Not officially. Gran Turismo Sport has no Sony PC release. The RyGT fan project runs the PlayStation 4 executable as a Windows program, and 2026 reports show roughly 42–60 frames per second in races on much less powerful hardware than the showcase system.

An RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D provide enthusiast-level headroom, but the available reports do not verify a locked 4K/60 result on that exact configuration. RyGT remains unfinished, offline-only and dependent on game and firmware files supplied by the user.

What RyGT actually is

RyGT is an unofficial community project, not a Sony port. Its approach converts the PS4 executable into a Windows-running program and uses the project’s shadGT/Vulkan rendering layer. That is different from running a complete PS4 emulator in the conventional sense.

GenerationAmiga.com described the October 2026 build as playable, with race events, graphics settings and reported frame rates reaching 60 fps. The project package does not include Gran Turismo Sport itself. A user must provide a legally obtained, decrypted game dump and the required PS4 system modules.

What the performance reports show

Reported result Conditions and qualification
42–60 fps in races RyGT and technical reports from 2026; performance changes with the number of cars and scene complexity.
About 32–43 fps Outer Space’s experimental-renderer test on a rainy, 20-car Tokyo Expressway race in 2026.
13,600 shader pipelines in about 25 seconds One Outer Space report; this is a compilation measurement, not a frame-rate result.
4K at 60 fps GTPlanet’s 2020 report for Gran Turismo Sport on PS5/PS4 Pro; it is console context, not a RyGT PC benchmark.
36% faster pre-race loading GTPlanet’s 2020 PS5-versus-PS4 comparison; the figure does not predict Windows loading times.

Those figures establish that RyGT can be playable and can approach 60 fps in suitable scenes. They do not establish that every race, weather condition or camera view will hold 60 fps at native 4K. The showcase’s RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D should therefore be treated as hardware context rather than proof of a repeatable, independently verified benchmark.

What you need to run RyGT

  • A Windows PC with a Vulkan-capable graphics processor and current drivers.
  • A legally owned Gran Turismo Sport copy from which you can create the required decrypted PS4 dump.
  • The CUSA03220 game data updated to version 1.69.
  • PS4 system modules supplied from your own compatible firmware installation.
  • Enough storage for the game data, extracted files and shader cache.
  • A keyboard, gamepad or racing wheel supported through the project’s SDL controller layer. No particular wheel model has been validated by the published reports.

The exact hardware floor is not established by the available reports. The documented requirement is the correct software and firmware material, not ownership of an RTX 5090-class card.

Legal, practical setup path

  1. Prepare your own source files. Use a game copy and PS4 firmware that you own or are otherwise legally entitled to use in your jurisdiction. RyGT does not provide the game.
  2. Create the required dump. Follow the project’s current documentation for producing a decrypted CUSA03220 dump at update 1.69. Do not substitute an encrypted package or a different title ID.
  3. Supply the firmware modules. Point the RyGT installation at the PS4 system modules required by its build. Missing or mismatched modules can prevent startup.
  4. Install the Windows build. Extract the RyGT files to a location with write access so the program can create logs and shader data.
  5. Choose the renderer and resolution. Start with the recommended Vulkan/shadGT path, select the display resolution, and test native rendering before enabling upscaling or frame generation.
  6. Configure controls. Connect the controller or wheel before launching a race, then verify steering, throttle, brake and force-feedback mappings in the project’s input settings.
  7. Run a short practice session. Let initial shader work finish and check for missing textures, crashes or input latency before attempting a long championship event.

Frame generation and shader stutter

FSR 3.1 frame generation

RyGT can use FSR 3.1 frame generation to insert additional displayed frames. This can make motion look smoother, but generated frames are not equivalent to the game producing those frames natively. Reports warn of ghosting because the game does not provide the motion vectors the technique normally uses. Test native rendering first, then enable frame generation only if the visual artifacts and added latency are acceptable.

First-race hitching

Shader compilation can interrupt the opening part of a race. Precompilation and selectable compilation modes can reduce those pauses, but the initial run may still be less smooth than later sessions after the cache is populated.

What is included—and what is not

The 2026 build has reported race events, graphics options and offline play. Sony ended Gran Turismo Sport’s online services on 31 January 2024, so RyGT is not a route back to the original online racing service. Treat it as a way to run the available local game content on Windows, not as a supported replacement for network competition.

How the PC route compares with other ways to play

Option Official status Setup burden Performance expectation Online coverage
Play Gran Turismo Sport on PS4 or PS5 Official Lowest; install the console version Known console target; GTPlanet reported 4K/60 on PS5/PS4 Pro in 2020 Original service ended 31 January 2024
RyGT on Windows Unofficial fan project High; requires a decrypted CUSA03220 update 1.69 dump and PS4 modules Published reports range from about 42 to 60 fps, with lower results in demanding scenes Offline only
PCSX2 or RPCS3 for older Gran Turismo titles Emulation route for earlier games Varies by game, dump and emulator configuration Title- and hardware-dependent; not a documented GT Sport solution Depends on the individual game and emulator support
PS Remote Play from an owned PS5 Official streaming feature Requires a PS5, network connection and compatible client Limited by console output, network quality and latency rather than local PC rendering Uses whatever services the console game still supports

Is 4K at 60 fps realistic?

It is plausible in lighter races on a high-end PC, especially with an RTX 5090 and Ryzen 9 9950X3D, but the published evidence does not prove a universal lock. Car count, weather, track detail, shader state and renderer choice all affect the result. A responsible expectation is variable performance that can reach 60 fps, not a guaranteed 4K/60 mode.

Common problems and fixes

  • The program will not start: verify that the dump is decrypted, uses title ID CUSA03220, is updated to 1.69 and is paired with the required firmware modules.
  • Crashes or missing graphics: update the Vulkan driver, confirm that the selected renderer is supported, and test without frame generation.
  • Stutter at race start: allow shader compilation to complete, use precompilation where available, and keep the shader cache between runs.
  • Ghosting behind cars: disable FSR 3.1 frame generation and compare native or upscaled rendering.
  • Controls do not respond: connect the device before launch, check SDL detection and remap each axis in the input settings.
  • Expecting online races: RyGT cannot restore Sony’s discontinued GT Sport online service; use it for the project’s local content.
