The CAIS Summit 2026 AI programming treats artificial-intelligence growth as a two-layer investment question: where value accrues across the technology stack, and how investors finance the data centers, electricity, networks and other real assets required to scale it. The fifth annual summit is scheduled for October 12–15, 2026, at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.

What the CAIS Summit AI panel is about

The central session, titled “From Margin to Opportunity: Investing Across the AI Stack,” is scheduled to feature Robert F. Smith of Vista Equity Partners and Rodrigo Liang of SambaNova Systems, moderated by Bloomberg TV anchor Dani Burger. Its focus is the investable AI stack rather than a single chip or application category.

That framing matters because AI economics extend across several connected layers: computing hardware, data centers, networking, software platforms and the capital needed to build and operate them. A technology-company executive and a software-investment leader bring different perspectives on how businesses may capture value as adoption expands. The public agenda identifies the participants and subject, but does not establish what either speaker ultimately argued.

Why infrastructure is part of the AI investment thesis

AI systems require far more than processors. Training and serving models depend on specialized data-center capacity, reliable electricity generation, transmission and grid connections, cooling, high-speed networking and software that coordinates workloads. As compute demand rises, constraints in any one of those links can limit the entire system.

That physical buildout is the subject of a second session, “The Trillion Dollar Digital Infrastructure and Real Assets Opportunity: Powering the Global Economy.” Brandon Freiman of KKR, Mike Forman of Blackstone and Jessica Bailey of Nuveen are scheduled to appear, with Bloomberg TV anchor Romaine Bostick as moderator. The panel is designed to examine how large pools of private capital can finance data centers, energy supply, grid capacity and related infrastructure.

“Trillion dollar” is the session’s title, not an independently verified forecast in the public materials. It should be read as the scale of the opportunity being discussed, not as evidence of guaranteed returns or a recommendation to invest.

How the two sessions differ

Comparison AI stack session Digital infrastructure and real-assets session
Buildout layer AI software, platforms and technology businesses Data centers, power, grids, networking and other physical assets
Capital question Where economic value and margins may accrue across the stack How new capacity is financed, developed and owned
Participant mix Operating technology executive plus software-investment leader Executives from major infrastructure and real-asset investment managers
Practical relevance Portfolio exposure to AI companies and technology adoption Capacity, energy demand, infrastructure development and private-capital deployment

Who is expected to attend

CAIS positions the summit for independent financial advisors, alternative-asset managers and bank issuers. CAIS’s final lineup announcement says the event will convene more than 1,250 participants; an earlier event description cited more than 1,200. The larger figure is the later announced count.

The professional audience explains the agenda’s emphasis on both operating businesses and investable infrastructure. Advisors can use the discussions to understand potential portfolio exposures, while managers and issuers can assess financing needs, partnerships and demand for private-market vehicles.

What CAIS’s own growth figures indicate—and do not indicate

In an October 7, 2026, press release, CAIS reported a 53% year-over-year increase in transaction volume and a 55% increase in total platform assets during the first half of 2026. Those are CAIS platform metrics, not independent measurements of the AI-infrastructure market or proof that any panel strategy will outperform.

CAIS founder and chief executive Matt Brown said, “As AI and technology reshape our industry, the need for trusted relationships and in-person connectivity has only grown.” He described the summit as a forum for the independent-wealth and alternative-investment communities to learn, exchange ideas and build connections.

They do not provide a post-event transcript, recording, direct panelist remarks or independent validation of the “trillion-dollar” characterization. Anyone seeking the panelists’ actual views should check CAIS’s official event channels after October 15, 2026, and confirm whether a recording or transcript was released.
