The Bosch SMP66MX01A is a discontinued Australian-market, 60 cm built-under dishwasher. Bosch lists a 15-place-setting capacity, a third cutlery drawer, heat-exchanger drying and a 170-minute reference Eco cycle. Its published specifications are useful for assessing fit and features, but they are not independent performance-test results.
What kind of dishwasher is the Bosch SMP66MX01A?
It is a stainless-steel, built-under Serie 6 dishwasher made for the Australian market. Bosch’s current product page says, “Product is no longer available.” CHOICE also marks the model discontinued, so an old retailer listing should not be taken as proof of new stock. Any unit found now may be remaining inventory or used; confirm its condition and availability with the seller.
Bosch’s specification sheet lists 15 place settings. The appliance measures 815 × 598 × 573 mm, while the stated installation niche is 815–875 × 600 × 550 mm. These figures do not guarantee a fit: check the actual cabinetry opening, plumbing and electrical connections, door swing, plinth, and clearances against the installation instructions before buying or installing one.
What features and loading layout does it have?
The layout combines a VarioDrawer third level for cutlery and smaller utensils with an upper basket that Bosch says has three-level Rackmatic height adjustment. Bosch also lists a GlassSecure Tray, intended for glassware, ExtraDry, and an InfoLight that projects a light onto the floor while the appliance is running. It has no Wi-Fi or Home Connect connectivity.

Bosch’s 2020 catalogue lists six programmes and four options, as well as AquaSensor, a heat exchanger, EcoSilence Drive, and AquaStop Plus. These are manufacturer-listed features; the available public information does not establish how well the model washes or dries in independent testing.

CHOICE identifies Eco 45°C as the energy programme. Its public listing does not expose the member-only Expert Rating or detailed washing, drying, energy, water, noise, and programme-time test results. Those results cannot be inferred from Bosch’s specifications or the star ratings.

What do owners say, and what can’t reviews establish?
ProductReview displayed a 4.0 score from nine reviews when accessed in 2026. The small, changeable review set includes an owner praising quiet operation, cleaning, and layout, and another reporting recurring wash, drain, tablet-dissolving, and error problems. These are individual experiences, not evidence of a typical outcome, a confirmed defect rate, or the dishwasher’s expected lifespan.

Bosch’s model-specific service page links to manuals and installation instructions, repair booking, accessories, cleaning products, and an original spare-parts lookup. Use the complete E-Nr model identifier, including its suffix, when searching for documentation or a part. Verify that a component is compatible with that exact identifier before ordering; the model name alone may not be enough.

How to assess a replacement
If you are replacing this dishwasher, compare current options against the SMP66MX01A’s built-under niche dimensions, 15-place-setting capacity, drawer-and-rack layout, drying method, noise specification, programme consumption, and cycle duration. Check connectivity, warranty, local service access, and the current price as well. Compare energy and water figures only when their programme and test context are clear; manufacturer specifications and independently measured results are not interchangeable.
