Yes—if the tablet was set up for remote finding, you can locate it through Samsung Find or SmartThings Find. Google Find Hub is another option when a Google account is linked to the tablet. A powered-off tablet may show only its last known location, and offline finding is not a guarantee of an exact location.
What you need for Samsung tablet tracking
The Samsung route uses the Samsung account associated with the tablet. Samsung lists these basic conditions for finding it: the tablet is powered on, connected to a stable network, linked to a Samsung account, and configured with remote controls enabled. Menu names and feature availability can vary by model, software version, and region.
Google Find Hub is a second route if a Google account is on the tablet. Which service works depends on the accounts and finding settings configured on that device.

Set up finding before the tablet goes missing
Enable Samsung’s lost-device controls
- Add a Samsung account: Sign in to the Samsung account you would use to find the tablet.
- Open the lost-device settings: On the tablet, go to Settings > Security and privacy > Lost device protection. The path may differ on some models or software versions.
- Verify the switches: Turn on Allow this tablet to be found, Send last location, and Offline finding, if those options are available. Samsung says remote controls are enabled by default when a Samsung account is added, but checking these settings confirms what is active. Samsung’s setup instructions.
Check Google Find Hub
If a Google account is on the tablet, Samsung’s US support page says Find Hub is automatically enabled when that account is added during setup. To check its location setting, open Settings > Google > Find Hub and verify Allow device to be located. Samsung’s Find Hub instructions.

Find the tablet from another device
- On another phone, tablet, or computer, open Samsung Find or SmartThings Find.
- Sign in with the Samsung account associated with the missing tablet.
- Select the tablet from the device list to view its location and available actions.
- If it does not appear in Samsung’s service, check Google Find Hub using the Google account associated with the tablet.
Samsung’s tablet-finding guidance is available at Samsung Support; Google’s service can also locate, ring, lock, or erase a linked Android tablet, subject to its setup and connection conditions.
What happens if the tablet is offline or powered off?
Powered off
Samsung says that when a tablet is powered off, only its last known location may be available. That is not a live location, so it may not show where the device is now. Enabling Send last location beforehand can help preserve that last reported position. Samsung’s explanation of lost-device settings.

Offline finding
Offline finding is different from tracking a tablet that is actively connected. When enabled and supported, nearby participating Galaxy devices—called Find Nodes—may relay a lost Galaxy device’s location. Samsung cautions that Find Nodes do not indicate the lost device’s exact location. Support and availability vary by device and region, so treat this as a possible aid, not a dependable live-tracking method. Samsung UK’s SmartThings Find guidance and Find Node explanation.
Remote actions you can take
Samsung lists several controls in its finding service. The options shown can depend on the tablet and its connection state. Samsung’s feature guide and remote-action instructions describe these actions:

- Track location: Requests location updates every 15 minutes, according to Samsung. Updates are not continuous.
- Ring: Makes the tablet ring for one minute, even if it is muted or set to vibrate.
- Lock: Lets you set a PIN and optionally display a contact message on the device.
- Extend battery life: Samsung lists this as an available action to help preserve power.
- Erase data: Remotely deletes data from the tablet. Consider this only as a last resort: after erasure, finding may no longer be possible. Samsung advises backing up before a remote factory reset.
If a remote erase cannot be sent, Samsung advises changing passwords for accounts signed in on the device. If the map suggests the tablet was stolen, do not go to the location yourself; contact authorities and let them recover it.
