No—not under Blizzard’s currently reported plans. A TechRadar Gaming report published October 11, 2026, says Blizzard has no plans at this time to add races from World of Warcraft expansions to WoW: Forever, explicitly naming Goblins and Vulpera as races players should not expect. That is a statement about the present plan, not a permanent promise that they can never be added.
The direct answer
If you want to create a Goblin or Vulpera character in WoW: Forever, there is currently no announced way to do so. Blizzard’s reported position covers both races because they are associated with races introduced in later World of Warcraft expansion-era content. The company told TechRadar Gaming that it has “no plans to add races from WoW’s expansions at this time,” and the report specifically identifies Goblins and Vulpera as examples.
That wording matters. “No plans at this time” describes Blizzard’s current direction; it does not establish a lifetime exclusion or a guaranteed answer for every future update. As of October 13, 2026, the best-supported answer is therefore: Goblins and Vulpera are not expected in WoW: Forever under the currently reported plan, but Blizzard has not said they are impossible forever.
What Blizzard has actually said
The current statement
TechRadar Gaming’s October 11, 2026 report quotes Blizzard saying: “We have no plans to add races from WoW’s expansions at this time.” The report does not identify a named designer or executive as the speaker, so the statement should be attributed to Blizzard as reported by TechRadar, rather than to an individual developer.
#1 Best Overall
The same report applies that policy directly to the question players are asking. Goblins and Vulpera are named as races that fans should not expect in WoW: Forever. This is stronger than merely saying that no Goblin or Vulpera announcement has been made: the available statement describes a current plan not to add expansion races at all.
The reason Blizzard gave
Blizzard’s explanation is about setting and continuity. The company said, “Our main focus for the game is to build off the foundational lore of Warcraft.” TechRadar’s report explains that this means using the earlier real-time-strategy games as the foundation, rather than retreading stories and character material developed extensively in modern World of Warcraft.
That rationale makes the race policy easier to understand. WoW: Forever is presented as its own continuity, not simply a server or mode that imports every playable option from the modern game. Blizzard is choosing which parts of Warcraft form the starting point for this world, and its current answer places later expansion races outside that starting scope.

Goblins and Vulpera: what their status means
| Race | Status in WoW: Forever | What the evidence supports | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Goblins | Not expected under the current reported plan | Blizzard reportedly has no plans at this time to add races from World of Warcraft expansions; Goblins are explicitly named in the report. | This is not a permanent promise that Goblins can never be added. |
| Vulpera | Not expected under the current reported plan | Vulpera are also explicitly named as a race players should not expect under the same policy. | A later official change could alter the answer. |
| Skyborne | Identified by Blizzard’s official product-page search excerpt as a new playable race | The excerpt says access to the Skyborne race or its starting experience requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher. | The official page could not be opened during the reporting pass, so check the live page for current edition and access details. |
There is no genuine Goblin-versus-Vulpera character choice in WoW: Forever based on the current information. Both are in the same “not expected under the present plan” category. Treating them as two available options would imply a character-creation choice that Blizzard has not announced.
Does “no plans at this time” mean “never”?
What the phrase establishes
The phrase establishes a present intention: Blizzard is not planning to bring races from later World of Warcraft expansions into WoW: Forever at the time of the reported interview. It supports a practical decision today—do not plan a launch character around a Goblin or Vulpera slot.
What it does not establish
It does not establish a permanent technical limitation, a legal restriction, or a promise that the policy can never change. Games evolve, and a studio can revise its content plans. No later announcement in the cited material overturns Blizzard’s position, but the wording leaves room for a future decision.

For that reason, avoid two opposite mistakes. “Goblins and Vulpera are definitely coming later” is unsupported, while “they will never be playable” goes beyond what Blizzard said. The accurate formulation remains time-qualified: they are not part of the currently reported plan.
Why the continuity distinction matters
WoW: Forever is being positioned as a distinct world
Blizzard’s stated focus on foundational Warcraft lore signals that WoW: Forever is not intended to reproduce the modern game’s complete historical catalog on day one. A separate continuity can use familiar Warcraft concepts while making different decisions about which peoples, locations and stories are central.
That approach explains why a race can be playable in modern World of Warcraft yet absent from WoW: Forever. Availability in one game does not automatically transfer to another game with a different continuity. The current race policy is about the design of Forever, not a claim that Goblins or Vulpera have been removed from every Warcraft product.

Expansion-era availability is not a transfer guarantee
The report groups Goblins and Vulpera with races from World of Warcraft expansions. Under Blizzard’s reported plan, that category is deliberately excluded for now. A player who knows a race from the modern game should not assume that its existing models, quests or faction history will be imported into Forever automatically.
What this means when choosing a character
If Goblin or Vulpera is essential to your plan
Do not buy an edition, reserve a name or plan a leveling route on the assumption that either race will be available. There is no reported launch option for them, and no announced later-release date in the cited coverage. If your decision depends specifically on playing one of these races, wait for a new official announcement rather than relying on speculation or a fan-made schedule.

Look first at the races Blizzard identifies for this game’s own continuity. The official product-page search excerpt identifies Skyborne as a new playable race. It also says that access to the Skyborne race or its starting experience requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack or higher. Because the live product page was not accessible when this information was collected, confirm the current edition name, entitlement and any regional conditions on Blizzard’s page before purchasing.
Best Value
The Skyborne information is an example of the distinction Blizzard is making: Forever can introduce races created for its own world even while declining to import races from later modern-WoW expansions.

Because Blizzard’s statement is time-bound, use a clear verification process whenever you revisit the question:
- Check Blizzard’s official WoW: Forever page. Start with Blizzard’s World of Warcraft: Forever page and look for an updated race list, character-creation information or a dated announcement.
- Look for a specific announcement. A reliable change would identify Goblins or Vulpera by name and explain when and how they become playable. A vague reference to future content is not confirmation.
- Separate access information from race availability. A product edition, beta entitlement or game-time offer does not by itself add a race. Verify that any listed entitlement explicitly includes the race or its starting experience.
- Check the date. Compare the publication date of any article or post with Blizzard’s latest official information. The current reported position comes from October 11, 2026 and can become outdated if the studio changes direction.
- Confirm the region and edition. If Blizzard eventually announces either race, check whether the announcement applies to your region, launch phase and edition rather than assuming every account receives identical access.
Launch timing and the limits of the available product information
Blizzard’s official-page search excerpt lists November 4, 2026 as the launch date for WoW: Forever and describes beta access and game-time entitlements. However, the page itself could not be opened for verification when the information was collected. Those details should therefore be treated as page-excerpt information until confirmed on the live official site.

The launch-date detail does not change the race answer. Even if the listed date remains accurate, Blizzard’s reported policy still says Goblins and Vulpera are not planned at this time. Launch timing and race availability are separate questions: one concerns when the game becomes available, while the other concerns which races belong to its continuity and current content plan.
Common misunderstandings
- “They are in modern World of Warcraft, so they must be in Forever.” Not when the two games use different continuity choices. Blizzard’s reported plan specifically avoids importing expansion races for now.
- “No plans” is the same as “never.” It is not. The statement is explicitly time-qualified.
- A package that mentions game access must include every race. Product access and race entitlements are different. Only an explicit race listing confirms access.
- A missing announcement proves a race is cancelled. The available evidence supports “not currently planned,” not a permanent cancellation.
- Goblins and Vulpera are competing options in the character creator. Under the reported plan, neither is an announced option, so there is no current in-game comparison to make.
Bottom line for players deciding whether to wait
Choose WoW: Forever with the assumption that Goblins and Vulpera will not be available under Blizzard’s current reported plans. If those races are the reason you would play, wait for a direct Blizzard announcement before treating them as part of the game’s future. If you are open to a race created for the new continuity, Skyborne is the race identified in the official product-page excerpt, subject to confirmation of the live page’s edition and access requirements.
The most accurate answer can change only when Blizzard changes or clarifies its plan. Until then, “not expected at this time” is the evidence-based answer—not “available now,” and not “impossible forever.”
