The title appears to refer to Capri Holdings’ first quarter of fiscal 2025/26, ended June 28, 2025. Capri reported $797 million in revenue from continuing operations, down 6.0% year over year, while net profit attributable to shareholders was $53 million, compared with a $14 million loss a year earlier. The profit improvement came as costs fell significantly; it did not mean sales had recovered.

Revenue and profit measure different things. Revenue tracks sales; profit reflects what remains after costs and other expenses are accounted for. FashionUnited attributed the improved profit to significantly lower costs. The reported figures therefore show better profitability in the quarter alongside lower continuing-operations revenue—not a sales rebound.

Capri chairman and CEO John Idol said: “We are encouraged by our first quarter results. Trends have steadily improved, resulting in both revenue and earnings per share exceeding our expectations,” according to the statement quoted by FashionUnited. The outlet notes that its English-language version was translated using an AI tool and edited by a human desk editor.
Which brands were included in continuing operations?
After Capri agreed to sell Versace to Prada in mid-April 2025, the Q1 report covered continuing operations and identified Michael Kors and Jimmy Choo as the brands remaining in that portfolio. The sale agreement is relevant to the scope of the revenue figure: $797 million is not a measure of an unchanged, whole-company portfolio.

How this quarter fits the earlier annual results
Capri’s fiscal 2025 results, released May 28, 2025, provide background but are a different reporting period: the company reported $4.7 billion in revenue, down 13.3% on a reported basis, and a net loss of $1.1 billion. How current are these results?
These are historical Q1 FY2025/26 figures, not a statement of Capri’s latest performance or current guidance. The matching report dates to August 6, 2025. Accordingly, its reported outlook—revenue of $3.375 billion to $3.45 billion, operating profit of approximately $100 million, and diluted EPS of $1.20 to $1.40—was management’s forecast at that time, not verified guidance for October 2026.
