You generally cannot trade items, materials, currency, or characters directly with another player in Genshin Impact. HoYoverse’s terms restrict transferring or trading Virtual Goods and Virtual Currency except where specifically permitted. A limited event mechanic may let players exchange materials for event rewards, but that is not a general inventory-transfer system.
Can you trade items with another player?
No general player-to-player trading feature lets you hand over items or other owned assets. HoYoverse’s Terms of Service state that, except where the agreement permits it, players may not transfer, sell, gift, exchange, or trade Virtual Currency or Virtual Goods. The terms do not provide an exhaustive item-by-item list of exceptions, so the safest practical rule is not to expect direct transfers of owned inventory.
That means an in-game request to send a friend your materials, currency, or a character is different from a feature the game generally supports. Do not share account credentials or use account sales and third-party trading offers as substitutes.

Some events have exchange-like mechanics, but they are limited to that event’s rules and rewards. For example, HoYoverse’s January 2026 Marvelous Merchandise notice allowed players to enter another player’s world and exchange materials through the event mechanic to obtain desired Box o’ Marvels rewards.

This was not a way to transfer arbitrary items already owned by another player. Check the current event notice for its specific requirements and availability; an event exception does not establish a permanent trading feature.
Can you gift a purchase instead?
Buying an eligible digital product for someone is different from transferring something from your inventory. HoYoverse says direct in-game gifting of Blessing of the Welkin Moon is unavailable. Its Help Center guidance points users to official payment methods and some official top-up partners, naming Codashop as an example.

HoYoverse warns that unofficial or unauthorized top-up services can expose users to loss of account or personal information, payment fraud, or account suspension if transactions are illegal or charged back. Use only payment routes identified by HoYoverse as official or authorized, and verify that a route supports the product and region you need.
Can you transfer Primogems or Genesis Crystals?
No transfer feature follows from the fact that these currencies can be acquired. Genesis Crystals are premium currency purchased through the in-game shop or an official top-up page. Primogems can come from converting Genesis Crystals and can also be earned through gameplay activities and rewards. HoYoverse’s terms restrict transfers of Virtual Currency except where specifically permitted; buying or earning currency does not make it transferable to another account.

What to do when someone asks you to trade
- Identify what they mean. If they want an item or currency you already own, there is no general direct transfer feature.
- Check the current event notice. If the goal is an event reward, see whether that event explicitly offers a material-submission or exchange mechanic.
- For a purchase, use an authorized route. Consult HoYoverse’s Help Center and official payment information rather than relying on an unsolicited top-up offer.
- Keep your account private. Do not share login details or treat account sales and third-party trades as official game features.
