No—IMO says it does not provide a feature to track another person’s location. Its Location option lets a user send a location in a chat; it is not a way to look up or monitor where the other person is. You can search for IMO users by name or find people through synced phone contacts, but that finds an account, not a physical location.
Can you locate someone on IMO?
IMO’s Help Center states, “Imo does not provide a feature to track the location of a person.” It also says users should respect others’ privacy and not attempt to track someone without consent. This is IMO’s documented feature guidance, not an independent technical audit; the statement is from its FAQ published January 11, 2024: Can I know the location of a person on imo?
That means there is no documented IMO search or setting for secretly discovering another user’s current whereabouts. Do not treat contact discovery, a profile, or a location message as a tracking function.
What IMO’s Location option does
IMO documents Location as something a user can send from a chat. To share one, open the conversation, tap the plus symbol beside the message input box, choose “Location,” and follow the prompts. The feature is a user action that sends location information in the chat; it does not let you request or continuously track the other participant’s location. See IMO’s instructions: How to send media, contacts, or location in imo?

How to find a person on IMO
If you are trying to find someone’s IMO account rather than their physical location, IMO’s help page describes searching synced phone contacts or searching by name. You can also invite a person who is not already on IMO. Finding or adding an account does not reveal that person’s location.
- Allow IMO to access your contacts in your device’s permissions if you want to find people from your address book.
- In IMO, check the contact-sync option and sync your contacts.
- Search for the person by name or look through the synced contacts.
- If the person is not on IMO, use the app’s invite option.
IMO’s instructions are here: How to find imo contacts? Menu names and locations may differ by app version or operating system; the help page does not establish identical controls across all devices.

Why a contact or profile detail may be missing
The contact does not appear
IMO recommends checking that the app has device contact permission and that “Add Automatically and Sync Contacts” is enabled. These are troubleshooting checks for contact discovery, not location access. Follow IMO’s guidance at Why can not I see my contacts on imo?

IMO says another user’s privacy settings may restrict what you can see. Its help information says phone numbers are not visible to other users by default; profile pictures and usernames may be visible depending on privacy settings. IMO also says users can manage who can see their profile, contact them, and access personal information. What to do if you need someone’s location
Ask the person to share their location with you through a chat if they choose to do so. IMO’s documented location flow is for sending a location, and the app says it has no person-tracking feature. Avoid third-party tracking apps or devices presented as an IMO workaround: IMO’s guidance does not support them as a way to locate someone through the app.
