Usually, no. EA’s standard guidance does not identify matches, Objectives, Squad Building Challenges, or Transfer Market activity as ways to earn FC Points. Those activities can award Ultimate Team Coins, Season Points, items, and other rewards instead. FC Points are normally purchased through EA, your platform store, or a trusted retailer. A promotion or paid edition can include points, but that is not the same as earning them through free gameplay.
What “free FC Points” actually means
There are three different situations that players often describe as “getting FC Points for free,” and they should not be treated as equivalent:

- Gameplay earning: You play matches, complete Objectives, or use the market and receive a currency. EA’s general guidance describes these systems as awarding Coins, Season Points, items, and other Ultimate Team rewards—not FC Points.
- A paid bundle: A game edition, subscription edition, retailer promotion, or limited offer includes FC Points in its advertised contents. You receive the points without a separate points purchase, but money or a qualifying subscription is still required.
- A genuinely free promotion: EA grants points without requiring a purchase. The official material reviewed for this article, accessed October 9, 2026, does not establish a universal promotion available to every player.
Therefore, a claim that you can repeatedly farm FC Points by playing ordinary matches is not supported by EA’s standard descriptions. Treat any current exception as a specific promotion that must be checked for its game year, country, platform, edition, dates, and eligibility rules.
FC Points, Coins, and Season Points are different
The fastest way to avoid a costly misunderstanding is to identify the currency shown in the reward screen. EA uses separate systems for purchases, gameplay earnings, and season progression.

Do matches, Objectives, or the Transfer Market give FC Points?
Matches
Playing matches can produce Coins, match rewards, items, and progress toward other objectives. EA’s safety guidance specifically says players can earn Coins by playing matches. It does not say that match completion deposits FC Points into the account. A match reward that contains a pack, item, or Coins should not be described as an FC Points reward unless the reward screen explicitly names FC Points.
Objectives
Objectives award Season Points and other listed rewards. SP advances the Season Pass track; it does not increase an FC Points balance. Before completing an Objective for a particular purpose, open its reward details and check whether the listed item is SP, Coins, an item, or something else.
Transfer Market activity
Selling items for fair prices is an EA-described way to earn Coins. Buying or selling items does not create FC Points, and a Coin balance cannot be exchanged for them. Be especially cautious of websites that promise to turn market activity into FC Points: that promise conflicts with the currency distinction in EA’s guidance and may ask for account credentials or rule-breaking transfers.

If you decide to use FC Points, stay within the purchase routes EA identifies. Availability and labels can vary by game, platform, country, and account.

- Check the in-game Ultimate Team Store. Open the store in the current FC title, select the FC Points denomination shown for your account, and review the final price and platform before confirming.
- Use the platform’s official store. Console and PC storefronts may sell points directly or process the purchase through the account linked to the game. Confirm that the store region matches your game account; a code or currency from another region may not redeem.
- Check EA’s official app route where offered. EA identifies its apps as a possible purchase channel, but not every country or account has the same functionality. Follow the purchase screen’s local terms rather than assuming the option is universal.
- Redeem a code from a trusted retailer. EA’s safety guidance describes retailer cards that can be redeemed for FC Points. Keep the receipt, verify the denomination and region, and enter the code only in the official redemption flow.
Platform or retailer gift cards are paid top-up methods. Buying one does not make FC Points free; it only changes how you pay for them.
When a paid edition or promotion includes points
An included allocation can look like a free reward because no separate FC Points transaction appears on the account. The relevant question is whether the qualifying product or subscription costs money.
The FC 26 EA Play Pro example
EA’s FC 26 offer disclaimer described 6,000 FC Points bundled with a paid EA Play Pro Edition. The allocation was split into three equal distributions of 2,000 points, required an active subscription, and was subject to redemption deadlines. The disclaimer also stated that the edition and points purchase were unavailable in Belgium and South Korea.

- The points were tied to a paid edition and subscription, so they were not earnings from free matches.
- The three-part schedule meant that qualifying for the edition did not necessarily deliver all points at once.
- An inactive subscription, a missed deadline, an excluded country, or an ineligible platform could prevent a distribution.
- The terms belonged to that specific FC 26 offer. They do not establish a permanent benefit for later editions or a current offer for every player.
As of the October 9, 2026 official material reviewed for this question, no universal free promotion for all players was established. A live offer can change by date, country, platform, edition, or account, so inspect the current in-game notice and its complete terms before relying on one.
How to build your club without buying FC Points
You can improve an Ultimate Team club without purchasing points, but the route uses gameplay rewards rather than a conversion into FC Points.
- Play the modes that list Coins or item rewards. Check the reward preview before starting so you know whether the activity pays Coins, grants an item, or advances another progression track.
- Complete Objectives for SP and their listed rewards. Objectives can move you along the Season Pass and unlock the rewards shown on that track.
- Use the Transfer Market within the rules. Selling items for fair prices can generate Coins. Keep transactions normal and avoid arrangements designed to transfer Coins between accounts.
- Compare the opportunity cost of store purchases. If you have earned Coins, decide whether a market item or another permitted use helps your squad more than spending scarce resources on a short-term upgrade.
- Track unclaimed rewards and deadlines. A reward that was earned but not claimed, or a seasonal task that expired, cannot be treated as a source of FC Points later.
This approach can supply players, consumables, packs, and other club resources, but none of those rewards should be relabeled as FC Points.
Safety rules and common traps
Third-party Coin sellers
EA warns against buying Coins and distributing Coins outside the game’s permitted systems. Penalties can include removal of Coins, deletion of a club, or a ban. That warning concerns Coin transactions; it does not prove that every offer outside EA is fraudulent. The practical rule is to use only purchase and redemption routes that EA identifies as trusted and never share login credentials with a seller.

“Free generator” and survey sites
A page promising unlimited FC Points in exchange for your username, password, verification code, remote access, or a download is not an EA gameplay method. Do not provide account details or install software to claim points. Close the page and use the game’s official store or support channel instead.
Region and platform mismatches
Codes, editions, and promotions can be restricted by country or platform. Check the account region, the platform named in the offer, and the redemption deadline before purchasing a code. A low price is not useful if the entitlement cannot be applied to your account.
Confusing an item or pack with points
A bundle may advertise a pack, player item, Coins, Season Pass progress, and FC Points together. Read the contents line by line. Only an entry explicitly labeled FC Points increases that balance; the other contents do not become points after redemption.
How to verify a current offer before you spend money
- Open the offer from the current FC game, EA’s official help or product pages, or your platform’s authenticated store—not from an unsolicited message.
- Record the exact game edition and platform named in the offer.
- Check whether the requirement is a purchase, an active subscription, a code, or a genuinely no-cost entitlement.
- Look for the distribution schedule, final redemption date, and any requirement to log in or claim each installment.
- Confirm country and account eligibility, including exclusions such as those stated in the FC 26 disclaimer for Belgium and South Korea.
- Save the terms and receipt. If points do not appear after a qualifying purchase, contact the official support route with the transaction details rather than using a third-party “fix.”
Bottom line for players asking “Can I get FC Points without buying them?”
Normal gameplay is not an FC Points earning system in EA’s standard guidance. Matches, Objectives, and fair-price market sales can provide Coins, SP, items, and other rewards, while FC Points remain an optional purchased currency. A paid edition or time-limited promotion may include points, but its price, subscription status, region, platform, and deadlines determine whether you qualify. Treat any claim of a universal free method as unverified until the current official terms say otherwise.
