Yes—Samsung Galaxy users can join a FaceTime call through a web link sent by an Apple user. They do not install or use the FaceTime app on Galaxy: they open the link in a supported browser, enter a name, allow camera and microphone access if requested, and wait for the host to admit them.
How FaceTime works on a Samsung Galaxy
An Apple user must create and share the FaceTime link. The Galaxy user cannot start this web-join flow on their own. Samsung Support confirms that Galaxy users can “join FaceTime calls with Apple users,” while Apple’s instructions describe joining from Android through a browser.
This is browser access to a call, not the FaceTime app for Galaxy. Apple lists the latest Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on Android as supported browsers and recommends a strong Wi-Fi or mobile internet connection. - Ask the Apple user to send you a FaceTime link. The host creates the link and shares it with you.
- Open the link in the latest Chrome or Edge. If it opens in another browser, copy the link and open it in one of those supported browsers.
- Enter a name when prompted, then continue.
- Allow microphone and camera access if the browser asks. These permissions are needed to use your audio and video in the call.
- Tap Join and wait. The host controls entry and may need to admit you before you can participate.
- Tap Leave when you want to exit the call.
What the web call does not include
FaceTime on the web does not have feature parity with the Apple app. Apple states that “SharePlay and screen sharing aren’t available in FaceTime on the web.” If either feature is essential, arrange another way to call that supports what you need rather than assuming the Galaxy browser session can provide it.

If the FaceTime link or call does not work
- Check the browser: open the link in the latest Chrome or Edge on Android.
- Check the connection: use reliable Wi-Fi or mobile data.
- Check permissions: make sure the browser is allowed to use the phone’s camera and microphone.
- Check with the host: if you have joined but cannot enter the call, the host may not have admitted you yet.
These checks follow Apple’s stated browser and connection requirements; they are not a guarantee that every account, link, or network problem will be resolved.
Other video-call options for Galaxy users
If the call does not specifically need to be FaceTime, Samsung’s support material presents Google Meet as a Galaxy option. Depending on the device, carrier, and software, Meet may be available as an app or through the Phone app’s video-call interface. Samsung also lists WhatsApp, Facebook, Skype, and Snapchat as alternatives. The other person may need the same service or an invitation, depending on the app and how its calls work.
