Byepervisor Reborn is a developer-focused PS5 hypervisor exploit project whose repository lists firmware 13.60 and 13.20 as fully supported. It is not a finished jailbreak: the project says it does not include HEN or other patches, and its documented workflow assumes a kernel exploit chain and an ELF loader are already in place.
What Byepervisor Reborn does
The project describes itself as a PS5 hypervisor exploit for firmware 6.xx through 13.60. Its README says the exploit uses the console’s transition out of rest mode to reach a vulnerable state. During S3 resume, a startup_mp hypercall initializes the other processor cores while an insecure nested page table configuration is applied. The project says this sequence can be abused to run shellcode with read/write access to hypervisor address space, including VM Control Blocks. The project README, hosted by PS5Dev, attributes the initial finding to theflow0 and says others later investigated it with assistance from LLMs.
The README describes a post-resume state in which the kernel can be dumped and patched, execute-only memory is disabled, and writes are enabled. That is a low-level capability for further development, not a consumer feature by itself. The repository does not bundle HEN or other patches.

Why ordinary PS5 owners cannot simply install it
The developers state plainly that the release is intended for developers, not regular users. Its documented procedure assumes a kernel exploit chain has already reached an ELF loader. The user sends byepervisor.elf through that setup and follows console notifications; the payload relies on the loader to continue execution after the rest-mode resume.
In practical terms, the project is a component for people building and testing exploit chains, not a stand-alone application with an install button. It does not itself provide HEN, game-package support, Linux installation, or another ready-made consumer capability. Hypervisor access should not be taken as evidence that any of those features are included.

How the documented exploit path is set up
The README’s workflow depends on an existing exploit environment and the console’s rest-mode behavior. Its prerequisites are materially different from installing a typical homebrew app.
- Confirm the firmware status. The repository lists 13.60 and 13.20 as fully supported, 13.00 as untested, and does not provide 14.00 support. Check the project’s current documentation before relying on a status, since the project may change.
- Have a kernel exploit chain and ELF loader. The documented process presumes the chain has already reached an ELF loader; Byepervisor Reborn does not replace that prerequisite.
- Prepare the rest-mode resume path. The payload uses the rest-mode route. The README notes that users may need to set Supply Power to USB Ports to Always in the console’s rest-mode settings.
- Load the payload and follow notifications. The documented flow sends
byepervisor.elfto the loader and uses the console’s notifications as part of continuing after resume.
The project also handles a hardware distinction internally: regular PS5 and PS5 Pro models have different hypervisor-loader physical address ranges. The source checks the main SoC ID and selects the corresponding range. That model-specific handling is not the same as a claim that every firmware and model combination is supported.

How strong are the project’s stability claims?
The README calls the exploit “99.9% stable,” but the reviewed project material gives no test sample, methodology, or independent validation for that number. Treat it as the developers’ own estimate, not a measured reliability guarantee. The repository is useful evidence of what the project claims and documents; it does not establish future end-user capabilities or independently verify the exploit’s performance.
