You can add a custom font in Canva for Android through a Brand Kit, provided your Canva account is eligible and you have permission to manage that kit. Canva’s mobile app places Brand Kits under More, but its help pages do not specify an Android-only sequence of taps for the font-upload control, so the exact screen may vary.
Upload a font through a Brand Kit
-
Open Canva on Android and tap More. Choose Brand Kit. Canva’s mobile navigation guide lists Brand Kits under More.
-
Open the Brand Kit you want to update, or create one if your account and role allow it. Canva’s Brand Kit setup instructions cover mobile setup and describe uploading fonts as part of setting up a kit.
Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy. -
Within the kit setup, look for the font-upload option and select the font file from your device. This location follows Canva’s mobile Brand Kit guidance; Canva does not publish a precise Android-only tap sequence for this action.

After upload, look for the font in the Brand Kit when choosing text styles in a design. If the upload action is missing, confirm your account eligibility and kit permissions before trying Canva on desktop as a fallback.
Check account eligibility and permissions
Canva lists Pro, Teams, Business, Education, and Nonprofits as account types eligible to upload custom fonts. Eligibility alone may not give every team member permission to edit a Brand Kit. Canva says organization kits are managed by administrators and brand designers; Education accounts have role-specific differences, and personal Brand Kits depend on an administrator enabling that option. See Canva’s Brand Kit setup guidance for the role details.

Try Canva on desktop if the control is still unavailable in the Android app. This is a practical alternative, not evidence that Android categorically cannot upload fonts: Canva documents mobile Brand Kit setup, but does not guarantee that every Android account or app version shows the same control.

Canva’s general media upload instructions cover items such as photos, video, and audio; they do not describe adding fonts through the ordinary media-upload workflow. Font management belongs in a Brand Kit.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Font uploads are different from Brand Controls
Adding a font to a Brand Kit is not the same as configuring Brand Controls. Canva says Brand Controls cannot be set up in its mobile app, although existing folder controls continue to apply when editing on mobile. See Canva’s Brand Controls guidance.
