Yes. The PSB iQ2 is designed to handle all three roles in one stereo system: TV audio through HDMI eARC, a turntable through its built-in moving-magnet (MM) phono input, and whole-home playback through BluOS. The two iQ2 speakers also form a wireless left/right stereo pair.
There are important compatibility boundaries. Your television must have a compatible eARC connection, your turntable must use an MM cartridge or an output configuration PSB confirms as compatible, and every additional room needs its own BluOS-enabled speaker or audio system. The wireless link between the two iQ2 speakers is not the same thing as BluOS multiroom networking.
What the PSB iQ2 supports
PSB lists the iQ2 as a pair of powered streaming speakers rather than a passive-speaker package that needs a separate amplifier. Its published connections and network features cover the three sources in your question:
| Use case | iQ2 feature | What you must have | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|
| Television | HDMI eARC input | A TV with a compatible eARC-capable HDMI connection | Exact TV audio menus and supported output formats depend on the television and should be checked in both manuals. |
| Turntable | Built-in Phono MM input and phono preamp | A turntable using a moving-magnet cartridge, or a configuration PSB confirms as suitable | This specification does not establish compatibility with every moving-coil cartridge or unusual line-output arrangement. |
| Multiroom music | BluOS playback and multiroom support | At least one additional BluOS-enabled speaker or audio system in another room | The iQ2 pair alone does not create additional rooms, and not every source is automatically distributed to every room. |
| Left/right stereo | Low-latency wireless link between the two iQ2 speakers | The matching iQ2 left and right speakers | This is a local stereo connection, separate from Wi-Fi streaming and BluOS multiroom. |
PSB’s June 23, 2026 iQ-series announcement describes the system as combining stereo performance with simplified connections. That is a manufacturer description, not an independent listening test or comparative performance finding.

How the three connections fit together
TV audio stays in the living-room stereo pair
Connect the television’s eARC-capable HDMI port to the iQ2’s HDMI eARC input. The eARC path is the connection PSB identifies for straightforward TV setup. Once the TV sends audio over that link, the iQ2’s two speakers reproduce the left and right channels through their wireless stereo connection.
Check the labels on the television itself: a regular HDMI input is not automatically an eARC output. The port normally carries an “eARC” or “ARC/eARC” label, but naming varies by manufacturer. PSB’s published material does not establish a universal menu sequence, a required audio format, or whether a particular TV needs a setting changed, so consult the TV and iQ2 manuals for those details.
The turntable uses the iQ2’s internal phono stage
PSB lists “Phono MM” as an input and describes the iQ-series turntable connection as using a built-in MM phono preamp. That means an MM-cartridge turntable can connect to the dedicated phono input without requiring a separate phono preamplifier.

Cartridge type matters. A moving-coil (MC) cartridge has different electrical requirements, and the published iQ2 specification does not promise MC support. If your turntable has an MC cartridge, a switchable cartridge system, an unusual integrated output, or a separate phono preamp, check the turntable documentation and PSB’s current instructions before choosing an input or changing its output mode.
BluOS extends playback to other rooms
BluOS allows the iQ2 to play with other BluOS-enabled speakers and audio systems. Each additional room therefore needs compatible BluOS hardware; adding a second iQ2 pair is one possible arrangement, but the ecosystem is not limited to that exact speaker model.
The iQ2’s two-speaker wireless stereo link should not be confused with multiroom. The link joins the left and right channels of one pair with low latency. BluOS multiroom uses the network and compatible devices to coordinate playback between rooms. Owning the iQ2 pair does not, by itself, provide a speaker in a kitchen, bedroom, or office.

Before you connect anything
- Identify the TV’s eARC-capable HDMI port. Do not assume that every HDMI socket on the set supports audio return.
- Confirm the turntable cartridge type. The stated iQ2 phono input is for MM operation.
- List the other-room equipment and verify that each device is BluOS-enabled. A generic network speaker is not automatically a BluOS endpoint.
- Plan where the two iQ2 speakers will sit as a left/right pair and where they can obtain power.
- Check the current iQ2 manual and the exact package contents before buying cables. PSB’s published product information does not confirm which HDMI, RCA, USB, or other cables are included.
- Make sure your home network can reach every BluOS device if you intend to group rooms. The product description establishes BluOS multiroom support but does not specify a particular router, band, or network topology.
TV setup: a practical connection sequence
- Locate the correct TV socket. Find the HDMI port marked eARC (or ARC/eARC) on the television. Use the port identified by the TV manufacturer for audio return.
- Connect the eARC path. Run a suitable HDMI cable between that TV port and the iQ2 HDMI eARC input. Whether a cable is supplied with your particular package is not established in PSB’s published information, so check the box before purchasing one.
- Select the iQ2 input. On the speaker system, choose the HDMI eARC source using the controls or software described in the current iQ2 instructions.
- Set the TV’s audio destination. In the television’s sound settings, select the HDMI eARC/receiver output option specified by that TV’s manual. Menu names differ by brand and model.
- Test more than one source. Try live broadcast, an internal streaming app, and an external device if you use one. A TV can route these sources differently, so a successful test with one does not prove every source is configured identically.
- Resolve silence methodically. Confirm that the cable is in the eARC-labeled port, the iQ2 is on the HDMI input, the TV is not muted, and the TV’s audio-output choice matches the eARC instructions. If the set still produces no sound, consult both manuals rather than applying a format instruction from an unverified third-party guide.
PSB’s published sources do not verify a universal PCM-only requirement or any other single TV format setting. Treat such a setting as model-specific unless your television and iQ2 documentation explicitly requires it.

- Verify the cartridge. Check the turntable’s cartridge specification or the replacement stylus documentation for “MM” or “moving magnet.” If it says MC, stop and confirm compatibility before connecting.
- Prepare the turntable output. Follow the turntable maker’s instructions for its phono/line switch. The iQ2’s MM phono input is intended for the turntable’s phono-level output, while a turntable with its own active phono stage may require a different input arrangement. The exact switching behavior is model-specific.
- Connect the left and right RCA plugs. Attach the turntable’s left and right analog leads to the iQ2’s phono input, matching the channel markings and colors.
- Connect any required turntable ground. Use the grounding method specified by the turntable and iQ2 documentation. PSB’s supplied product information does not confirm the presence or location of a particular ground terminal.
- Select Phono MM. Choose the iQ2 phono source and start playback at a moderate volume.
- Diagnose hum or distortion. Recheck left/right channel placement, the turntable’s output-mode switch, cartridge type, and grounding. Distorted or excessively loud sound can indicate that a line-level output is being fed into a phono input; consult the turntable instructions before changing connections.
Do not assume that an MC cartridge can be made compatible simply by using an RCA adapter. Cartridge loading and gain are different from connector shape, so obtain a confirmed requirement from PSB or the turntable manufacturer.
Setting up BluOS multiroom playback
- Place the additional endpoint. Install a BluOS-enabled speaker or audio system in the room you want to add. The iQ2 pair is one room endpoint; it does not replace hardware in another room.
- Connect each device to your network. Follow the network-joining procedure in the current device documentation. PSB’s published materials establish BluOS support but do not publish one universal setup path for every router or BluOS product.
- Give rooms clear names. Use names such as “Living room” and “Kitchen” so you can identify endpoints when grouping them.
- Choose the music source in BluOS. PSB’s June 23, 2026 announcement says the iQ series supports more than 20 streaming services. That is a manufacturer count, not a complete or independently checked service list, and service availability can vary by country and account.
- Group rooms for synchronized playback. Use the BluOS control interface to select the iQ2 room and the other compatible room(s), then start or resume playback. The exact controls can change with the app version and device.
- Ungroup when separate playback is needed. Remove a room from the group when you want independent music. Grouping is a network playback function, not the same as the iQ2 speakers’ dedicated left/right wireless link.
PSB’s statement supports multiroom playback with BluOS-enabled equipment. It does not establish that every physical input, including a TV signal or turntable, can be synchronized to every room in every configuration. Verify source-distribution behavior in the current BluOS and iQ2 documentation before planning around whole-home TV or vinyl playback.

Inputs and expansion options
The current PSB product page lists HDMI eARC, optical, MM phono, BluOS, and Bluetooth aptX Adaptive. The June 23, 2026 iQ-series announcement additionally lists RCA, USB-C, USB-A, and a subwoofer output. These options let the iQ2 serve more than the three sources in the headline, but the role of each connector and any required mode selection should be confirmed in the current manual.
- Optical: An alternative digital source listed by PSB; it is distinct from the eARC TV path.
- Bluetooth aptX Adaptive: A wireless source for compatible Bluetooth devices; it is not the same as BluOS multiroom.
- RCA: Analog connectivity identified in the iQ-series announcement. Check the manual to determine the exact RCA input assignment before connecting a source.
- USB-C and USB-A: Listed expansion connections. PSB’s published sources do not establish supported file formats, charging behavior, or whether each port is an audio input.
- Subwoofer output: A connection for adding a subwoofer, subject to the output and crossover instructions in the iQ2 documentation.

The TV has HDMI but no eARC-labelled port
Check the television manual and the markings beside every HDMI socket. A set with only standard HDMI inputs may not provide the eARC connection PSB specifies for the TV use case. Do not assume that an adapter will add eARC functionality.

The TV is connected but silent
Verify the cable path, the selected iQ2 source, the TV’s audio destination, mute and volume states, and any TV-specific eARC controls. Because menu names and supported formats vary, use the two product manuals for the final setting rather than a generic instruction.
The turntable sounds quiet, loud, or distorted
Recheck whether the cartridge is MM, whether the turntable is set to phono or line output, and whether the selected iQ2 input matches that output. An MC cartridge is not confirmed as compatible by the MM specification.
Another room does not appear in BluOS
Confirm that the other product actually supports BluOS, that it has completed network setup, and that your phone or tablet is controlling the same home network. The iQ2’s local wireless stereo connection cannot make a non-BluOS device appear in the multiroom system.
Rooms play at different times
Make sure the rooms are grouped through BluOS rather than playing the same service independently. If synchronization remains unreliable, check network connectivity and the current BluOS and device software instructions.
Is the iQ2 a fit for this three-part system?
The iQ2 is a logical match when you want one powered stereo pair to cover eARC television audio, an MM turntable, and BluOS music in a home that can add compatible endpoints later. Its low-latency wireless speaker link avoids a speaker cable between the left and right units, while BluOS handles the separate task of grouping rooms.
Look for a different arrangement or obtain additional advice before buying if your turntable uses an MC cartridge, your TV lacks a compatible eARC port, or your multiroom plan depends on equipment outside the BluOS ecosystem. Also verify current documentation for source sharing, included cables, and any device-specific settings; those details are not established by the general product descriptions.
