Yes, but not as a PS5 game. A community-made homebrew app called PSBox Cloud Gaming reportedly streams Xbox Cloud Gaming to a jailbroken PS5, which could let players stream Gears of War: E-Day. The app author claims support for DualSense controls and streaming up to 1080p60, but reports testing it on only one PS5 running system software 13.60. These are the author’s claims, not independently verified results. Read the app announcement.
What “playable on PS5” means here
Gears of War: E-Day is not listed as a native PS5 release. Xbox lists it for Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, with a release date of October 6, 2026. The PS5 workaround described by the app’s author is to stream the game through Xbox Cloud Gaming using unofficial homebrew software, rather than install or run a PS5 version of the game. Xbox Store listing.
Xbox Wire says cloud gaming is available through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW. However, the PS5 app author says their client requires Game Pass. Those are distinct access routes: availability on a cloud service does not establish that the game can be accessed through this particular homebrew client without the subscription the author specifies. Plan eligibility and service availability can vary by region and change over time. Xbox Wire launch announcement.
What the PS5 homebrew app claims
RafaelNGP describes PSBox Cloud Gaming as a native Xbox Cloud Gaming client for jailbroken PS5 consoles. The post claims streaming at up to 1080p60 with sound and DualSense controls mapped for Xbox play. The author says the app was tested on one PS5 running system software 13.60. There are no independently reported latency or network-quality measurements, broader device tests, or reproduced results in the cited announcement, so treat the resolution and compatibility claims as unverified.

The author’s post says: “You NEED xbox game pass subscription to play!” That is the app author’s requirement for this client, not a statement from Microsoft. The post does not establish compatibility across PS5 hardware revisions or other firmware versions.
Setup described by the app author
The following is a summary of the author’s instructions, not independently verified installation guidance. It presumes a jailbroken PS5 and a homebrew loader; the author does not describe a route for an unmodified console.

Those prices are for the US listing and may change or differ by region. A game purchase or subscription is separate from the homebrew setup; neither makes this a native PS5 release. The listed modes include solo play, two-player split-screen on console, online co-op for up to four players, Horde Siege PvE, and Versus PvP. Xbox Store game details.
Xbox Wire also announced a physical Xbox Series X Collector’s Edition with a disc and collectibles, including a 15-inch statue, replica COG tags, and a print.
