To adjust bass on a Bose SoundLink, first identify the speaker’s exact model and generation. Bose documents Adjustable EQ in the Bose app for the SoundLink Micro (2nd Gen) and SoundLink Plus; Bose also lists the SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) and SoundLink Max as Bose app-compatible, and documents EQ for the Max. Older SoundLink models listed for Bose Connect are not automatically confirmed to have a bass control.
Check your SoundLink model before looking for an EQ control
“Bose SoundLink” covers multiple speakers with different app support. Check the model name and generation printed on the speaker or shown in the app. That detail determines which Bose app to try and whether Bose documents an adjustable bass setting.

Bose’s app compatibility page lists the Flex (2nd Gen) and Max among supported speakers: Bose app compatibility. Bose’s published information does not establish one universal SoundLink menu path or EQ slider range for all these models.

Adjust bass in the Bose app on a supported model
- Install or open the Bose app and connect or add your SoundLink speaker.
- Open the speaker’s controls and look for its EQ feature.
- Adjust bass to taste. The exact control labels and available range can vary; Bose’s published pages do not provide a SoundLink-specific, screen-by-screen sequence.
If the app layout differs or you cannot find EQ, check the current support information for your exact model rather than following instructions for Bose headphones or soundbars.

What to do if you have an older SoundLink
Bose lists SoundLink Color II, Flex, Micro, Revolve, Revolve+, Revolve II, and Revolve+ II as compatible with Bose Connect. That compatibility information describes app support, but does not confirm that each speaker has bass EQ. Bose Connect compatibility information
- Open the support page for your precise model to check its available controls.
- If Bose does not document an EQ setting for it, check whether your connected phone or music player offers its own equalizer.
- Do not assume that Bose Connect compatibility means the app includes a bass slider.
Why your app may not match an online walkthrough
SoundLink controls depend on the model and generation, and Bose’s official product pages reviewed here do not give a universal tap-by-tap route or numeric EQ limits. A walkthrough for a different SoundLink generation—or for another Bose product family—may describe controls your speaker does not have. Use the model name shown on your device and its current Bose support information to resolve differences.
