The REZE FLOW M5 is designed to move curtains in response to changing sunlight, including a maker-described routine that partly closes them when direct sun reaches a TV and opens them again as the sun moves. That could help manage glare, but the available sources do not independently verify how accurately it tracks the sun or how much glare it prevents. It is also a complete replacement curtain rod—not a motor that clips onto your existing hardware—so fit, installation, and smart-home compatibility matter.
How the M5’s sun-sync feature is supposed to work
The M5 combines a curtain rod and a concealed motor. REZE FLOW describes positioning curtains according to changing sunlight; Homecrux gives the example of closing them partway around noon to keep direct sunlight off a TV, then opening them as the sun moves. This is a product capability described by the maker and reported by Homecrux, not an independently verified glare-reduction result. The sources do not establish tracking accuracy or explain in detail how the system determines when sunlight reaches a particular spot in a room.
That distinction matters: following a sunlight pattern is not necessarily the same as detecting glare on a screen. Treat the feature as a promising automation concept, not a guarantee that the M5 will identify every sun patch or eliminate reflections.

The M5 is an all-in-one rod system with its own wall brackets. It is intended to replace existing curtain hardware, rather than attach a motor to a rod or track you already own. Plan to mount new hardware and check that your wall or window area can accommodate the installation. The maker’s FAQ covers installation and bracket requirements: REZE FLOW M5 campaign FAQ.

Check window width, curtain style, and weight
Choose a size for the window
REZE FLOW lists two sizes in its FAQ. The M5 opens from the center toward both sides, so it is designed for a center-opening arrangement rather than a one-way draw.

The listed ranges overlap. Measure the window and confirm the product’s current sizing and installation guidance before choosing a size; the FAQ does not explain which size to select within the overlap.

Confirm the curtain header fits
The FAQ says ring-top and grommet-top curtains are supported if the inner diameter of the rings or grommets is at least 1.6 inches (40 mm). It also says the M5 does not directly support S-fold or Ripplefold curtains. If your panels use one of those styles, do not assume they will work with this rod.

Stay within the load and support limits
REZE FLOW lists a maximum curtain load of 33 lb (15 kg). Its FAQ calls for a third center bracket when the rod extends beyond 78 inches (2 m), to limit sag and support smooth operation. Check the current instructions for the configuration you plan to install rather than relying on the weight limit alone.

Smart-home scheduling depends on your platform
REZE FLOW describes the M5 as a Matter device and says sunrise and sunset routines can be set up in Apple Home and Alexa. The maker says a compatible ecosystem hub is required for advanced scheduling and remote access. Matter compatibility alone does not mean that every app or automation feature works without the relevant hub or platform support.
The maker FAQ said Google Home did not then support curtain or blind scheduling in Routines, although voice control was available. Platform features change, so confirm current M5 compatibility and routine options with the platform you plan to use before buying. What the published performance claims do—and do not—show
REZE FLOW reports a noise level of ≤45 dB measured 1 m away with a 4 m rod and a 15 kg curtain. That is the maker’s stated test result, not an independent measurement. Homecrux also reports the maker’s claim of more than 10,000 opening-and-closing cycles and testing involving heat, humidity, and salt spray. The available reporting does not provide a third-party test report for those claims.
These figures offer some context about the manufacturer’s stated testing, but they do not establish how quietly or reliably a particular installation will operate in your home.

Availability and preorder details may have changed
Homecrux reported on October 5, 2026, that Kickstarter preorders started at $159, with delivery planned for November 2026. Those were reported campaign terms and a planned delivery date, not confirmation of a current offer or completed delivery. Check the campaign or seller for current availability, price, shipping, and delivery terms. Homecrux’s M5 report provides the dated report.
Is the M5 a fit for your room?
- It may suit you if you want a complete motorized rod, your window fits a listed size, your curtains have compatible rings or grommets, and your smart-home platform supports the automations you need.
- Look carefully before committing if you want to keep your existing rod or track, use S-fold or Ripplefold panels, draw curtains to one side, or rely on Google Home routines for scheduled movement.
- Do not buy on the glare claim alone if you need proven sunlight detection or a guaranteed reduction in screen reflections; the cited coverage describes the feature but does not independently test its results.
Before ordering, compare the M5 with other motorized window treatments on the points that determine whether it will work in your room: replacement installation versus a retrofit motor, center-opening movement, curtain attachment and weight, the type of sun-based automation available, and hub and power requirements. Confirm current product terms and platform support for your setup.
