Business email and GoDaddy Email both provide domain-based business email, but their plans are built around different trade-offs. The featured prices for one service require a 48-month upfront commitment; GoDaddy’s US offers pair a first-year price with Microsoft 365 options that can add Office apps, Teams, and OneDrive. Compare the full term cost, renewal price, mailbox storage, and whether you need those extra apps before choosing.
What differs between business email and GoDaddy Email?
The main difference is the plan structure. The displayed offer for one service focuses on email mailboxes at graduated storage levels. GoDaddy sells email through Microsoft 365, from email-only plans to tiers that include online or desktop Office apps and collaboration tools.
The prices below are provider-displayed offers, not a like-for-like independent test. The comparison page for the email service is dated June 1, 2026, and its rates require 48 months billed upfront. GoDaddy’s figures are displayed US prices for the first one-year term, with auto-renew pricing applying. Availability and checkout totals can vary by country and change over time.

They do not represent equivalent commitments.

How much mailbox storage and how many aliases do the plans include?
| Plan | Email storage per mailbox | Aliases and forwarding |
|---|---|---|
| Starter | 5 GB | 5 aliases; 5 forwarding rules |
| Standard | 20 GB | 10 aliases; 20 forwarding rules |
| Premium | 50 GB | 30 aliases; 50 forwarding rules |
| GoDaddy Email Essentials | 10 GB | Up to 300 aliases across GoDaddy’s listed offerings; confirm the allowance for the selected SKU |
| GoDaddy Email Plus with Security | 50 GB | Up to 300 aliases across GoDaddy’s listed offerings; confirm the allowance for the selected SKU |
| GoDaddy Secure Online Essentials | 50 GB on the US product page; GoDaddy help documentation describes 100 GB for the corresponding Online Business Essentials tier in a rollout | Up to 300 aliases across GoDaddy’s listed offerings; confirm the allowance for the selected SKU |
| GoDaddy Secure Business Professional | 50 GB on the US product page; GoDaddy help documentation describes 100 GB for the corresponding Business Professional tier in a rollout | Up to 300 aliases across GoDaddy’s listed offerings; confirm the allowance for the selected SKU |
The email service’s capacities and allowances come from its June 1, 2026 comparison page. GoDaddy lists the product-page capacities, shared calendars, device sync, and up to 300 aliases on its US email page. Its plan help page says Online Business Essentials, Business Professional, and Premium Security plans receive 100 GB instead of the original 50 GB as of July 10, with gradual rollout to existing plans. Because GoDaddy’s product and help pages use different plan names and storage figures, confirm the exact SKU and mailbox capacity before purchase.
Count mailboxes, not just addresses: an alias is an additional address associated with a mailbox, while a mailbox is an account with its own storage and user access. If several people need separate logins and inboxes, budget for the required mailboxes rather than assuming aliases replace users.

GoDaddy’s email-only tiers are the closer comparison for someone who primarily needs branded email. Its higher tiers may be useful if your team will use the included Microsoft tools:
- Email Essentials: email with 10 GB of storage on the US product page.
- Email Plus with Security: 50 GB of email storage on the US product page.
- Secure Online Essentials: 50 GB on the product page, with web and mobile Microsoft 365 apps and Teams. GoDaddy’s help documentation describes 100 GB for the corresponding Online Business Essentials plan as part of a storage rollout.
- Secure Business Professional: 50 GB on the product page and desktop Office apps installable on up to five devices. GoDaddy’s help documentation describes 100 GB for the corresponding Business Professional plan in the rollout.
GoDaddy’s help documentation also associates 1 TB of OneDrive storage and online Office apps and Teams with Online Business Essentials. Match those inclusions to the exact plan name and checkout listing; names and storage details differ between the product and help pages. The bundle is most relevant when those applications or collaboration features replace tools you would otherwise need to obtain separately.
What should you check for security, migration, and day-to-day email?
Security and deliverability
The email service’s comparison page lists spam and virus protection and support for email authentication. GoDaddy lists security offerings, including Email Plus with Security, and optional Email Backup and Email Archiving add-ons. Those feature descriptions do not establish comparative deliverability or guarantee that messages will avoid spam folders. GoDaddy’s Premium Security tier is described in its help documentation as including archiving; verify the selected SKU and add-on terms.
Rank #4
Migration and email apps
The email service says it is separate from web hosting and can be used with a domain hosted elsewhere. Its FAQ describes an Email Import migration tool and compatibility with common clients such as Gmail, Outlook, and Apple Mail. Those statements do not guarantee that every mailbox, calendar, contact, rule, or historical message will migrate cleanly. Before switching, identify which data you need to move and confirm the migration method for your current provider and account setup.

How to choose between them
- Choose based on the full term bill: the low monthly equivalents for one service require four years paid upfront, while GoDaddy’s listed US rates cover the first year and renew at an amount not stated on the product page.
- Choose based on mailbox size: compare each mailbox’s storage against current and expected usage, and verify GoDaddy’s exact plan capacity because its product and help pages differ.
- Choose based on software needs: GoDaddy’s higher Microsoft 365 tiers may justify their price if you need Office apps, Teams, or OneDrive; otherwise, compare email-only tiers with the other service’s mailbox plans.
- Choose based on migration requirements: verify how messages and any other data you depend on will transfer, and test the selected email client with the intended setup.
Neither provider is universally cheaper or better on the available figures: the terms, bundles, market, and plan labels are not identical. Review the checkout details for your location, the number of users, renewal pricing, and the precise features attached to the SKU before committing.
