Only the separately sold Samsung S Pen Pro supports SmartThings Find. Samsung says an S Pen built into a Galaxy phone or tablet cannot be located with that service. For the Pro, Offline Finding must be enabled before the pen goes missing, and Samsung says the pen must be powered on for it to work.
Which Samsung pens can SmartThings Find locate?

Samsung Support (India) explains that the built-in pen does not support the feature, while the S Pen Pro does as a separately available accessory. See Samsung’s S Pen Pro SmartThings Find instructions. This is a capability difference, not a setting that can be enabled on a built-in pen.
How to set up S Pen Pro finding before it is lost
Enable Offline Finding in SmartThings while you still have the pen. Samsung’s instructions place the setting here; names or placement can vary by region, software version, and device model.

- Open the SmartThings app and go to Life > Find.
- Tap More options > Settings > Allow devices to be found.
- Turn on Offline Finding. Samsung also describes an optional Encrypt offline location setting.
- Make sure you are using a Samsung account and the S Pen Pro is powered on.
Samsung’s setup guidance specifies that Offline Finding must be enabled before the pen is misplaced and that the pen must be powered on for the feature to work. The instructions are on Samsung India Support.

How to look for a missing S Pen Pro
- Open SmartThings and select the Find card or go to Life > Find.
- Select S Pen Pro from the devices shown.
- Check its displayed location on the map. Refresh the location if that option appears.
- Use an available action, such as Navigate or Blink light, if shown for your setup.
Samsung’s US instructions describe viewing the S Pen Pro’s location and using Navigate or Blink light. These options and menu labels can vary with region, software, and model; Samsung’s S Pen Pro feature guide gives its current US workflow.
What tracking can—and cannot—tell you
SmartThings Find can display a location and offer a way to navigate toward it, but Samsung’s support material does not promise precise, continuous live tracking in every circumstance. Whether an updated location or an action is available depends on the setup and device conditions; do not treat the map as a guaranteed real-time position.

If you believe the pen was stolen, Samsung advises against going to the displayed location. Contact local authorities instead. Samsung’s general SmartThings Find guidance also notes that functions can vary by carrier, software, and model.

Writing compatibility and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) features are separate. A pen that works for writing on a Galaxy device is not automatically compatible with Air Actions or other BLE-dependent features, and writing support alone does not establish that SmartThings Find will work. Samsung says BLE functions depend on device support and applicable requirements.

The S Pen Pro support page lists selected Galaxy Z Fold, S Ultra, Tab, and Book families, and notes that Air Actions are unavailable on some listed devices. Check the current list for your exact model and the feature you want on Samsung’s S Pen Pro feature guide.
