Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse is scheduled to launch on October 15, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. Who is Rose Belmont, and when does the story take place?
The story is set in Paris in 1499, 23 years after Castlevania III: Dracula’s Curse. Rose Belmont, Trevor Belmont’s daughter, faces monsters in the city and in Dracula’s castle. Konami’s announcement describes the game’s setting and protagonist in its February 12, 2026 announcement.

The whip is for movement as well as combat
The Vampire Killer is more than a weapon: Konami says Rose can use it to traverse areas as well as attack. That movement focus sits alongside exploration, combat, secrets, traps, and boss encounters. Konami calls the game “2D Action-Exploration” and “exploration-based 2D action”; “Metroidvania” is a useful editorial genre shorthand, not the label Konami uses in its official descriptions. Weapons, Relics, and Arcana
PlayStation’s product description lists seven weapon categories, Relics that can produce offensive or defensive effects, and an Arcana system: bosses are sealed into tarot cards, whose skills can then be used. Is there a demo, and can its save carry over?
Yes. Konami announced a demo before launch. To transfer its save data to the full game, you must use the same platform and account, keep the demo save, and update the full game. What comes in the Standard and Midnight Editions?
Konami confirms physical and digital editions. The Midnight Edition adds digital sound and art galleries, Trevor and Sypha costumes, and a Family’s Grace Relic. Konami Europe says its gallery contains 71 tracks. The announcement also describes an Alucard Style Costume as a preorder or early-purchase bonus; eligibility and timing may depend on region and seller.
