Hackers Arise describes an installable Chrome console that bundles security-assessment tools, but its setup and compatibility are not independently verified. The article’s examples cover network ports, Windows Remote Management (WinRM), Active Directory DNS, and Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) in a lab context. Treat its commands as demonstrations—not evidence that the installation works with your Chrome version or that a test will produce a particular security finding.
What the Chrome-based console is supposed to do
In an article dated October 6, 2026, Hackers Arise says an installable IWA tools console can run a collection of security tools from Chrome. The article names NXC, SharpHound, LDAP-shell, and Evil-WinRM in its opening, then uses Certipy in a later example. It claims the bundle contains nine tools, but the available article text does not show the complete inventory; the remaining names should not be guessed.
The article presents the console as an alternative way to access these tools, with a brief contrast to conventional Linux or WSL workflows. It does not establish feature parity, comparative performance, or comparative security. Nor does the available information establish the project’s provenance, supported platforms, or current Chrome compatibility.

- YOUR PHONE AND CHROMEBOOK WORK BETTER TOGETHER: Easily transfer files between devices, and control your phone right from your Chromebook.
- Enable the Chrome flags. The article says to enable Chrome flags, but the available text does not identify the flags by name. It therefore does not provide enough detail to reproduce this step reliably.
- Relaunch Chrome. The article instructs readers to restart the browser after changing the flags.
- Open
web-dev. It says recent Chrome updates moved the relevant location fromweb-app-internalstoweb-dev. That path and behavior are claims in the article, not independently confirmed instructions for current Chrome releases. - Install using the update manifest. The article supplies https://iwa-tools.pkilla.pw/iwa/update.json and says Chrome fetches a version of the IWA from it.
- Open the installed console. The article says the console appears in Chrome’s apps after installation. This result has not been confirmed across Chrome versions or platforms.
Because the article does not specify the flags, Chrome version, or supported operating systems, it is not a complete, independently validated installation guide. Do not weaken browser protections or install an application from an unverified source on a system you rely on.
What the article’s examples demonstrate
Hackers Arise presents these as lab demonstrations. They illustrate the kinds of tasks the console is intended to support; they do not prove a general vulnerability, a successful compromise, or a guaranteed privilege escalation.

- Port scanning: an example scans ports on a Windows lab host.
- WinRM access: an example attempts an Evil-WinRM connection using credentials. An attempted connection is not evidence that access will succeed.
- Active Directory DNS: the article shows using
adidnsto list DNS zones. - AD CS review: a Certipy example searches for issues in Active Directory Certificate Services. The brief description does not establish that a particular environment is vulnerable or that a finding enables escalation.
The article says a help command lists available commands and that command-specific help provides further details. Since the full command syntax and tool inventory are not visible in the available text, consult the installed tool’s own help and documentation rather than inferring commands from these summaries.

Hackers Arise explicitly warns readers not to use the tools against systems without authorization and not to use a daily-use Chrome browser for this work. Follow both cautions. Keep testing within systems and scope you are authorized to assess, and use an isolated environment rather than a browser profile used for everyday accounts or work. The article does not provide independent security assurances for the IWA or its installation source.
