Brotato: Primal Dread launches on PC on November 2, 2026. Console and mobile editions are planned for early 2027, but no exact date has been announced for PlayStation, Xbox, Switch, iOS or Android. The expansion also requires the base game on Steam, so it is not a standalone purchase on PC.
Release dates by platform
The October 8, 2026 official Brotato announcement states: “BROTATO: PRIMAL DREAD DLC is coming on November 2nd.” That date applies to the PC release. Steam’s product metadata still displays a general 2026 window, but the dated announcement is the more specific timing for the computer version.
| Platform | Planned timing | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| PC via Steam | November 2, 2026 | Exact launch date announced; requires the Steam base game |
| PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2 | Early 2027 | No exact day announced |
| PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch | Early 2027 | No exact day announced |
| iOS and Android | Early 2027 | No exact day announced |
“Early 2027” is the complete published window for consoles and mobile at present. It should not be read as a simultaneous release across every listed device, because no platform-specific days have been given.
Why mobile players have to wait
The staggered schedule is confirmed, but the available announcements do not give a developer-stated reason for it. There is no published explanation attributing the delay to certification, porting work, optimization or any other technical cause. Until the developer provides one, those explanations remain speculation.
#1 Best Overall
- 【Strong Adsorption】The inspiration of the silicone phone suction case comes from the adhesive force of the octopus. Each suction cup phone mount is 3.15 inches long and 2.17 inches wide, with 24 independent suction cups providing a stronger and more stable suction force, so you don't have to worry about your phone falling during use.
- 【Back of Phone Suction Grip】Remove the adhesive film on the phone suction cup and stick it on the phone case. You can then fix the phone on any smooth surface, which is very convenient. (The phone suction cup cannot be removed and reused after being attached to the phone case. It is recommended to attach it to a regular phone case, not a valuable one.)
- 【Widely Used】Our non-slip silicone phone sticky grip mount attaches to almost any flat phone case and make it compatible with common mobile phones such as iPhone and Android. You can shoot, watch videos or video calls in the kitchen, gym, dance studio, bathroom and other places.
- 【Capture the Wonderful Picture】Whether you are a TikTok creator or just like to share videos and photos, this phone suction cup can help you hands-free capture wonderful videos and photos for sharing with friends.
- 【Note】You can fix the phone suction cup on a smooth surface such as a mirror or glass. If necessary, wipe the suction cup with a damp cloth to obtain stronger suction. Before releasing your hand, make sure the phone is firmly fixed. (Not applicable to rough walls, wooden surfaces, and other uneven surfaces)
For mobile players, the practical result is simple: the PC version arrives in November 2026, while the iOS and Android versions remain targeted for early 2027. Store listings or a later announcement will be needed to establish an exact mobile day.
What Primal Dread adds
Primal Dread expands Brotato with a new jungle map and a full run of new content rather than only a cosmetic update. The announced additions include:
Rank #2
- SUPERIOR COMFORT — Unlike traditional circular ear buds, the design of EarPods is defined by the geometry of the ear. Which makes them more comfortable for more people than any other ear bud–style headphones.
- HIGH-QUALITY AUDIO — The speakers inside EarPods have been engineered to maximize sound output and minimize sound loss, which means you get high-quality audio.
- BUILT-IN REMOTE — EarPods with USB-C plug also include a built-in remote that lets you adjust the volume, control the playback of music and video, and answer or end calls with a pinch of the cord.
- COMPATIBILITY — Works with all devices that have a USB-C port.
- INTEGRATED MICROPHONE — A built-in microphone precisely captures your voice while you’re on the phone, taking a FaceTime call, or summoning Siri — so you’re always heard loud and clear.
- A new map containing 20 waves of enemies, elites and bosses.
- New playable characters.
- New weapons, items and pets.
- The Evolution stat and its associated mechanics.
- New music tracks.
- New achievements.
The 20-wave structure gives the expansion a distinct progression path, but the announcement does not publish detailed balance values, unlock requirements or a complete catalog of the new equipment.
How the Evolution stat works
Evolution is the expansion’s new stat and branches into two directions: Mecha and Mutation. The two paths change the bonuses you pursue and the kind of dinosaur enemies you encounter.

- Compatibility: Works with all phones, tablets, and Kindles. Sticks best to smooth, hard plastic cases and may not adhere to silicone or textured cases. Easily swap your PopTop to change up your style.
- Black PopSockets: Simple, refined, and endlessly versatile. A timeless essential for any phone.
- Travel Must-Have for People On the Go: A must-have travel accessory for flights, flying, airports, air travel, airplanes, planes, international trips, cruises, and long travel days. Key gadget for your airport haul, travel accessories and must-haves.
Mecha
The Mecha path reinforces weapons and adds statistics to support that approach. It also produces mecha dinosaurs, making the enemy roster reflect the technological branch of the system.
Mutation
Mutation multiplies item effects instead of focusing on weapon reinforcement. Its enemies include mutant dinosaurs capable of acid attacks, adding a different threat profile to runs.

The available descriptions establish the broad identities of both paths, but not every numerical multiplier, upgrade choice or interaction. Those details may be clarified in the game or in later developer notes.

Yes. On PC, Steam identifies Primal Dread as downloadable content that requires Brotato. You must own the base game on Steam to use the expansion; buying the DLC alone does not provide the underlying game.

What to expect next
The next meaningful update for mobile and console players will be an exact launch date, not a change to the currently announced window. Until then, November 2, 2026 is the date to watch for PC players, while everyone using iOS, Android or a console should plan around an early-2027 release with timing still to be confirmed.
