Yes, but only for a specific part of household organization. In the supported Gemini mobile integration, Find Hub lets you save where a physical item was put, change that storage location, and ask Gemini to recall it later. You could record that a passport is in a desk drawer, move it to a document box, and ask where it is next week.
Find Hub is not documented as a chore board, recurring-task manager, family calendar, or shopping-list system. For those jobs, Google positions Gemini for Home as the conversational tool for reminders, calendar events, notes, lists, shopping-list ingredients, named timers, and meal planning. Google Home and Gemini device controls form a third layer for managing connected home devices, including devices shared with household members.
What Find Hub adds to Gemini
Google’s connected-app requirements table describes the Find Hub capability in Gemini this way: keep track of physical items, save new items, update their storage spots, and quickly recall their exact locations. The useful mental model is a household location memory, not a live chore system.

When you put an item somewhere you want to remember, tell Gemini what the item is and where you stored it. Examples include a passport in a desk drawer, spare keys in a bowl by the entryway, a school document in a labeled folder, or a toy in a particular storage bin. The important information is the item and its storage spot; the service can then use that saved record when you ask about it later.

Update a location
If the item moves, provide the new location rather than relying on the old record. A move from “the hall closet” to “the blue box on the top shelf” is the kind of update the documented workflow supports. This matters in a busy household: a remembered location is only useful while it matches reality.
Recall the location
Later, ask Gemini where the item was stored. Questions such as “Where are the spare keys?” or “Where did I put the passport?” fit the documented Find Hub use case. The answer is based on the location saved or most recently updated in the connected account; the documentation does not describe Find Hub as a general-purpose family task board.
What you need before Find Hub works in Gemini
Google’s requirements table lists a narrow set of eligibility conditions for this integration. Availability can change as Google rolls connected capabilities out, so a device that meets the conditions may still show different options at a particular time.
| Requirement | Documented condition |
|---|---|
| App and platform | Gemini mobile app on an Android device running Android 16 or later |
| Account | A personal Google Account |
| Countries and territories | All countries and territories where the Gemini mobile app is supported |
| Languages | All languages supported by the Gemini mobile app |
| Gemini mode | Gemini chat mode |
These conditions describe the Find Hub connection, not every Gemini feature. Gemini for Home and Google Home device controls can have their own availability and account behavior. If Find Hub does not appear, check the Android version, confirm that you are using the mobile app and chat mode, and make sure the signed-in account is personal rather than a work or school account. Rollout timing can also affect what you see.
How to use Find Hub for household items
The exact wording of Gemini’s controls can change, but the supported workflow has three actions: save, update, and recall. Use plain language and identify one item at a time.

- Open Gemini on a supported Android phone. Use the Gemini mobile app, with the required personal Google Account signed in, and start a chat.
- Save the first location. State the item and its storage spot, for example: “Remember that the spare house keys are in the ceramic bowl by the front door.”
- Confirm the location in your own household terms. Include details that distinguish one place from another, such as a drawer name, shelf, box color, or room. This reduces ambiguity when several similar items exist.
- Update the record whenever the item moves. Say that the item has a new storage location, then give the replacement spot. Treat the new statement as an update to the old one, not as a second unrelated reminder.
- Recall it when needed. Ask a direct question such as “Where did I put the spare house keys?” Gemini can return the stored location associated with that item.
Because this is a record of a storage spot, use a precise description rather than a vague one. “Somewhere in the kitchen” is less useful than “the labeled envelope in the second drawer beside the oven.” If your household changes the storage system, update the record at the same time.
What Find Hub does not manage
The published Find Hub description covers physical-item locations. It does not say that Find Hub assigns chores, creates recurring household tasks, maintains a family task board, or schedules appointments. It also does not establish a live map of every household object. A saved storage location should therefore be treated as information you recorded and can revise, not as proof that Gemini is detecting the object’s current position automatically.
The same distinction applies to Bluetooth trackers. Google’s materials establish the item-location use case but do not name a tracker brand or model or state that a physical tracker is required for the save-and-recall workflow. Do not assume that every Bluetooth tracker works with Google Find Hub. If you are considering a product described as a “Bluetooth item tracker compatible with Google Find Hub,” verify current Find Hub compatibility, Android requirements, country support, and availability before buying.
Which Google feature fits each household job?
Household organization becomes clearer when you separate item memory, scheduled information, and device control.
| Household need | Best-fitting Google capability | What the documented capability does |
|---|---|---|
| Remember where a physical belonging was stored | Gemini with Find Hub | Saves an item, updates its storage spot, and recalls the recorded location |
| Set a reminder or appointment | Gemini for Home | Creates and edits reminders and calendar events through natural language |
| Keep household information or lists | Gemini for Home | Creates and edits notes and lists |
| Build a shopping list | Gemini for Home | Adds recipe ingredients to a shopping list |
| Run a timed household activity | Gemini for Home | Sets named timers |
| Plan meals | Gemini for Home | Supports meal-planning requests |
| Operate connected home equipment | Google Home and Gemini controls | Controls and manages the same homes and devices available to the signed-in account in Google Home, including devices shared with household members |
The table is a division of labor, not a requirement to use separate conversations for every project. You can use Gemini as the conversational entry point, but the underlying capability determines whether the request concerns an item location, a reminder or list, or a connected device.

Using Gemini for Home for chores, schedules, and shopping
For a family’s recurring organization, Gemini for Home is the documented fit. Google says users can create and edit reminders, calendar events, notes, and lists by speaking naturally. Its examples include adding recipe ingredients to a shopping list, setting named timers, and planning meals.
Chores and recurring responsibilities
Use reminders for a specific responsibility or deadline rather than storing the responsibility as an item location. A request might identify the task, person or context, and time you want to remember it. The published Gemini for Home description does not specify a particular chore-board interface or guarantee assignment and tracking of completion, so do not treat a reminder as a shared workflow with automatic status reporting.
Shopping and meal preparation
When a recipe supplies several ingredients, Gemini for Home can add those ingredients to a shopping list. Meal-planning requests belong here as well. Find Hub should be reserved for remembering where the physical cookbook, specialty ingredient, or kitchen tool was stored; it is not the list that holds what the household needs to buy.
Timers and time-sensitive routines
Named timers are useful when the household needs to distinguish activities, such as a cooking timer from a medication or laundry timer. The documented feature is timer creation and naming; it is separate from Find Hub’s item-location records.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Where Google Home device control fits
Connected-device control is another separate layer. Google says Gemini can control and manage the same homes and devices as the Google Home app for the signed-in account, including devices shared with household members. That can make Gemini useful for requests involving the home’s connected equipment, but it does not turn Find Hub into a household task manager.

Google’s Chief Product Officer for Google Home & Nest, Anish Kattukaran, described Gemini for Home in a Google Blog statement published August 20, 2025: “It offers reliable, hands-free help and can manage complex tasks across all of your home devices, assisting every member of your household, as well as visitors and guests.” This statement concerns Gemini for Home and home-device assistance; it should not be read as a description of Find Hub’s item-location function.
Practical household workflows
Finding a misplaced document
When you file a passport or birth certificate, save the exact storage spot through Gemini with Find Hub. If you later move it to a travel folder, update the location immediately. At travel time, ask Gemini where the document was recorded. This workflow is useful precisely because the location is explicit and can be changed.
Combining an item reminder with a shopping list
Suppose you store a spare appliance part in a labeled garage box and need replacement supplies. Use Find Hub to remember the box location. Use Gemini for Home to add the supplies to a shopping list. Keeping those requests in their appropriate systems avoids confusing “where is it?” with “what do we need?”
Coordinating a meal
Ask Gemini for Home to help plan the meal, add ingredients to the shopping list, and set a named timer. If the serving dish is stored in a specific cabinet, save that physical location through Find Hub separately. The two records complement one another but are not the same feature.

- Find Hub is unavailable: verify Android 16 or later, the Gemini mobile app, Gemini chat mode, and a personal Google Account. Availability may still vary during rollout.
- The answer names an old place: update the item’s storage spot whenever it moves. The capability recalls the saved record; it cannot correct a move you did not report.
- A chore request is not handled as expected: use Gemini for Home’s reminder, calendar, notes, or list functions instead of framing the request as a Find Hub item lookup.
- A shared device is missing: check that the device is available to the signed-in account in Google Home and that household sharing is configured there. Find Hub’s documented requirement is a personal Google Account, while device sharing is described under Google Home controls.
- A tracker purchase is unclear: do not infer compatibility from the words “Bluetooth tracker.” Confirm that the specific product currently supports Google Find Hub in your country and with your Android setup.
A simple decision guide
- Ask whether the request is about the location of a physical object. If yes, use Gemini with Find Hub.
- Ask whether it is about a deadline, appointment, note, list, ingredient, timer, or meal plan. If yes, use Gemini for Home.
- Ask whether it requires operating a connected home device. If yes, use Google Home and Gemini controls for the signed-in home.
- Check account, Android version, app mode, language, and regional availability when a capability is missing.
- Keep saved item locations current, and verify tracker compatibility separately if you plan to add hardware.
Gemini can therefore help manage a household, but the result depends on choosing the matching capability. Find Hub supplies a memory for where belongings were put; Gemini for Home handles conversational household organization; and Google Home integration handles connected-device control. Treating those as distinct layers gives you a realistic picture of what Gemini can do today.
