Not for general-purpose airflow. Autodesk Support says that flow simulation is not currently available as a general Fusion study. Fusion does include an Electronics Cooling study that considers airflow inside an enclosure, and its Fluid Volume command can prepare fluid geometry—but that command does not solve the flow. For broader airflow or fluid-flow analysis, Autodesk points to Autodesk CFD.
What Fusion 360 can do with airflow
Fusion’s capabilities depend on the question you want answered. Its documented Electronics Cooling study addresses heat in an electronics enclosure; Fluid Volume prepares the air or liquid region around or inside a model for analysis elsewhere. Neither establishes that Fusion offers a general-purpose airflow solver.
Electronics Cooling study
Fusion’s Simulation Extension documentation describes an Electronics Cooling study that evaluates whether circuit-board components exceed their maximum allowable temperature, given electrical heat loads and airflow in the enclosure. It is the documented Fusion study that directly accounts for enclosure airflow. The described goal is component temperature, not a general external-flow result such as drag or a broad internal-flow result such as pressure drop.
The same documentation mentions that Fusion Insider Program members can try a new Fluid Path study. It does not specify the study’s scope or establish general availability, so this note should not be treated as confirmation of a released general CFD feature. Fluid Volume is geometry preparation, not simulation
The Fluid Volume command derives a fluid body from solid geometry. For an external case, that body represents the space around an object—for example, air around a vehicle or outdoor fixture. For an internal case, it represents fluid inside a component such as a pump or valve housing. Autodesk’s examples include wind-force and air-drag applications, but creating the volume alone does not calculate those results.
For an internal fluid volume, cap the openings first so the interior region is isolated. Autodesk’s Fluid Volume guidance describes the geometry-preparation workflow.

When Autodesk CFD is the better fit
For general airflow or fluid-flow analysis, Autodesk identifies Autodesk CFD as its dedicated product. Autodesk describes it as software for simulating three-dimensional fluid flow and heat transfer in air, gases, and liquids. Its listed applications and capabilities include pressure drop, flow distribution, heat transfer between solids and fluids, free-surface movement, motion, humidity and condensation, electronics cooling, data centers, machinery and valves, and HVAC design. These are vendor-described capabilities, not a guarantee of accuracy for a particular design.

Choose a workflow by the result you need

Before committing to a workflow, confirm that your access tier includes the study you need. Fusion studies are solved in the cloud; Autodesk says most require a token balance or an active Fusion Simulation Extension subscription. Access and terms can vary, so check your current account details rather than assuming a universal cost or entitlement. Autodesk’s Fusion simulation access information.

Use Fusion’s Electronics Cooling study when the task is enclosure cooling and component temperatures. Use Fluid Volume when you need to prepare fluid geometry, while recognizing it is not a solver. If the required answer is general airflow or fluid-flow behavior, Autodesk’s documented direction is Autodesk CFD. Autodesk Support’s February 26, 2026 answer puts the distinction plainly: “At the moment, flow simulation is not available for Fusion.” Autodesk Support’s answer.
