No official native PC release of Bloodborne is listed by PlayStation. Sony’s product page identifies it as a PS4 game and confirms that it is playable on PS5 as a PS4 title. Unofficial PC experiments are a separate, unsupported matter, and no reliable universal PC performance target or official minimum specs are established here.
Is Bloodborne on PC?
PlayStation’s U.S. product page lists Bloodborne for PS4, names Sony Interactive Entertainment as publisher, and gives a release date of March 24, 2015. The official materials reviewed do not identify a native PC edition. That describes the listing currently available in those sources; it is not a claim about what Sony may announce in the future.

Former Sony executive Shuhei Yoshida was reported by GamesRadar+ in 2026 as saying, “There’s no PC release.” The outlet said the remark was made during a keynote at the Computer Entertainment Developers Conference and translated by GamesRadar+. It reflects the release status he described at that time, not a promise about future releases. GamesRadar+’s report

There is no official PC edition listed by PlayStation, so there is no supported native PC installation to download. A native port means a version released for PC; it is different from unofficial projects that attempt to run PS4 software on PC through emulation or related experimental techniques.
#1 Best Overall
- Bloodborne Game of The Year
- If Bloodborne needs to be summed up, then the prevalent themes would be: exploring the fearsome unknown, intense life-and-death battles, and a familiar yet uniquely new online experience
- From the makers of the infamous Souls series, From Software's PS4 exclusive will attempt to take the tried and tested formula of giving players a sense of achievement to the next stage - especially when Miyazaki, the original creator of the Souls series is back at the helm
- What is promised is a harrowing experience like no other, and fans of tension, discovery, and straight up fun will sure to be excited to play Bloodborne
- If you have played the previous Souls games, then this one is a definite must buy
Some community posts describe an experimental approach as “without emulation,” while other commenters dispute that label and point to substantial GPU rendering work by ShadPS4. This disagreement illustrates why terminology in user posts can be unclear; it does not establish a stable, officially supported way to play. Any claim about a particular project, version, or compatibility level needs to be checked against that project’s current documentation and reproducible testing.
What PC specs do you need, and how well does it run?
Sony’s official materials do not provide PC system requirements, supported PC operating systems, or a PC frame-rate target. No official minimum specifications or guaranteed performance figures are established here. Unofficial results can depend on the project build, game version, patches, hardware, and settings, so an individual “playable” report does not set a universal minimum or predict another user’s results.

- Bloodborne - Game Of The Year Edition [PS4]
There is no verified benchmark here to support a general promise of a particular resolution or frame rate, including claims such as “4K/60.” Treat any such figure as specific to the reporter’s configuration unless it is backed by current, reproducible testing with the build and hardware clearly identified.
Can you play Bloodborne on PS5?
Yes. PlayStation’s product page says the PS4 game is playable on PS5, with the warning: “Although this game is playable on PS5, some features available on PS4 may be absent.” Sony’s PS4-to-PS5 backward-compatibility guidance says the overwhelming majority of PS4 games work on PS5, while noting that some functionality may be unavailable and that some games may show errors or unexpected behavior.

- A Terrifying New World: Journey to a horror-filled gothic city where deranged mobs and nightmarish creatures lurk around every corner.
- Strategic Action Combat: Armed with a unique arsenal of weaponry, including guns and saw cleavers, you'll need wits, strategy and reflexes to take down the agile and intelligent enemies that guard the city's dark secrets.
- A New Generation of Action RPG: Stunningly detailed gothic environments, atmospheric lighting, and advanced new online experiences showcase the power and prowess of PlayStation 4.
This establishes backward compatibility, not a native PS5 edition, performance patch, frame-rate target, or resolution upgrade.
Using a physical PS4 disc
A PS4 disc can be used on a PS5 console with a disc drive, and the disc must remain inserted while playing. A PS5 Digital Edition cannot read PS4 game discs.

Using a digital copy and controllers
Digital PS4 games can be downloaded from the owner’s library. Sony says DualSense, DUALSHOCK 4, and officially licensed third-party gamepads work with supported PS4 games on PS5.

Which route is more predictable: PlayStation or unofficial PC experiments?
| Route | Official support | Compatibility certainty | Hardware requirement | Performance predictability |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| PS4 game on PS4 or compatible PS5 | PlayStation lists the PS4 game and confirms PS5 playability. | Documented by PlayStation, with its stated caveat that some PS4 features may be absent on PS5. | PS4 or PS5; a PS4 disc requires a PS5 with a disc drive. | No specific performance target is established by the cited compatibility information. |
| Unofficial PC experimentation | No official PC release or supported PC configuration is identified in the official sources reviewed. | Depends on the project, build, game version, hardware, and settings; community accounts are not guarantees. | No authoritative minimum PC specifications are established. | Variable; no general frame-rate or resolution guarantee is established. |
For the documented route, check the local PlayStation store for current regional availability and catalog terms. The product page may show a PlayStation Plus Extra catalog offer, but catalog inclusion and subscription terms can vary by region and over time.
Which release dates are listed?
PlayStation’s U.S. game page lists March 24, 2015. Sony Group Corporation’s FY25.4Q supplemental information lists Bloodborne as a PS4 title with a U.S. release date of March 26, 2015, and reports 1.0 million cumulative sell-through units as of April 5, 2015—11 days after the date in Sony’s table. These are different dates in different Sony sources, so they should not be treated as interchangeable. The unit figure is historical, not a current sales total.
