The Bose QuietComfort SC is an over-ear noise-cancelling headphone with Quiet and Aware listening modes, app controls and a soft carry case. Bose claims up to 24 hours of playback with noise cancelling enabled, but that is a manufacturer estimate—not an independent runtime result. A key buying caveat: the available coverage does not establish exact-SC test results for sound, comfort or noise cancellation, so judge the model by its current price, seller and return policy rather than assuming results for another QuietComfort model apply.
What is the QuietComfort SC?
Bose’s US product page presents the QuietComfort SC as an over-ear noise-cancelling headphone. Bose’s FAQ calls SC a successor to the QC45. What Hi-Fi? describes it as essentially the standard QuietComfort model, with a soft carry case instead of a hard one, while also stating that it had not technically reviewed the SC itself. These descriptions give useful family and bundle context, but do not establish that every revision, specification or regional package is identical. Check the exact model and included accessories on the listing for your market.
Bose’s US product page is the primary source for the manufacturer’s feature and package claims. Independent coverage of the QC45 or standard QuietComfort can’t substitute for an exact-SC test.

Noise control and listening modes
Bose advertises Quiet Mode for noise cancelling, Aware Mode for hearing more of your surroundings, and custom modes created in the Bose app. The app also offers adjustable bass, midrange and treble. These are manufacturer-described features; the available evidence does not establish how effectively the SC cancels noise or how it sounds in independent testing.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Bluetooth and multipoint
Bose says the headphones can connect to two mobile devices at once. Its FAQ describes switching behavior when a call comes in on one device while audio is playing on another. Bose lists Bluetooth range up to 30 ft (9 m); obstacles and interference can reduce the actual range. Treat both as manufacturer specifications, not guaranteed results in every room or setup.
How long does the battery last?
Bose claims up to 24 hours of playback with noise cancelling on. It also says a 15-minute quick charge can provide up to four hours of play time, and that a full charge can take up to two hours. These are Bose’s stated figures, not independent measurements of the SC. Actual use can differ, and the available evidence does not establish a measured SC runtime.

Can you use the headphones when the battery runs out?
Yes. Bose says the SC can continue playing in passive mode after the battery is depleted. However, active noise cancellation and Active EQ will not work without power. The included audio cable therefore supports wired listening, but it does not preserve ANC when the battery is dead.
What comes in the box?
Bose’s US product page lists these items:
- QuietComfort SC headphones
- Soft carry case
- 3.5 mm to 2.5 mm audio cable
- USB charging cables
- Safety documentation
What Hi-Fi? identifies the soft rather than hard carry case as the bundle distinction from the standard QuietComfort model. Confirm the package contents on the specific regional or retailer listing before ordering, since the US page is not proof of every market’s bundle.

QuietComfort SC vs. QC45: what is the difference?
Bose positions the SC as the QC45’s successor; What Hi-Fi? places it in the standard QuietComfort family and highlights the soft case in place of a hard case. Those points clarify lineage and packaging, but they are not a complete specification comparison. Do not assume performance findings or test scores for QC45 or standard QuietComfort headphones apply to the SC without an exact-model test.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is the QuietComfort SC worth buying?
It may suit a buyer who wants Bose’s advertised over-ear ANC features, app-adjustable EQ, multipoint and a soft case, and who is comfortable relying on Bose’s claims for the unverified performance questions. It is harder to recommend on performance or value alone because exact-SC independent results for ANC, sound, comfort and measured battery life are not established here.

Price and stock also need a live check. Bose’s US page displayed $329 and marked the headphones sold out on 2026-10-07; that is a dated US-page observation, not a current universal price or availability guarantee. Before buying, compare the live price with alternatives tested under consistent conditions, verify the seller and return terms, and ensure the listing names QuietComfort SC rather than QC45 or another QuietComfort model.
