The Bosch SMI88TS02A is a 60 cm semi-integrated Serie 8 dishwasher with a Bosch-listed capacity of 15 place settings and a 42 dB(A) noise rating. It is not a current new-buy recommendation: Bosch Home Appliances Australia says the product is “no longer available,” and CHOICE lists it as discontinued. Treat this as a specification-based review, not a hands-on performance verdict; the public CHOICE listing does not reveal its test results.
Is the Bosch SMI88TS02A still available?
In Australia, Bosch’s product page states, “Product is no longer available,” and CHOICE marks the model discontinued. That does not establish whether a particular retailer still has old stock, or whether a used unit is available. Check any listing directly and verify that the complete appliance code is SMI88TS02A, including its suffix, before purchase. Bosch’s page is at Bosch Home Appliances Australia; CHOICE’s model listing is at CHOICE.
For buyers considering remaining stock or a used machine, the key risk is not just age: installation, condition, local service access and compatible replacement parts matter for a discontinued appliance. Ask for the full model and product code, confirm the unit’s condition and return terms, and check parts availability before committing. No current price or live stock status is established by the cited model pages.

Bosch identifies the SMI88TS02A as a 60 cm semi-integrated dishwasher in its Serie 8 range. A semi-integrated unit is not the same as a fully integrated model or a freestanding dishwasher: check the existing cabinetry, control-panel arrangement and installation requirements against the exact variant before assuming it will fit.

Bosch’s Australian specification lists stainless steel, 15 international place settings, a third loading level called VarioDrawer Pro, adjustable racks and interior EmotionLight lighting. The third level provides a separate space for cutlery and utensils; adjustable top-basket positioning and foldable tines give flexibility for loading. These are layout features, not evidence on their own of cleaning performance. Bosch’s product information is available at the Australian product page and its specification sheet.
How loud is the SMI88TS02A?
Bosch Australia lists the dishwasher at 42 dB(A). Its specification sheet separately gives 40 dB for the ExtraQuiet program. Those figures describe different conditions: 40 dB is the stated rating for that specific program, not a replacement for the general noise figure. The available sources do not provide an independent measurement or describe a household’s likely perceived noise.

What are its water and energy figures?
Bosch lists 12 litres of water per wash and 235 kWh of energy per year, with both figures based on the Eco 45°C program. The same specification materials give a 4-star energy rating and 5-star water rating. No year is printed on the available Bosch specification sheet, so these should be read as manufacturer-published figures, not current ratings guaranteed across jurisdictions. Actual consumption depends on program choice and use; the listed Eco-program figures are not a prediction for every household. CHOICE’s listing also reports the same consumption figures and ratings.
Which programs and options does Bosch list?
The Bosch specification sheet names eight programs. Program labels and availability can vary by market or exact variant, so use the manual for the individual appliance when selecting a cycle.

Listed options are Extra Dry, SpeedPerfect, HygienePlus and Half Load. Bosch describes Half Load for up to seven place settings. The sheet also lists a GlassSecure Tray and a large-item spray head. These published options do not establish how well a cycle cleans or dries in practice.
What are the dimensions, and will it fit?
The sources use different formats and measurements. Bosch’s Australian catalogue gives 815–875 × 598 × 573 mm for the semi-integrated model; CHOICE lists 82 × 60 × 55 cm. Do not treat the rounded CHOICE measurements as a substitute for installation dimensions. Confirm the exact variant’s installation manual and measure the available cabinet opening, including height adjustment and depth, before buying or replacing a unit. The figures are listed in Bosch’s specification sheet and CHOICE’s model listing.

That distinction matters when weighing a discontinued model: the feature list can help determine whether the layout and published specifications suit a kitchen, but it cannot answer whether a particular used machine is reliable or how it performs today.

How should existing owners find manuals and parts?
Use Bosch support’s lookup for manuals, installation instructions, owner resources and replacement parts: Bosch support for SMI88TS02A. Enter the complete E-Nr/model suffix and use the regional support page. A model-family match alone does not guarantee that a document or part fits every variant, and a parts lookup does not guarantee stock.
The support route is also the safer starting point before ordering a replacement component: compare the part information against the appliance’s complete code, then confirm fit and availability with the seller or service provider.
