Yes. An AMD Radeon RX 560 can run many games, particularly older or less demanding titles at 1080p, but demanding games may require lower graphics settings or resolution. Results depend on the game, the exact card, its memory and clocks, and the rest of the PC; historical benchmark figures are examples, not guarantees for your system.
What the RX 560 can handle
The RX 560 is an older entry-level graphics card. AMD positioned it at launch as an efficient 1080p gaming option, but that 2017 description does not establish compatibility or smooth performance in games released since then. The most useful expectation is a range: lighter workloads can perform well at 1080p, while demanding games can call for lower settings or a reduced resolution.
Historical reviews illustrate that difference. Tech Advisor recorded over 60 fps in Alien: Isolation at 1080p Ultra on its overclocked Gigabyte RX 560 Gaming OC, but 23 fps in Deus Ex: Mankind Divided at the same resolution and preset on that card. The reviewer said 60 fps in the latter game required 720p Low; targeting 30 fps at 1080p meant reducing settings. These are results from one specific board and a 2017 test, not predictions for other RX 560 models or current games. Tech Advisor’s RX 560 review

Tom’s Hardware also tested an Asus ROG Strix RX 560 sample that was factory overclocked. Its results, like Tech Advisor’s, should be read as evidence of how a particular card performed in particular test conditions—not as one universal RX 560 frame rate. Tom’s Hardware’s RX 560 review

Why RX 560 models can perform differently
“RX 560” identifies a GPU family, not one identical board configuration. AMD’s specifications list 14 or 16 compute units, 896 or 1,024 stream processors, up to 4GB of GDDR5, and up to 2.6 TFLOPs. The listed maximums do not mean every partner card has the top configuration. AMD RX 560 specifications and support
Memory capacity is one difference: cards were sold with 2GB or 4GB. More VRAM can ease memory pressure in some games and settings, but it does not make an otherwise unplayable workload perform well. Board revisions can differ, too. In Tech Advisor’s review, a later Gigabyte version 2.0 4GB model omitted the 6-pin connector and had different clock specifications from the earlier card. That is a specific manufacturer’s example, not a rule for all RX 560 revisions.

Before relying on a benchmark or buying a card, identify the full manufacturer model and revision. Check its VRAM, clock specifications, dimensions, cooling design, and whether it needs an auxiliary PCIe power lead. Two cards bearing the RX 560 name may not be interchangeable in their power needs or physical fit.

Check power and fit before installation
AMD lists typical desktop board power of 60–80 W and a minimum recommended 450 W power supply. These are manufacturer-level specifications, not proof that a particular system’s PSU is suitable: the exact card and the rest of the PC matter. Some RX 560 boards require a 6-pin PCIe power connection and others do not. Check the card maker’s specification and the actual connectors available from your PSU. - Confirm the graphics card fits inside the case and does not conflict with other components.
- Match the card’s required PCIe power connector, if any, to a native lead from the PSU.
- Check the PSU maker’s guidance for the complete system rather than judging compatibility from the GPU name alone.
- For a used card, request the exact model and revision, clear photos of the card and power socket, evidence that it works, and a return policy.
What to check for a particular game
There is no reliable single FPS figure for every RX 560. Look for a benchmark of the exact game at your target resolution and settings, and note the tested card, CPU, and memory configuration. A result from an overclocked 4GB board may not represent a different revision or a 2GB model. Historical results can help set expectations, but they do not establish performance in a new release.
If performance falls short, try reducing the resolution or graphics preset, then adjust demanding options individually. Lowering texture quality may help when a 2GB card is constrained by video memory, while other settings can affect GPU workload differently. The best compromise depends on the game; no specific modern-game setting or frame rate is established by the historical examples above.

Is an RX 560 a good buy now?
That depends on the exact card’s condition, configuration, and local price compared with other options. Historical reviews compared RX 560 performance with the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti, but those 2017 comparisons do not establish today’s best-value choice. No current market-price or comprehensive modern benchmark data is available here, so a value verdict requires checking current local listings and benchmarks for the games you play.
