for these 2013-era codes in the cited material. - Confirm the platform edition. A PS3 code must be intended for the PS3 release, and an Xbox 360 code must be intended for the Xbox 360 release.
- Check the region. Compare the voucher’s region marking with the account and console region you will use. Do not assume that an imported code is interchangeable with a domestic one.
- Inspect the voucher card. Make sure the card is present, legible and not visibly scratched or altered. Ask a seller whether it is unused, while treating that statement as unverified until redemption succeeds.
- Sign in to the matching platform account. The account must be able to access the platform’s store or download service.
- Enter the code through the console’s redeem-code function. Follow the prompts for the edition you own and record any error exactly as displayed.
- Wait for the download to finish before discarding anything. Keep the disc, case and voucher together until every expected item is installed and launches.
A successful download does not necessarily remove the disc’s role. The packaged game may still require the original disc to be inserted when you launch it, so keep the physical copy even after the digital extras install.
What should you check when buying a used copy?
Used listings need more scrutiny than a new release because the value is split between a physical disc and a one-time code. Use this checklist before paying:
- Exact platform: Verify PS3 or Xbox 360 on both the case and disc.
- Region: Ask for a clear image of the regional marking and confirm it matches your console account.
- Disc condition: Look for cracks, deep scratches, label damage or signs that the disc may not read.
- Voucher presence: Confirm that the original code card is included, not merely the case and disc.
- Voucher status: Ask whether the code has ever been redeemed. There is no guarantee that an old code remains valid, even when the seller says it is unused.
- Return terms: Prefer a seller that accepts a return if the disc fails to read or the code cannot be submitted.
- Hardware: Make sure you own, or intend to obtain, compatible original PS3/Xbox 360 hardware before relying on the physical edition.

The console does not recognize the disc
- Recheck that you purchased the correct console edition.
- Inspect and gently clean the disc according to the console manufacturer’s handling guidance.
- Test another known-working disc to distinguish a Collection disc problem from a console optical-drive problem.
- If the disc still fails, document the console model, disc label and error message, then use the seller’s return process.
The voucher is rejected
- Copy the code exactly, including any characters that are easy to confuse.
- Confirm that you are redeeming it on the matching platform and in the matching region.
- Check whether the account has already received the content; a previously redeemed code may be rejected even though the download is available in the account’s library.
- Save a screenshot or written record of the complete error message.
- Contact the seller first for a used-copy dispute, or platform support when the error indicates an account, store or service issue.
Do not publish a voucher code in a support request or marketplace message. Treat it as a one-time credential until the platform confirms otherwise.
Is the Collection an online game?
No. Konami labels the Collection as single-player. That describes the game’s play mode, not every installation requirement: a network connection and platform account may still be needed to attempt voucher redemption, download updates or access the platform store.
