Can MX330 run GTA 5? It may run GTA V Legacy at reduced settings, but the available evidence does not support a reliable frame-rate promise for every MX330 laptop. GTA V Enhanced is a different case: its published minimum graphics tier is a GTX 1630 4 GB or Radeon RX 6400 4 GB, and the MX330 is not listed. Check which edition you plan to play before deciding whether your laptop is suitable.
Which GTA 5 PC edition do you mean?
On PC, “GTA 5” can refer to GTA V Legacy or GTA V Enhanced. Their published minimum graphics requirements differ substantially, so a yes-or-no answer without the edition is misleading. Rockstar’s store lists both PC editions and notes that current PC players can migrate Legacy progress to Enhanced: Rockstar Games Store: GTA V for PC.
GTA V Legacy: possible at reduced settings
Rockstar Support’s Legacy minimums include Windows 10 64-bit, an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, 4 GB of system memory, an NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT with 1 GB of video memory, and 125 GB of storage. An MX330 laptop may be able to run Legacy, especially with low graphics settings and a reduced resolution. That is a cautious recommendation based on the published minimum baseline, not a tested MX330 preset or a guarantee of smooth play.

GTA V Enhanced: do not assume compatibility
Steam lists a GTX 1630 with 4 GB of video memory or a Radeon RX 6400 with 4 GB as Enhanced’s minimum GPUs. Its listing also specifies Windows 10, an Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD FX-9590, 8 GB of RAM, and 105 GB of storage. The recommended GPUs are an RTX 3060 with 8 GB or Radeon RX 6600 XT with 8 GB; an SSD is required, and Steam warns that unlisted specifications may not be supported. The MX330 is not among the listed minimum GPUs, so treat Enhanced as unsupported unless Rockstar or the storefront confirms compatibility for your machine. Will GTA 5 run well on an MX330 laptop?
No dependable, reproducible MX330-specific frame-rate result is established here. A search-indexed 2020 video describes GTA V gameplay on an MSI Modern 15 with an MX330, but its indexed result does not provide measurements that can predict performance on another laptop. A GPU name alone cannot account for the laptop’s processor, memory configuration, power limits, cooling, resolution, or settings.

NVIDIA’s 2015 PC guide also cautions that performance changes with the scene. NVIDIA reported that its built-in benchmark could vary by about ±5 FPS between passes, and noted that the benchmark does not represent the most demanding action or forest scenes. The guide suggested halving benchmark results as a rough indication for the most intensive single-player moments and GTA Online sessions with many players. How to check your laptop before installing
- Identify the edition. Check whether you are installing Legacy or Enhanced; their minimum GPU tiers are not interchangeable.
- Check the whole system. Compare your laptop’s CPU, installed RAM, Windows version, available storage, and—in Enhanced’s case—SSD status with the relevant edition’s requirements.
- For Legacy, start conservatively. Use low graphics settings and a reduced resolution, then adjust based on actual play. This is a sensible starting point, not a benchmark-backed MX330 configuration.
- Judge demanding gameplay, not just a benchmark. Try the scenes and modes you care about. Heavy action, forests, or busy GTA Online sessions may perform worse than a built-in benchmark suggests.
What you can conclude
- GTA V Legacy is the more plausible edition for an MX330 laptop, but compatibility and playability depend on the rest of the system and chosen settings.
- GTA V Enhanced lists minimum GPUs above the MX330’s listed tier; do not count on it running as supported.
- No trustworthy MX330-specific FPS figure is available to promise a particular result. Test the exact laptop in the edition and settings you intend to use.
