Yes. You can attend two separate Microsoft Teams meetings at the same time by joining one meeting on each device—for example, Meeting A on your laptop and Meeting B on your phone or tablet. Microsoft documents joining meetings from multiple devices, although it does not publish a special “two meetings at once” mode or guarantee a maximum number of simultaneous meetings.
The practical limit is not usually whether Teams will let you connect. It is managing two audio streams, microphones, cameras, notifications, and meeting policies without accidentally speaking in the wrong meeting.
How to join two different Teams meetings simultaneously
Use one device for each meeting. The meetings can be accessed from the Teams calendar, an invitation link, a meeting ID, or a guest/anonymous join flow.
- Join the first meeting on Device 1. Open the meeting invitation or go to Teams > Calendar, select Meeting A, and choose Join.
- Open Meeting B on Device 2. On a second computer, phone, or tablet, open the invitation or Teams calendar.
- Select Meeting B and choose Join.
- Check the pre-join screen carefully. Confirm the meeting title, account, microphone, speaker, and camera before entering.
- Mute one or both meetings unless you genuinely need to listen and speak in both.
On mobile, the calendar route is Teams > Calendar > tap the meeting > Join. If you have a meeting ID and passcode, use Calendar > More > Join with meeting ID, enter the details, and tap Join meeting.

From the web, open the Teams meeting page, enter the Meeting ID and Passcode, and select Join meeting. A meeting link may open the desktop app, mobile app, or web client depending on the device and your account state.
What happens to your account?
For two separate meetings, each device may use the same Teams account, a different account, or—if the organizer and tenant policies allow it—an anonymous or guest identity.
Using a different account on the second device
On desktop, select the meeting in Calendar, choose Join, then select Change next to the account shown at the top of the pre-join screen. Pick the other account and join.
On mobile, tap the meeting, tap Join, and use Switch to choose another account or join without signing in.
Joining anonymously
From the pre-join screen, choose Change > Join without signing in, enter your name, and join. On mobile, use Switch > Join without signing in > enter your name > Join now.
Anonymous access is not guaranteed. The organizer or tenant administrator may require an authorized account, an email address, or a one-time passcode. In a meeting, an email-verified guest may appear as Email verified, an anonymous participant without an email may appear as Unverified, and a person using a Microsoft account may appear as External, where applicable.

- One-touch mute/unmute with intuitive in-line control box; Using microphone, slide the button upward to unmute and enabled audio settings in your device. Do both meetings have to be on the same account?
No, not for two different meetings. The account requirement is often confused with Teams’ companion-device behavior. Microsoft’s documented flow for adding a second device to the same meeting expects both devices to be signed in to the same Teams account. That does not prevent you from joining two different meetings with different accounts or as a guest.

If you are joining the same meeting on both devices, Teams identifies the existing session and offers Join call or Join. You can then choose Add this device to keep both devices in the meeting, or Transfer to this device to move the meeting and remove the first device.
Do not confuse two meetings with joining one meeting on two devices
| Situation | What Teams does |
|---|---|
| Two separate meetings on two devices | Each device joins its own meeting independently. |
| The same meeting on two devices | Teams offers Add this device or Transfer to this device. |
| Adding a second device to the same meeting | Teams disables audio devices on the added device to reduce echo. |
| Moving the same meeting to another device | Transfer to this device removes the first device from the meeting. |
For the same meeting, the second desktop device has its camera and microphone turned off automatically. On mobile, the speaker, camera, and microphone are turned off. You can enable them manually, but you should normally leave the second device muted unless you need it for a specific purpose, such as sharing live video from a phone while presenting from a laptop.
How to avoid echo and accidental interruptions
The main problem with two simultaneous meetings is audio, not the calendar. If both devices play sound in the same room, participants may hear an echo or feedback loop. If both microphones are enabled, either meeting can pick up audio from the other.
- Use headphones or earbuds for at least one meeting.
- Keep the microphone muted on the meeting you are mainly monitoring.
- Disable the camera on the less important meeting unless video is required.
- Use separate rooms or physically separate the devices where possible.
- Confirm the active meeting title before unmuting.
- Do not rely only on the Teams window color or notification; read the meeting name.
- Test which device is producing sound before the meetings begin.
Teams lets you enter the pre-join screen up to 15 minutes before the scheduled start time, which is useful for checking the correct account, camera, microphone, and speaker on both devices. Participants and organizers are notified when you enter.
Crashes, No Sound, or Screen Glitches?

Teams can show the current meeting and the number of other meetings that are live in the meeting bar. Selecting View meetings displays the active-meeting list and lets you join a meeting directly. However, Microsoft does not describe a single-client feature that combines the audio and video streams of two separate meetings into one window.

For a dependable setup, use two separate devices. A single device may let you switch between active meetings, but switching is not the same as actively participating in both. You may miss audio, lose track of which meeting has your microphone enabled, or encounter client and account limitations.
What if both meetings start at the same time?
On separate devices, open each invitation or calendar entry and select the intended meeting manually. Do not assume Teams will choose the correct meeting for you.
Microsoft’s documented automatic conflict-selection rule applies to Apple CarPlay: Teams joins the meeting that starts first. If both start at exactly the same time, it joins the meeting whose title comes first alphabetically. That rule should not be treated as a general rule for two meetings open on separate devices.
How to leave correctly
Leaving one meeting does not necessarily mean that every device leaves every meeting. Leave each separate meeting from its own device when you are finished.
If you joined the same meeting on multiple devices and want to end all of those sessions at once, open the Leave drop-down in the meeting window and select Leave on all my devices. On mobile, tap Leave, then tap Leave on all my devices.
Common problems and fixes
| Problem | Likely cause | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| The second device transfers the meeting instead of adding it | Transfer to this device was selected. | For the same meeting, return to the prompt and select Add this device. |
| There is loud echo | Both devices have speakers and microphones active. | Mute one device and use headphones on the other. |
| You joined the wrong meeting | The calendar entry or invitation was not checked. | Leave, verify the meeting title and organizer, then select the correct invitation. |
| The guest join option is missing | The meeting or tenant blocks anonymous access. | Use the required work/school account, email verification, or passcode. |
| The phone cannot find the meeting by ID | The ID or passcode is incorrect, or the app needs updating. | Use Calendar > More > Join with meeting ID, recheck the invitation, and update the Teams mobile app. |
| You are held in the lobby | The organizer has not admitted you or lobby rules apply. | Wait for admission or use the authorized account. After 30 minutes in the lobby, Teams removes you and you may try to rejoin. |
Important limitations
Microsoft supports the two-device workflow, but it does not publish a universal maximum of two active meetings across separate devices. Whether you can remain in both meetings also depends on your device resources, network connection, account permissions, organizer settings, and whether you need to speak or present.

How can I listen to two meetings without causing echo?
Mute the microphone on at least one device, use headphones or earbuds, and disable the camera on the meeting where video is not needed. Before speaking, verify the meeting title and microphone status.
Can I join both meetings from one computer?
Teams can display active meetings and let you switch or select a live meeting, but Microsoft does not document a single-client feature that mixes two separate meetings’ audio and video. Two devices are the clearer supported arrangement.
What happens if I join the same meeting on two devices?
Teams offers Add this device or Transfer to this device. It automatically turns off audio-related devices on the added device to help prevent echo.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: You can attend two separate Teams meetings at the same time by joining one on each device. The reliable method is to open each meeting independently, confirm the meeting title and account on both pre-join screens, and keep one or both microphones muted to prevent echo. Do not confuse this with adding a second device to the same meeting: that flow offers Add this device or Transfer to this device, and automatically disables audio on the added device.
