The Bugaboo Dragonfly is a compact city stroller with a one-hand, self-standing fold and either a seat-only or bassinet-and-seat setup. Its strongest fit is a caregiver who values a fold that can stay assembled and wants a newborn option in the same stroller system. The trade-offs to weigh are its carry weight, configuration-dependent dimensions, and the need to verify local newborn limits and exact car-seat compatibility.
What the Dragonfly includes—and what “from birth” means
Bugaboo sells the Dragonfly in seat-only and 2-in-1 bassinet-and-seat configurations. The seat-only listing is not the same newborn setup as the 2-in-1 package: if you need a bassinet for early outings, confirm that the selected package includes it rather than assuming it comes with every Dragonfly.
Bugaboo’s US 2-in-1 listing describes use from birth to approximately four years and a 50 lb maximum child weight. That is not a universal limit for every configuration or market. A regional EMEA/Israel warning booklet specifies a bassinet limit of 9 kg or six months and a 15 kg seat limit when parent-facing. Follow the manual and labels for the exact model and market you buy, including its bassinet and seat limits. Bugaboo US Dragonfly 2-in-1 listing · Bugaboo regional warning booklet
How compact is the fold?
Bugaboo describes a one-hand fold that stands on its own and can be made with the seat or bassinet attached. That may simplify a transition into a car or a small storage space, but “compact” does not mean weightless or necessarily easy to carry up stairs.

The US 2-in-1 product page lists these one-piece folded dimensions by configuration:
| Configuration | Folded dimensions | Source |
|---|---|---|
| With seat | 14.2 × 20.5 × 35.4 in | Bugaboo US 2-in-1 listing |
| With bassinet | 12.6 × 20.5 × 35.4 in | Bugaboo US 2-in-1 listing |
These are manufacturer-published specifications, not independent measurements. Check the current page for your exact bundle before measuring a closet, car trunk, or transit storage area; Bugaboo’s product materials have shown slightly different dimension figures in different contexts. Also verify the folded height and width against the actual space you have.

Can you use an infant car seat?
Bugaboo says car-seat adapters are needed for car-seat use, and its US materials show a Turtle Air by Nuna pairing. That example does not establish a complete or current compatibility list. Before buying, confirm that your exact infant car-seat model and the correct adapter are approved for the Dragonfly version and market you have. Do not rely on a similar-looking seat, a different stroller generation, or a compatibility list for another country.

Who should consider the Dragonfly?
- It may suit you if you want a city-oriented stroller with a fold Bugaboo says can stand on its own with the seat or bassinet attached, and you have confirmed that the selected configuration fits your newborn plans.
- Think carefully before choosing it if carrying weight matters more than the folded footprint, if your storage space has strict dimensions, or if you depend on a specific infant car seat and have not verified the adapter pairing.
- Do not buy on a broad age claim alone. Confirm the local manual’s limits for the exact seat and bassinet configuration, then compare those limits with your child’s needs.
