Nvidia is the stronger conditional buy for investors seeking the larger reported data-center business and the lower forward P/E in two October 2026 snapshots. Broadcom is a credible alternative for investors who want exposure to custom AI accelerators and networking, where its reported revenue growth was faster in its latest quarter. The companies’ revenue measures cover different things, however, so the figures do not establish that one has a larger share of AI-chip sales or that either stock suits every investor.

What Broadcom and Nvidia are selling into the AI buildout

Broadcom and Nvidia both benefit from rising demand for AI computing, but their reported business categories reflect different parts of that opportunity. Broadcom reported AI semiconductor revenue, driven by custom AI accelerators and networking. Nvidia reported Data Center revenue, a broader category within its data-center platform rather than a tally of GPU sales alone.

The periods also differ: Broadcom’s latest reviewed results cover fiscal Q3 2026, ended August 2, 2026; Nvidia’s cover fiscal Q2 2027, ended July 26, 2026. Keep both distinctions in mind when comparing the numbers.

Growth and scale: Broadcom grew faster, Nvidia reported more revenue

Company and reported measure Latest reported quarter Year-over-year growth Sequential growth Company outlook
Broadcom AI semiconductor revenue $16.7 billion, fiscal Q3 2026 221% 54% $21.7 billion in AI semiconductor revenue forecast for fiscal Q4 2026
Nvidia Data Center revenue $89.0 billion, fiscal Q2 2027 117% Not stated in the cited release $108.0 billion in total revenue, plus or minus 2%, forecast for fiscal Q3 2027

These company-reported figures and outlooks come from Broadcom’s fiscal Q3 2026 results and Nvidia’s fiscal Q2 2027 results. Nvidia also reported $96.2 billion in total revenue for that quarter. Its $108.0 billion outlook is for total revenue, not a Data Center-only forecast; Broadcom’s $21.7 billion outlook is specifically for AI semiconductor revenue.

  • AI Performance: 767 AI TOPS
  • OC mode: 2632 MHz (OC mode)/ 2602 MHz (Default mode)
  • Powered by the NVIDIA Blackwell architecture and DLSS 4
  • Axial-tech fan design features a smaller fan hub that facilitates longer blades and a barrier ring that increases downward air pressure
  • A 2.5-slot design maximizes compatibility and cooling efficiency for superior performance in small chassis

Broadcom’s growth rate is striking, while Nvidia’s reported Data Center revenue is much larger in absolute dollars. Because one figure is a focused AI-semiconductor category and the other covers a broader data-center business, neither a direct revenue multiple nor a market-share conclusion follows from this comparison.

Valuation: Nvidia has the lower forward P/E in two snapshots

Provider and snapshot date Broadcom (AVGO) forward P/E Nvidia (NVDA) forward P/E
BriMindInvest, October 13, 2026 18.67 14.21
AllInvestView, October 12, 2026 18.64 15.14

Both third-party snapshots put Nvidia’s forward P/E below Broadcom’s, but the providers do not show identical figures. Forward P/E divides a share price by forecast earnings; estimates can change, and providers may use different inputs or methods. These point-in-time figures are not company-reported facts, and a lower multiple by itself does not prove a stock is undervalued.

Risks that can change the Nvidia thesis

Nvidia’s latest cited SEC filing identifies practical and commercial constraints on deploying data-center infrastructure. Its discussion includes the need for land, power, buildings or “shell” capacity, and capital; customer concentration; and China-related export restrictions and inventory charges. These factors can affect the timing of deployments and the company’s results, even when demand for computing is strong. See Nvidia’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended July 26, 2026 for the company’s risk disclosures.

Those disclosures do not establish that a particular disruption will occur, but they are relevant when evaluating how much of Nvidia’s growth depends on infrastructure being available and customers continuing to invest. Broadcom’s reported custom-accelerator and networking growth offers a different route into AI infrastructure demand; the figures here do not support treating that business as risk-free or as a direct substitute for Nvidia’s platform.

  • Military-grade components deliver rock-solid power and longer lifespan for ultimate durability. Compatibility: 348mm (13.7") length, 3.6 slots, 4.3 lbs. Confirm case clearance and slot spacing. GPU bracket included.
  • Protective PCB coating helps protect against short circuits caused by moisture, dust, or debris
  • 3.6-slot design with massive fin array optimized for airflow from three Axial-tech fans
  • Phase-change GPU thermal pad helps ensure optimal thermal performance and longevity, outlasting traditional thermal paste for graphics cards under heavy loads

Which stock may fit your investment case?

  • Nvidia may fit better if your priority is the larger reported Data Center business and the lower forward P/E in the cited October snapshots, and you are comfortable with the deployment, concentration, and export-related risks described in its filing.
  • Broadcom may fit better if your thesis centers on the expansion of custom AI accelerators and networking, and you give weight to its rapid growth in reported AI semiconductor revenue. Its growth rate should not be read as proof that its AI business is larger than Nvidia’s.
  • Neither comparison settles suitability. Your time horizon, tolerance for volatility and concentration, and view of how long AI infrastructure spending will continue matter. The cited figures do not supply a recommendation tailored to your finances.

Verdict: Nvidia is the better buy on these measures, but not the only AI bet

For a reader choosing between the two on the evidence available in these results and valuation snapshots, Nvidia has the edge: it reported a substantially larger Data Center business and had the lower forward P/E in both dated comparisons. Broadcom remains a distinct way to invest in the AI buildout, with unusually fast growth in its own reported AI semiconductor category and a specific custom-accelerator and networking thesis. The case for either stock depends on which exposure and risks you prefer—not on assuming the companies’ revenue figures are interchangeable.
