BT Wi-Fi discs are not automatically free with every broadband plan. They are included with an eligible Complete Wi-Fi service or package: BT supplies one disc and may provide up to two more at no extra charge if its eligibility process finds they are needed. If you buy a disc separately, BT lists one for £100.
When are BT Wi-Fi discs free?
The included discs come with BT Complete Wi-Fi or an eligible package, not with every BT broadband plan. BT says a Complete Wi-Fi customer receives one disc initially. If coverage still needs improvement, you can use BT’s troubleshooter or contact an adviser to ask about up to two additional discs; extra discs depend on BT’s assessment and are not an automatic entitlement. See BT’s Complete Wi-Fi help page and its Complete Wi-Fi service page.
How much does a BT Wi-Fi disc cost?
For customers buying equipment outright, BT’s accessories listing prices standalone Complete Wi-Fi discs at £100 each: £200 for two or £300 for three, plus £9.99 delivery as shown on the listing. Prices and availability can change, so check BT’s live accessories listing before ordering.

BT’s Halo 3+ page uses £10 per month as an illustrative Complete Wi-Fi cost in a two-year package-value calculation. That is a comparison figure, not a universal current add-on price. Check your own offer with BT rather than treating it as a quote for every customer: BT Halo 3+.

Is a standalone disc compatible with your setup?
A BT Complete Wi-Fi disc works only with Smart Hub 2. BT’s help page states that the discs “will only work with the new Smart Hub 2.” Check your hub model before buying; a standalone disc is not a general-purpose extender for any router.
Also distinguish Complete Wi-Fi from BT Whole Home Wi-Fi. They are separate product families, and BT says they do not work together. Whole Home Wi-Fi creates a separate network and can be used regardless of broadband provider. See BT’s Whole Home Wi-Fi information.

Do you have to return discs supplied by BT?
Discs loaned with Complete Wi-Fi remain BT’s property. BT’s Consumer Price Guide says to return them within 60 days of ending the service and lists a £30 charge for each disc not returned. However, BT’s help page gives a different deadline of 30 days. Because the official instructions conflict, follow the return deadline BT gives you when you cancel and confirm it with BT if unclear. The tariff and help information are available in BT’s Consumer Price Guide and the Complete Wi-Fi help page.
What does BT’s coverage guarantee cover?
BT advertises a one-off £100 bill credit if reliable coverage is not achieved after the Complete Wi-Fi process. The guarantee is limited: BT’s help page says it applies to the main dwelling, not outbuildings, gardens or sheds. BT’s broadband page also says the Smart Hub must be connected to fixed broadband and the guarantee does not cover broadband faults. Check the current terms and your eligibility on BT’s Complete Wi-Fi page before relying on the guarantee.

How to decide between an included disc and buying one
- Check eligibility first: If you have Complete Wi-Fi, ask BT whether additional discs are appropriate before paying for one.
- Confirm total service cost: An included disc is supplied as part of a service or package, so compare the full offer and contract cost rather than assuming the equipment has no associated cost.
- Check compatibility: A standalone Complete Wi-Fi disc requires Smart Hub 2.
- Account for ownership: Service-loaned discs must be returned under BT’s instructions; separately purchased discs are listed for sale outright.
- Consider where coverage is needed: The advertised guarantee does not cover gardens, sheds or other outbuildings.
