Colorlib describes it as plain HTML and CSS with no JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap files, or plugins; its listing says it can be used on its own or in Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects. The listing specifies a 210 KB download, a September 2026 release, and a CC BY 3.0 license. Check Colorlib’s listing and license terms before reusing it.
What Breadcrumb V10 includes
Colorlib presents V10 as a breadcrumb example for a recipe page. Its visible trail is paired with a BreadcrumbList in the page head; Colorlib says each visible level has a corresponding ListItem with the same name, position, and URL. The listing also describes an underline animation on hover and keyboard focus, arrow separators hidden from screen readers using CSS alternative text, and a collapsible panel for viewing structured data. These are Colorlib’s descriptions of the template.
The listing identifies Aigars Silkalns as author, gives September 2026 as the release month, states a CC BY 3.0 license, and lists the download at 210 KB. Consult the license terms on the Colorlib template page for reuse conditions rather than assuming what a particular use permits.

Colorlib says the example can be used standalone or in Bootstrap 4, 5, or 6 projects and will look the same. Because the listing says the download contains no Bootstrap files, a Bootstrap project should not be assumed to supply V10’s own markup or styles automatically.

How to use the template in a Bootstrap project
Bootstrap describes breadcrumbs as a way to show a page’s position in a navigational hierarchy. Its standard pattern places an ordered list inside a navigation landmark labeled “breadcrumb,” uses breadcrumb-item classes for the levels, and marks the current page with aria-current="page". Bootstrap also allows an unordered list. See the Bootstrap 5.3 breadcrumb documentation for the framework’s markup and styling options.
- Choose the integration style. Use V10’s HTML and CSS independently for a standalone implementation, or adapt its appearance to a project’s existing Bootstrap styles. Colorlib describes the template as usable in either arrangement.
- Keep the trail meaningful. Make each ancestor link lead to its actual parent location, and identify the current page as the final item. For Bootstrap markup, use a labeled
<nav>, an ordered list, andaria-current="page"on that final item. - Keep structured data aligned if you retain it. V10 is described as pairing each visible level with a matching BreadcrumbList ListItem. When adapting the trail, update the data’s names, positions, and URLs to match the visible hierarchy rather than leaving the recipe example’s values in place.
- Review the license before publishing. Colorlib lists the template as CC BY 3.0; use the linked license information to determine the applicable attribution and reuse terms.
How do I change the Bootstrap breadcrumb divider?
Bootstrap adds separators with CSS rather than requiring separator characters in each list item. Its v5.3 documentation supports changing the divider through the --bs-breadcrumb-divider CSS custom property or the Sass $breadcrumb-divider variable. For right-to-left layouts, Sass also documents $breadcrumb-divider-flipped. If the divider value is a string such as >, Bootstrap’s Sass documentation calls for the quote() function; it also documents an embedded SVG as an alternative. These are Bootstrap styling options, not a claim that V10 includes Bootstrap’s bundled styles. If you use V10’s own CSS, adjust its separator styling according to that implementation; if you want Bootstrap’s documented divider behavior, use the Bootstrap breadcrumb styles and customize their divider property or Sass variable.

The W3C WAI-ARIA Authoring Practices Guide (APG) example labels the navigation landmark “Breadcrumb,” uses an ordered list for the links, and adds separators with CSS. Its rationale is that visual separator characters can create redundant announcements when the trail is already identified semantically. The APG cautions that its example is illustrative, may have support gaps in some browser and assistive-technology combinations, and should be tested before production use. Review the W3C breadcrumb example and test your own implementation with the assistive technologies your audience uses; a particular snippet alone does not guarantee accessibility.

When to keep the structured data
V10’s distinguishing feature is the pairing of a visible breadcrumb trail with corresponding BreadcrumbList data. Keep both only if you can maintain the same hierarchy in each: every level’s name, position, and URL in the structured data should correspond to its visible counterpart. If your page does not need the recipe example’s structured data, you can adapt the visible navigation separately rather than preserving mismatched data.
