Yes. You can still obtain several classic Ultima releases through official digital storefronts. GOG currently displays nine Ultima series products, including individual games and collections, while Electronic Arts maintains an official Ultima catalog. The practical catch is that availability, bundle contents and compatibility are edition-specific: an Ultima title listed by a publisher is not automatically purchasable in every country or guaranteed to run on every modern computer.
For the clearest modern-PC path, inspect the exact GOG listing before buying. Collections are convenient when you want a sequence, but they are not interchangeable. Ultima I+II+III is a different purchase from Ultima IV+V+VI; Ultima Underworld 1+2 is a separate package from the mainline games. A listing for Ultima VII: The Complete Edition should be read as that specific edition, not as a promise that every related Ultima VII release is included.
2. Check your country before paying
Storefront catalogs and checkout rights can change by territory. If a title appears in a series index but the product page does not show a purchase option, treat it as unavailable to you until the store confirms otherwise. Do not infer regional availability from another person’s screenshot, an old price or a search result.
3. Match the support note to your computer
A Windows 10/11 verification note applies to the product and edition named on that page. It is not a series-wide certification. The same caution applies to macOS: a page stating Mac OS X or macOS support does not identify every current Apple operating-system version or every possible hardware configuration.

What compatibility is actually documented?
Ultima VII: The Complete Edition
The GOG listing says this edition is powered by DOSBox and works on Windows and Mac OS X. Its changelog dated 13 November 2024 states: “Verified compatibility with Windows 10 and 11.” GOG also documents a fully offline installer and says Galaxy is optional. These are GOG’s statements for that storefront edition, not independent testing of every Windows or Mac configuration.
Ultima I+II+III
The GOG page identifies the package as DOSBox-powered and lists Windows and Mac OS X support. An update dated 20 March 2025 records Windows 10/11 compatibility verification. The store FAQ describes an offline installer and says Galaxy is not required. Again, the evidence applies to this collection as sold by GOG.
Ultima Underworld 1+2
GOG labels this collection DOSBox-powered and states official support for Windows and macOS, with Windows 10/11 compatibility verification. The page’s wording should be treated as the support scope for that package; it does not create a compatibility guarantee for community ports, different releases or every future operating-system update.
The other catalog entries
The available evidence does not provide a complete, title-by-title matrix for Ultima IV, Ultima V, Ultima VI, Ultima VIII, Ultima IX, The Savage Empire and Martian Dreams. Use each listing’s current requirements and support notes. Do not transfer the Windows 10/11 statements from the three documented products to those games.

The following process applies to a GOG purchase when the product page offers the documented offline installer. Labels can change, so use the wording shown on the current page.
- Open the exact product page. Confirm the full title, included games and listed operating systems. Make sure it is the edition you intended to buy.
- Review the support section and changelog. Look for the DOSBox description, Windows or macOS support and any dated compatibility note. Treat the date as part of the claim; an older verification is not a promise about an operating-system release that appeared later.
- Choose an installer method. If an offline installer is offered, download the installer files from your GOG library. Galaxy may be used instead, but it is not required for the cited products.
- Install to a writable folder. Use a location where your account can create files and where you can find the game’s save data. Avoid changing files inside the installation unless the product documentation tells you to.
- Launch the game from the installed shortcut or executable. The DOSBox package should start the configured environment supplied with the purchase. Do not replace its configuration with a random DOSBox build before confirming that the packaged version works.
- Test saving and loading immediately. Start a new game, save to a new slot, exit and reload. This catches permission or storage problems before you invest time in a campaign.

Windows 10 and 11: what to expect
For Ultima VII: The Complete Edition and Ultima I+II+III, GOG’s dated changelog entries explicitly record Windows 10/11 verification. The Underworld 1+2 page also notes Windows 10/11 compatibility verification. Those statements make the cited GOG packages the strongest documented choices in this guide for a Windows 10 or Windows 11 buyer.
They still do not mean that every setting, graphics driver, security policy or future Windows build will behave identically. If a product fails to start, first confirm that you installed the correct edition and that the launcher or offline installer completed successfully. macOS and other platforms
The GOG pages for the cited products mention Mac OS X or macOS support. That is useful evidence for those editions, but the wording does not identify a universal list of current Apple operating-system versions. Check the live requirements shown at purchase time, particularly if your Mac uses a newer system release or a different processor family than the page originally targeted.
This guide does not establish a complete compatibility matrix for Linux, handheld PCs, virtual machines, browsers or community engines. The dated Windows verification for Ultima VII, Ultima I+II+III and Underworld 1+2 belongs to those GOG editions. It does not certify every other Ultima release.
Assuming Galaxy is mandatory
For the cited GOG products, the store says Galaxy is optional and an offline installer is available. If another product page uses different wording, follow that page rather than generalizing from these examples.

A practical decision path
- Want the earliest mainline games? Compare Ultima I+II+III with the individual Ultima IV listing and check whether you prefer one package or a single title.
- Want the middle trilogy? Inspect Ultima IV+V+VI and confirm exactly which games and documentation are included.
